What probiotic can I give my child who is between ages 2 years old and 4 years old?Updated a month ago
Seeking Health probiotics are suitable for 4 years of age and older, with the exception of the ProBiota Infant (intended for infants ages 6 months to 2 years). A question we’re asked often is if ProBiota Infant is only intended for children up to two years old, and our other probiotics are designed for children ages four and older, what do you do for kids who are between the ages of two and four?
Probiotic strains tend to be different in the guts of infants and toddlers than they are for kids who are fully eating a “big person” diet. Therefore, the strains used for ProBiota Infant are likely more supportive for those who are being breastfed or are consuming infant or toddler formula.†
As far as what older children should consume for a probiotic, your qualified healthcare provider can answer that. They may suggest taking a probiotic or prebiotic designed for older children or for adults. They might suggest specific strains, or they may recommend continuing with strains that are infant and toddler-friendly.

Only your healthcare provider can determine the specific nutrient intake amount that is best for your child's circumstances and needs. We suggest talking to your qualified healthcare professional about the correct dosing for your child.
