Can this probiotic reduce bloating and irritable bowel syndrome? Which probiotic is right for me? I suffer from severe abdominal pressure and bloating for about 9 months | Hi Anat - Sorry to hear this. Due to the severity of abdominal pressure, please seek guidance from a medical professional. Call your doctor today and get seen please. I do suggest they do some lab testing, physical exam and medical imaging. Sending positive healing thoughts your way ;) In health, |
Are these ProBiota Woman probiotics ok to take for those with histamine intolerance? | Hi Helen - Not really no. The L. fermentum is a histamine producing strain so I would not use it. Instead, use the ProBiota HistaminX upon waking - new research shows best taking away from food on empty stomach. In health, |
I am looking for support for my mother who has chronic UTIs. She is taking medication for chronic leukemia which increases her risk for them. If these don’t interact with her meds would this be helpful for chronic UTI support. They keep giving her antibiotics and I would love to decrease that. | Hi Elizabeth - I'm sorry to hear about your mother's leukemia. Yeah, those medications can unfortunately contribute to some other health challenges. ProBiota Woman will not interfere with her medication as probiotics simply live in the gut, vaginal tract, and bladder where they contribute to microbial balance.* L. reuteri and L. rhamnosus are particularly beneficial in this case.* Try not to give it to her at the same time as her antibiotics. Sometimes before bed is a good time as it gives the probiotics time to do work before the next dose of antibiotics. I also would suggest:
All the best :) |
I had to go on a two-week course of doxycycline and metronidazole and had a single injection of ceftriaxone a month or so ago. Wanting to ensure no further infections take place. Would this be a good option to repopulate good bacteria? Would I want to increase the dose? Thank you! | Hi Rachel - Smart. Consider:

I order this and wasn't able to be home for 3 days to grab the package from my mail box. On the back of it, it says need to be refrigerated. Are these bad now? | Hi Bobbi - You're all good. We use very state-of-the-art packaging which protects the probiotics from heat and moisture. You'll see that our probiotic packaging is different from the rest of our packaging - and it is for this reason. Smart to check ;) In health, |
I currently have been on your ProBiota HistaminX for quite awhile and did a recent stool test and still have ZERO lactobacillus with severe bloating issues. By adding this ProBiota Woman to my protocol in addition to the Probiota HistaminX do you think that would that help me get more lactobacillus? I cant take your gallbladder nutrients because of certain other active ingredients In it according to my genetics doctor that dont work well for me and creates side effects for me. However I can try just Tudca Bile salts only if you think that would help too? Thank you. | Hi Mandi - ProBiota HistaminX is mainly a bifidobacteria species supplement, so I would not expect it to raise your lactobacilli levels. The ProBiota Woman supplement, being more lactobacilli-based, should raise your count on a stool test. However, many of these species are not histamine-friendly, so just weigh that up with your symptoms. And the benefits may be temporary as when you stop taking the supplement your lactobacilli levels are likely to decrease again. Other factors that may contribute to your lactobacilli 'deficiency' could be deficiencies in the nutrients biotin or vitamin B6. Both of these contribute to lactobacilli growth in the gut. I don't know if TUDCA bile salts would help. This may be a question for your healthcare practitioner. It certainly won't increase your lactobacilli levels directly. To encourage the growth of lactobacilli species, my suggestions would be: • Avoid eating refined carbohydrates such as bread, pasta, cakes, baked goods, etc. Hope this helps :) Elizma Lambert (ElizmaLambert.com) |
I have been taking Probiota Histamin X for a few months and it has helped somewhat. I still have gas and bloating after dinner. Would I be better to switch to Probiota woman? | Hi Ronna - I'd keep going if you're experiencing benefits. If still symptoms, then there are other things needing additional support. Consider:

I am 24 years old and have had chronic yeast infections, heavy discharge etc. I passed a kidney stone several months ago and were told then I had high liver enzymes. I cannot tolerate alcohol well and have extreme reactions relative to how much I drink. Finally, I was diagnosed with gastroparesis in my teens but that seems to have improved with age. Would this product help and should I add something else? Thanks | Hi Amy - Let's get you better. I suggest:
Start here. Once you have this foundation in, then you can add in a capsule of Multivitamin One MF every few days with breakfast - but not for a couple weeks. In health, |
Hi would this product be suitable for helping to manage candida? Txs | Hi Sonja - It's not my first choice but it's not a bad one. I'd use Saccharomyces Boulardii. It's a beneficial yeast that is not friends with candida. According to research published in the Journal of Fungi in 2020:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7711718/ Saccharomyces Boulardii supports a healthy environment that is not favorable to candida.* I recommend taking 2 capsules after dinner and do this for 2-3 months. I'd also support your gut health by taking 2 capsules of Gallbladder Nutrients before dinner. This supports healthy bile production and bile flow. This is key for a healthy microbiome and creates an unfavorable environment for yeast.* In health, |
Would taking ProBiota Woman help with IC symptoms? I have chronic bladder discomfort, what feels like bladder distention/tension and urgency after eating/drinking offending foods or under high stress. I am looking for a supplement to sooth these symptoms but also support ongoing urinary tract health. | Hi Jennifer - I would lean towards a few supplements for this: ProBiota HistaminX - take 2 capsules after dinner to support a healthy histamine level in your microbiome and your bladder.* Histamine Digest - take 1 capsule with meals - and then also 1 capsule before bed. This supports healthy histamine levels which are commonly elevated in IC.* Optimal GI capsules - take 3 capsules before bed and 3 capsules upon waking up in the morning away from food. Do this until the bottle is gone or for a week after your symptoms are gone. Optimal GI supports a healthy bladder lining.* Stress Nutrients - take 2-3 capsules when you need healthy stress support and skip it when you feeling good.* Stress increases histamine production and release - so you want to manage a healthy stress response. This combination should have you feeling good in a few days :) In health, |
Would this be a good probiotic to fix the gut? I had a good digestive system and bowl movement until my kids gave me a stomach bug in Feb 2024 and I have not been able to recover. I would go for 2-3 days without a bowl movement, feel really bloated and then I would diarrhea. The only bowl movement I've had for a couple months has been diarrhea and I can't seem to get myself back on track. I'm eating some sauerkraut and most salads and veggies but I feel I need something more. | Hi Jessica - Gotta love kids :) I'd stop eating sulfur based foods and high histamine foods like saurkraut. That's not helping. Add in ProBiota HistaminX and Saccharomyces Boulardii and take 1 capsule of each after dinner. I'd also add in Gallbladder Nutrients. Take 2-4 capsules before dinner. Start with 2 capsules. See if any improvement. If needing more improvement, work up to 4 capsules before dinner. You will need to adjust the use of Gallbladder Nutrients until you find what works well for you. I do well with 2 capsules of Gallbladder Nutrients before dinner about 3 -5 nights a week - depending on what I am eating. With meals, I'd take 1 capsule of Digestive Enzymes with each meal. This combination should help you in a matter of days. Make sure you are chewing your food well, no more saurkraut as it's high sulfur (high sulfur contributes to diarrhea). In health, |
Can you take both ProBiota Woman and Probiota Bifidobacterium together for a more complete probiotic? Or would it be better to take turns using each one? | Hi Sara - Absolutely. Yes. Nature has us consuming a broad-spectrum of probiotics every day with our food. I typically recommend taking probiotics after dinner. Why? By taking probiotics after the last meal of the day, it allows them time to establish a residence inside your digestive system. If you take any other time of the day, they may get pushed through your digestive system without the ability to adhere to walls of your digestive system. In health, |
