What’s the difference between this one and the trace minerals MF? How do you know if you need one or the other? | Hi Kelsey - One just doesn't have Iron or Copper while the other one does. If your iron and copper levels are fine, then use the Trace Minerals Complex II. Always take Trace Mineral Complexes after a full meal. Never on a light snack or empty stomach. In health, |
Is there anything for someone who no longer has their thyroid and is wanting to stop taking Levothyroxin? 😬 | Hi Myra - Not that I'm aware of no. Once a thyroid has been removed, thyroid hormones must be provided and the best way to do that in a controlled manner is via thyroid medication. In health, |
Hello. I'm eating this product steadily, but can't you change potassium to Potassium Glycinate Complex (Albion®) instead of potassium chloride? | Hi there - The potassium glycinate is way fluffier than chloride. Both are very effective forms of minerals so we went with the less fluffy so we can keep it down to one capsule. Potassium carbonate is not a quality form. In health, |
Hello, Can I take Trace Minerals at the same time as B Complex Plus? Will taking them at the same time negatively impact the absorption of either supplement? Thank you. | Hi Chelsea - You can take Trace Minerals at the same time as B Complex Plus as they don't contain the same nutrients. They rather complement each other. There are no ingredients in either supplement that would negatively affect the absorption of these vitamins and minerals. If you have a sensitive stomach you may need to take them with food. Is this needed if taking multivitamin one? For my husband who mostly eats processed foods. | Hi Dawn - Nope. For your husband, I highly recommend 2 capsules of Optimal Man for breakfast. That will help him a ton and he'll enjoy it. It's easy, fast and very noticeable the same day. I'd also start sneaking into him:

Hi there I'm wandering if you could possibly offer some help,I had the histamine lifecode gx test done and they said I'm not methylating properly,(not sure on correct terminology)at the moment I can't afford to pay for a practitioner ,would b5,p5p amd trace minerals help methylate, many thanks | Hi Stephanie - In other words, not everyone with an MTHFR SNP (polymorphism) needs to take L-methylfolate. A suggestion may be to read the Dirty Genes book by Dr. Ben Lynch and see whether you may have a dirty MTHFR (methylation) or dirty DAO (histamine) gene. This could help you determine which supplements may be better suited. There are many nutrients that can support methylation, and not just B5, P5P, or trace minerals. However, if you are looking for some basic methylation support B Complex Plus or Multivitamin One would be good choices. Hope this helps. |
I just purchased this product and was so excited to add it, and then I noticed that my NAC supplement already gives me 100 mcg of Selenium per day....as well as 100 mcg of Molybdenum ...if I also take this Trace Minerals complex, will that be too much selenium or moly? I heard selenium is easy to get toxic on.. | Hi Taylor - Trace Minerals Complex contains 200 mcg of molybdenum and 200 mcg of selenium. If you add in another 100 mcg of each per day it should be fine. Typically we don't want to consume more than 900 mcg of selenium per day or more than 2 mg (2,000 mcg) of molybdenum per day. Hope this helps :) Regards, |
I am interested in adding in minerals as it feels like my body is missing something. I see Iodine in your product but was told not to take Iodine (or is it that I dont need it??) as I have had my thyroid removed. Is it safe to take this? Or do you have another rec? Thank you | Hi Lisa - It's tough to say what's needed as I don't have a clear picture of what you are trying to support. Iodine is used by many parts of your body - not just your thyroid - so that is bad advice you received. Iodine is used as an antimicrobial, supports healthy breast tissue, supports a healthy immune response, supports healthy cell metabolism and supports healthy fetal development during pregnancy to name a few.* I'd say let's start you with some fundamental nutrients:
If taking the Trace Mineral Complex, always take it with a meal. I recommend dinner as it's usually the largest meal of the day. In health, |
Is it ok to open the capsule and mix in with something like applesauce? | Hi Melissa - It is ok to do that but the applesauce will taste badly. You can definitely do it. I may have a better solution, though. If needing trace minerals in a chewable, I do recommend the Kids Multivitamin Chewable MF as it has a lot of the trace minerals in a very tasty chewable. Would this be fine to take while taking prentals and magnesium? Also for kids ? | Hi Chrissy - This is not needed if taking a quality prenatal like Prenatal Essentials or Optimal Prenatal. If you are not taking either of those prenatals, then I'd consider switching. Trace minerals are found in all of our prenatals. Optimal Prenatal has lots of highly absorbed magnesium in it as well. You want to use a quality magnesium like magnesium malate or magnesium citrate. You do not want magnesium oxide or magnesium carbonate. These two are garbage. For kids, you want to use Kids Multivitamin Chewable. These have all the trace minerals in them as well - and they taste fantastic. :) In health, |
