Vitamin D3 Drops Dr. Lynch product Q&AUpdated 3 hours ago

Question
Answer
I have homo AA VDR-FOK. What does that imply about vitamin D and would I be better off getting it from the sun or with supplementation? Does it turn toxic in VDR FOK people?

Hi Allis -

One cannot base their vitamin D supplement recommendations off on one SNP.

The research on VDR is very conflicting, unclear and without sufficient evidence to make a clear statement one way or the other.

Companies that do make clear statements when it comes to VDR are not being honest.

I do not know what the significance of VDR FOK AA is besides that it seems has a poorer response to vitamin D supplements than others.

I do know there are 18,000 genes in the body and this is just one of them.

How is your vitamin D transport gene? Your CYP genes for activating 25 to 1,25 OH vitamin D?

I've done a lot of research on vitamin D and it was very unclear.

That said, I'd focus on getting vitamin D from the sun, food and supplements - and I'd use K2 with the D3 you're taking.

I have purchased this product a number of times through Amazon, until upon receiving the actual bottle the last time, I noticed that the expiration date on the product was just a few months away. I called your company and was told that I could use the product for some months after the expiration date which made me uncomfortable. I was unable to return it to Amazon. I would like to order it again directly from you in that if the expiration date is not reasonable, you will accept the return. What is the expiration timing currently?

Hello Lee,

I apologize for any confusion regarding the expiration dates and for the discomfort this situation caused. We do not recommend using any product after its expiration date, as its potency and effectiveness may diminish, even though it may not become harmful.

Our current lot of Vitamin D3 drops is set to expire on 12/31/2025, so if you choose to order directly from us, rest assured that you will receive a product with a long shelf life. We also stand by our return policy, and if the expiration date is not reasonable, we would gladly accept the return.

Kind Regards,

Are the allergens from the wool, which the d3 from lanolin is derived from, removed completely, for those sensitive to this?

Hi Ingrid -

We don't test for wool but I would say yes as lanolin is highly purified.

My infant had a very mild flu and the dropper accidentally touched his tongue when I was giving him the D3 drops. I was wondering if the bottle is still safe to use or if it’s now contaminated?

Hi Salma -

That's a great question.

To be safe, reach out to my team and tell them I said to send you out a free bottle.

Look into Immune Intensive as well. You can give your baby a DROP of this to support their healthy immune system during times of need.*

Hello! Is it okay to take D3 without K2? What would be the reason to take D3 alone? Thank you!

Hi Kristi -

You certainly can take vitamin D3 without K2.

D3 and K2 are often combined since they are both fat-soluble vitamins that need healthy gallbladder function for absorption. They also both support bone health and healthy cardiovascular function.

Someone who consumes lots of leafy green vegetables and has a healthy gut microbiome may not need extra vitamin K2, since K2 is produced predominantly by the gut microbiome.

Are these drops completely free of Mct, coconut, palm oil, nuts? Thanks

Hello Ali,

The Vitamin D3 in the product utilizes palm oil as a derivative in process of making the vitamin D3 oil, the D3 is sourced from Lanolin (sheep wool). Our product only contains the D3 oil and Olive oil. The product is free of coconut oil, and nuts. Palm oil is not added, it is just used in the processing of the D3 oil.

Hi, I notice that you said you are developing the Vitamin D3 +K2 drops using MK7 instead of MK4. Will the new formula still be suitable for people with Histamine Intolerance as MK7 is from Natto or other fermented source? Will you also continue the D3 with MK 4 for those with Histamine Intolerance? Thanks in advance

Hi Karen -

We have not changed this formulation to MK7.

The MK4 is working very well for people.

That said, just because an ingredient is made by fermentation does not mean that it is high histamine or causes issues in people.

The fermentation process simply helps transform one compound into another.

You are not consuming that process. You are consuming the final product of the fermentation - not the fermentation.

Are these being discontinued? Was going to try them, but not worth it for me if they're not in continued production. Thank you!

Hi Joanna -

They are not being discontinued.

I thought about doing it but many customers did not want to lose this product - my wife included. :)
