Who is Stomach Acid Nutrients intended for and how to use?Updated 4 hours ago

Stomach Acid Nutrients

Stomach Acid Nutrients is a digestive support formula designed for adults who experience burping, bloating, or a heavy, stuck feeling after meals, and who want more than a simple acid replacement. Rather than relying solely on betaine hydrochloride and pepsin, as most stomach acid products do, this formula also supplies the cofactors the body needs to support its own acid-producing mechanism, addressing the underlying issue rather than creating a dependency on added acid.†

How It Works

Digestion depends on a cascade that begins with adequate stomach acid: acid activates pepsin to break down protein, and it also triggers the release of bile and pancreatic enzymes further down the digestive tract. The parietal cells that produce stomach acid rely on potassium chloride to fuel the pump that secretes acid, and on thiamine to generate the cellular energy and nerve signaling (acetylcholine) that tells the stomach to release acid in the first place. Molybdenum supports the metabolism of thiamine so the body can make full use of it. Betaine HCl and pepsin are included to provide immediate support at the start of a meal, while potassium, thiamine, and molybdenum work to support the body's long-term ability to produce acid on its own.†

Key Ingredients

Betaine HCl provides a direct source of hydrochloric acid to support an acidic stomach environment. Research in healthy volunteers with suppressed acid production has shown that betaine HCl can temporarily support healthy gastric pH. Because stomach acid activates the protein-digesting enzyme pepsin and signals the rest of digestion to proceed, betaine HCl taken with a protein-containing meal supports the breakdown of protein and the absorption of minerals such as iron, magnesium, calcium, and B12.†

Pepsin, a porcine-derived digestive enzyme, is the stomach's primary protein-digesting enzyme and functions only in an acidic environment, which is why it is paired with betaine HCl. Together, these two ingredients supply what a healthy stomach naturally makes to convert protein into absorbable amino acids: acid and the enzyme that acid activates.†

Potassium Chloride supplies chloride, the raw material the stomach uses to manufacture hydrochloric acid by combining it with hydrogen. The dose is kept deliberately low, at 2 percent of the Daily Value, so the formula supports the body's own acid production without contributing a meaningful potassium load.†

Thiamine (as thiamine HCl), or vitamin B1, is required for the acid-secreting parietal cells of the stomach to function properly and for the autonomic nerve signaling that drives gut motility and digestive tone. Low thiamine status is associated with sluggish digestion and reduced stomach acid production, and this water-soluble form is absorbed quickly to provide fast-acting support.†

Benfotiamine crosses cell membranes more readily than water-soluble forms of thiamine and helps sustain tissue thiamine levels over a longer period. Pairing benfotiamine with thiamine HCl allows the formula to provide both rapid water-soluble uptake and longer-lasting fat-soluble tissue saturation.†

TRAACS® Molybdenum Glycinate Chelate provides molybdenum, a cofactor for sulfite oxidase, the enzyme responsible for converting sulfites into harmless sulfate. As protein digestion releases sulfur-containing amino acids, molybdenum supports the body's downstream handling of these compounds. The dose included is small and intended to be supportive rather than therapeutic.†

Suggested Use

Take one capsule with a protein-containing meal, or as directed by your healthcare professional, making sure not to take it on an empty stomach or exceed one capsule per serving unless advised otherwise by a practitioner.

How to Store

Keep closed in a cool, dry place out of reach of children.

Suitability

This product is intended for adults eighteen and over who experience incomplete digestion, a sense of fullness or heaviness after meals, or who want to support healthy protein breakdown and their body's own stomach acid production, particularly those who have already tried digestive enzymes or bile support without success and suspect low stomach acid is the missing piece.†

Cautions & Warnings

This product is not appropriate for individuals with an active stomach or duodenal ulcer, gastritis, or any inflamed or eroded stomach lining, and those with a history of acid reflux, PPI use, or NSAID use should consider supporting stomach lining integrity before introducing added acid. It should not be used by individuals taking NSAIDs, proton pump inhibitors, or H2 blockers unless under the supervision of a practitioner, nor by those whose reflux or burning sensation has been confirmed to stem from excess rather than insufficient acid. Anyone experiencing severe abdominal pain or a diagnosed ulcer should avoid this product and consult their practitioner first. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should consult their healthcare provider before use, and because pepsin is porcine-derived, this product is not suitable for those following a vegetarian or vegan diet.
