What is the purpose and source of each ingredient in Optimal Iron?Updated 4 hours ago

Ingredient

Purpose

Vitamin A

May help to transport and distribute iron throughout the body. Low plasma vitamin A is associated with low plasma iron.†

Vitamin C

Supports iron absorption.†

Riboflavin

Riboflavin deficiency may alter iron metabolism and impair iron absorption.†

Biotin

Supports heme production, and therefore the production of hemoglobin, which is essential for carrying oxygen to cells. Iron-deficient individuals have a reduction in hemoglobin.†

Iron

Provides iron, which may support healthy blood cells, muscle function and metabolism.†

Copper

May support movement of iron out of its ferritin stores.†

Betaine HCL

Supports stomach acid levels - low stomach acid may reduce iron absorption.†

Lipase

Enzyme which aid in the healthy absorption of fat-soluble vitamin A.†

  • Iron (ferric glycinate)

A well-tolerated, taste-free form of iron. Supports healthy oxygen transportation, muscle function, metabolism, and blood cell formation.

  • Vitamin C

Supports immune system function, antioxidant and enzyme activity, histamine metabolism via DAO production, collagen production, mast cell stability and respiratory health.

  • Vitamin A

Provides the bioavailable form, as retinyl palmitate, to support common BC01 gene variations for optimal eye, mucus membrane, and immune system health. It plays significant roles in respiratory and lung health, normal inflammatory signaling and healthy immune system defenses.

  • Riboflavin (Vitamin B2)

B vitamin recycles damaged and used-up glutathione by supporting your glutathione reductase (GSR) enzyme.

  • Biotin

    Supports healthy skin and nails.

  • Copper

Supports healthy blood cells and cellular function

  • Betaine HCL

Supports stomach acid levels, which in turn supports optimal digestion
