An "indeterminate" haplotype will appear when the SNPs that make up the haplotype could not be called.
For example, it will state "indeterminate COMT haplotype".
One or more SNPs will show a call of "-", meaning that the lab was unable to report that specific SNP due to poor saliva sample. This could be caused by the following reasons:
- Not enough DNA
- The saliva sample was possibly slightly contaminated with bacterial DNA or other contaminants
Note: This "-" does NOT mean you have a "wildtype/normal" gene. It means that it could NOT be called due to the sample quality.
