Probiota HistaminX Dr. Lynch product Q&AUpdated 8 minutes ago

Question
Answer

My 18 year old son has been suffering from allergies for years (has had allergy testing and is allergic to everything) and has chronic inflammation in his nose which has developed into chronic sinus infections (allergic fungal sinusitis) that have required surgery 3 times in the last 5 years. He has been doing allergy shots since January to see if they help with his allergies. We haven’t seen much improvement. He also developed hand ezcema out of no where about 3 years ago. I give him colostrum daily and that has seemed to help some with the ezcema . He has MTHFR and would like to know what do you suggest to help with his allergies and ezcema. Thanks!

Given the depth of his history and symptoms, I highly recommend consulting with ElizmaLambert.com

She can help you dig deeper and she's awesome at knowing how to restore gut heatlh.

I can provide some supplement suggestions that will provide healthy support, and I will. That said, I'd love you to have lasting results and Elizma can help here.

Consider:

  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule upon waking in the morning
  • Saccharomyces Boulardii: 1 capsule upon waking in the morning
  • Gut Nutrients: 3 capsules upon waking in the morning and 3 capsules before bed
  • Bile Nutrients: 4 capsules before dinner
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Digestive Enzymes: 2 capsules with each meal
  • Histamine Digest: 1 capsule with each meal
  • Glutathione Plus Lozenge: 1 lozenge daily typically in the morning is best. He may need another 1/2 to 1 lozenge later in the afternoon.
  • go 100% gluten free
  • go 100% cow dairy free
  • eat more meat, fruit
  • Histamine Nutrients: 2 capsules before bed
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 2 servings a day

This is a lot of suggestions but there's a big need for healthy support.

He should begin noticing improvements within 24 hours.

One more thing:

In health,

Which supplements do you recommend for a 3 year old who has struggled with constipation her whole life? Should I switch to a different probiotic, or are there better supplements to address this? Currently I give her the Probiota HistaminX plus magnesium citrate, which typically helps her be more regular, but she still struggles with bloating sometimes.

Foods are a common culprit here especially gluten and cow dairy products.

Consider:

  • Gluten free options
  • Goat dairy products - goat cheese, goat milk and goat yogurt are great.
  • ProBiota Bifido: switch her to 1 capsule in the morning before food. The ProBiota HistaminX may contribute to constipation.
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 serving in the morning. Kids don't drink water - they're too busy. Put a scoop in her water bottle and have her drink as she wants. The Orange and Berry are great tasting. The added magnesium, creatine and taurine will be awesome for her healthy bowel movements.* Plus the added water. Use filtered water.
  • Establish a routine of sitting on the toilet. Kids are too busy to sit down and go poop. Have her at the same time each day sit on the toilet and establish a routine - whether it is morning or evening before bed or midday - doesn't matter - the routine matters.
  • If she holds the urge too long, that dries out the stool and leads to constipation. She needs to start listening to the urge to go to the bathroom and go right them or soon after.

In health,

Which supplements and times of day do you recommend for a 7 year old who has suffered with dry itchy eczema since she was two months old? I have tried many things over the years. Certain times of the year her skin is mostly fine and then she gets flares under her knees and elbows. Every night before bed is when she gets itchiest. Her bowel movements are regular and she is a very active young girl, we try and eat fairly clean and a varied diet. Currently I give her the vitamin D, Probiota HistaminX and Histamin-X from Seeking Health.

Foods here are a big culprit. Eggs, gluten and cow dairy are the biggest offenders.

You can do a blood spot food sensitivity test with your doctor:
https://www.usbiotek.com/tests/96-general-food-panel

Consider:

  • Histamine Digest: 1 capsule with meals. Please read this fully: https://www.seekinghealth.com/cdn/shop/files/DAO_Enzyme_-_How_To_Use_1_-compressed.pdf?v=13078804414802507509
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule in the morning
  • Gluten and cow dairy free. Switch to goat products.
  • Filter her drinking water - (and yours :) )
  • Get a chlorine shower filter in her shower so the chlorine doesn't dry out her skin
  • change laundry soap to a very natural one without fragrance
  • stop using scented dryer sheets
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Kids Multivitamin Chewable MF: 1/2 a chewable after a protein based breakfast to support her with foundational vitamins and minerals.*
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 serving in the morning or whenever she desires to drink it
  • Gut Nutrients: 2 capsules before bed

This should help a ton.

