Hi Dr lynch, Is it ok to take one zinc lozenge per day in addition to the Optimal Prenatal during pregnancy? (plasma zinc is on the low side within range and copper is mid range). Thanks so much! | Hi Erika - If you need it, yes you may. I'd take it after dinner to space out the amount you're taking. The upper limit for zinc during pregnancy is 40 mg a day. I would not exceed this. In health, |
Is this pregnancy safe? | Hi Sade - Yes it is. Use as needed when needing to support a healthy immune system.* Be sure to take after you have eaten a meal. Never take it with just a snack or you may feel nauseated. In health, |
Shouldn't Zinc be coupled with cooper so as to be more effective? Thank you, Cathy | Hi Cathy - You do need both and they can be taken together. However, zinc and copper can interfere with each other's absorption if not in balanced ratios though. Zinc deficiencies are more common than copper deficiencies. This makes Zinc Lozenge a better choice in these cases. Trace Minerals Complex does contain zinc and copper in balanced ratios if both need support. Best, |
Hi, I am wondering which kind of Zink supplement and maybe B complex too that I should purchase when I have histamine intolerance? I purchased Stress Relief a while ago, does that help with perimenopause anxiety? Thank you! Tracy | Hi Tracy - I'm not sure what supplement you may need based on your question. Please ask again letting me know what you're trying to support. Stress Nutrients does support a healthy sense of calm for those who have stressful times.* In health, |
Would these zinc lozenges be effective at shortening the course of a cold/viral URI if taken at it's onset? If so, at what dose for adults and for a toddler or a child? | Hi Dasha - What I can say is the Zinc Lozenge supports healthy zinc levels which are really needed to support a healthy immune response when one has a need for immune support.* I highly recommend using Immune Intensive as it's more comprehensive, tastes great and will get the job done better. Consider:
If you want to use just the Zinc Lozenges, you'd break it into the serving sizes as specified for Immune Intensive. Note - you do not need the Zinc Lozenges along with the Immune Intensive as it has a lot of zinc in it. In health, |
Hi Dr Lynch, We've been reading Dirty Genes , trying to help our chronically ill adult daughter. Strategenes soon, but for now, her GeneSight results (Pych MD) shows Heterozygous for C677T w/increased Homocysteine, COMT (MET/MET), etc. She has mood disorder (BPD), Anxiety, Insomnia and within the past year or two of her favorite foods being less and less desired, losing her appetite before eating, and frequent bouts of nausea, her doctor 'thinks' she's developed ARFID (Avoidance Restrictive Food Intake Disorder). She says 'foods just don't taste like anything or just don't taste the same/taste good anymore. It's been a huge struggle because, although she almost immediately started sleeping better after taking 3-4 of YOUR wonderful Methyl B12 with L-Methyfolate Lozenges ea day, it seems like she also needs the Chewable Mulitvitamin and Homocysteine Nutrients we've bought as well, but since she eats SO LITTLE, and usually very late in the evening, we can't yet give them to her. In watching your video about how the Zinc Lozenges help some who've lost their sense of smell and TASTE, I was wondering: would adding the Zinc Lozenges next, be a way to 're-sensitize' her taste buds to once again enjoying the taste of food, thus regaining her normal appetite (eat first meal early in day so we can give the Multi and/or Homocysteine Nutrients? Please help. Thank you so much! | Hi Larry - Great points all around. Some times people eat a little bit of food for a few other reasons:
Start here. I believe this trio will provide significant benefit. In health, |
Can you get too much zinc? Does it build up in your body or does the body release what it doesn't need? | Hi Ellie - Absolutely. You can get too much of anything. Air, water, hugs... As a trace mineral, zinc is stored in many tissues of the body. For example, in men, zinc is very highly concentrated in the prostate. For both sexes, zinc is mostly stored in the muscle and bone. Peeing out zinc is not really that easy. The best way to get zinc out of the body is by taking copper without zinc. The best way to get copper out of the body is by taking zinc without copper. Zinc Lozenges should be used on an as-needed basis - not daily. For daily support, consider Multivitamin One which has trace minerals and your B complex along with some antioxidants and fat soluble vitamins. In health, |
Can you check if I stacked the Seeking Health Supplements correctly? I am trying to add Zinc Lozenges and Serotonin Nutrients. Can I combine Zinc w/ other supplements? I have mold, lyme and high homocysteine levels. Waking Up - 1/2 Brain Nutrients & 1 tsp glutathione Breakfast - 1X Zinc Lozenges, Vitamin D, 2X Optimal Fish Oil Lunch/Dinner - 2X gallbladder, 1X 125mg Ox Bile After Dinner - 1X Liver Nutrients Bedtime - HistaminX, Ketotifen (MCAS) and 1X Serotonin Nutrients Thank you so much!!! | Hi Rebecca - I would do Zinc right before you eat dinner or after dinner so you don't risk experiencing nausea from the zinc. Waking up, the Brain Nutrients and Liposomal Glutathione - this is a good time. Know that you may need less some mornings and other mornings you may need more. Feel how these supplements affect you and adjust what you need. Do not stay on the same amount all the time. That's not a good idea. Lunch and dinner supplement timing is good. Again, adjust the serving sizes based on how you are feeling. Fish oil and vitamin D are pretty much set - but the other ones you can be flexible on. In health, |
What is the difference between zinc gluconate (found in other supps) vs. zinc bisglycinate chelate (found in yours) Thank you in advance! Monica | Hi Monica Both forms are good. I find zinc bisglycinate to be better tolerated by people vs gluconate. In health, |
