Vitamin C Plus Dr. Lynch product Q&AUpdated 17 hours ago

Question
Answer
Can I mix Vitamin C Plus powder with water and then freeze into popsicles without losing any benefits? BTW_ best tasting Vitamin C ever! And I tried them all. Thank you.

Hi Patt -

Great to hear that you like the taste of Vitamin C Plus :).

Yes, you can.

Heat destroys vitamin C, but not cold.

Hi Dr. Ben, My children struggle with histamine issues. They take probiota histaminX and my son takes quercetin. I'm mostly wondering about your optimal vitamin c powder. Should I give the full 2000 mg in 1 sitting or should they stop it throughout the day? To help keep histamine inside the cell. Right now they are taking the dose in 1 sitting

Hi Jacci -

If their bowel movements are well formed, they may take all in one sitting.

If their stools are loose, then they should split the dose in two and have 1/2 serving in the morning and the other 1/2 before bed.

Hi Dr. Ben, I really enjoy the taste of this and have 2 scoops almost every day. I’m dealing with histamine issues with other things and this hasn’t seemed to trigger any reaction so far. Since this is the only thing that I can have with some flavor due to all my restrictions - Would it be okay to consume 2-3 scoops a day? I'm unsure if having multiple scoops daily could become a problem over time since citrus is high in histamines. Do you think this amount could be too much given my situation?

Hi Emma -

You're good to go as long as you're experiencing benefit.

I highly recommend looking into our Histamine Bundle or at least the Histamine Workbook.

The Histamine Workbook will help you identify where you need to work on various things in your lifestyle, diet and environment to support a healthy histamine level.

Every time I take this I get diarrhea. Is it too much or something that will go away?

Hi Dawn -

It's pretty strong.

I have reformulated it and have a new formulation being released soon - I'd say the next month or so.

I recommend using 1/2 the serving size and sipping vs chugging.

The upcoming new formulation is improved and is less likely to contribute to loose stools.

Is this Vitamin C powder ok to take by someone methyl sensitive with a slow COMT? I heard that Quercetin is a methyl donor, but I'm not sure.

Hi George -

You're good to go.

One needs to take many grams of quercetin in order to slow your COMT in any significant manner.
