What has changed in our new Histamine Digest™ in Aug 2020?Updated 5 months ago
Our Histamine Digest™ formulation has been improved as of August 2020 in response to requests from our customers (you!) to remove the preservatives that were used to create the micro-encapsulated beads. As a result, the product is now a more pure DAO and vitamin C formula as a powder that is inside of an acid-resistant capsule.
Here is what has changed:
- Changed out the vitamin C as ascorbic acid to its more bioavilable form, ascorbyl palmitate. Ascorbyl palmitate is a well-absorbed, fat-soluble form of vitamin C and possesses all the properties of ascorbic acid, but just more readily available. This change was made to improve the absorption of vitamin C and further protect the DAO. This also acts as a processing agent and helps to optimize encapsulation, so you will see it present as an "Other Ingredient on the label.
- Changed out the vegetarian capsule with a acid-resistant vegetarian capsule, which has added gellan gum to help protect it from degradation of stomach acid.
- Removed the following preservatives and stabilizing ingredients that made up the micro-encapsulated beads: sucrose, rice starch, shellac, hydroxypropylcellulose, crospovidone, hydrated magnesium silicate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, and glycerol. As a result, there are no more beads.
It is important to note that the amounts of the functional, active ingredients, DAO and vitamin C, have not changed. At Seeking Health, we are constantly trying to improve our products, and we take feedback from our customers very seriously.