In health,

When is the best time of day to take this product? It says after dinner, why is this? I’ve been taking it in the morning.

We are actually redoing this label.

I've done research on the best time to take a probiotic and it is upon waking in the morning away from food.

You're doing it right time of day :)

In health,

When is the best time of day to take this and why? Can I take it first thing in the morning before food? Thanks

The best time of day is first thing in the morning and away from food by about 15-30 minutes before eating.

I just did a video on this actually:

In health,

I am making homemade yogurt. Can the probiotic histaminx and the Saccharomyces Boulardii capsules be used for my yogurt starter to ensure I am only getting non histamine strands in my yogurt? Thanks!

Yes you may. I am not sure how the saccharomyces will work in yogurt but worth a try :)

In health,

My client is breastfeeding, can she take it? Thank you.

Yes she can.

I also highly recommend she use Optimal PC after dinner as well.

Phospholipids as found in Optimal PC greatly enhance the nutrient density of breastmilk.

Choline, as found in phospholipids like phosphatidylcholine, are fantastic for supporting a healthy baby's brain.*

Additionally, low phosphatidylcholine is also found in women with mastitis.

Dr Lynch, I have MCAS and struggle with digestive (IBS related symptoms) daily. My skin breaks out in itchy hives when I’m exposed to the heat/cold weather. Anytime my body temperature changes my skin reacts and when I workout the same happens. I’ve struggled with these symptoms for over 6 years now and still haven’t found any relief that works for me. My histamine and inflammation levels are very high and my lymphatic system struggles to detox properly. I’m in a lot of pain and discomfort daily as a result. What would you recommend?

I'd like you to work with a health professional like ElizmaLambert.com who will dig deep and find the aggravating factors.

I highly recommend our Histamine Bundle as well. This way you get all our histamine supportive products along with the Histamine Workbook to help guide you.
https://www.seekinghealth.com/products/histamine-bundle

Here is how to use the Bundle:
https://www.seekinghealth.com/cdn/shop/files/Histamine_Bundle-_How_To_Use_-_Guide_2d06591b-1335-479e-ba11-aa4303d86f27.pdf?v=3141829101807406029

Additionally:

  • Bile Nutrients: 2-4 capsules before dinner to support a healthy bowel movement and hormone metabolism.* These are key to support for those struggling with high histamine.

  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner to support healthy cell membranes

  • Vitamin D3+K2: 1 capsule after dinner to support a healthy immune response.*

  • Stress Nutrients: 3 capsules after a protein based breakfast to support a healthy response to stress.* High stress triggers mast cell activation so this is very important to address IF NEEDED. If not needed, then you don't need this supplement. This supplement is wonderfully effective and has a nice effect to it.

This should help you quite a bit.

In health,

Love this product for my almost 6 year old! Recently added a new baby to the family and he seems to always have an upset tummy and gas. Was hoping to use this probiotic with him too but didn’t know how much to use given the product says 4+. Can I safely give this to my breastfed baby? Thank you!

I'm happy you're nearly 6 year old is doing well with ProBiota HistaminX!

Your baby likely needs ProBiota Bifido instead - and use say only 1/4 a capsule - so you can open the capsule and put on a bite of applesauce or into some breastmilk.

Histamine is super supportive of healthy bowel movements.

  • too low of histamine leads to constipation, gas and bloating - which may be what's going on with baby
  • too high of histamine leads to loose stools and diarrhea and weight loss

Additionally, consider:

  • Digestive Enzyme capsules: take 1-2 capsules after each meal for you to support healthy digestion.*
  • Optimal PC: 1 capsule after dinner three nights a week to support healthy breastmilk flow and healthy brain development for baby.* VERY important nutrient.
  • ProBiota Bifido: probiotics actually can pass through breastmilk so you taking 1-2 capsules after dinner to support your baby's healthy microbiome is valid.*
  • Lactase Drops: look into these for baby. You may use directly onto your areola prior to breastfeeding. You may also add to formula or drop directly into baby's mouth to support healthy lactose digestion.* This has saved many moms and babies over the years.

Congratulations to your new addition!

In health,

Dr Lynch, I have had a ballon breath test for Hpylori and I have tested positive for 500 docs put me on triple therapy antibiotics for 7 days and repeated the breath test after 6 weeks this time I tested positive for 3000 which the levels have gone up and docs asked me to do 10 days antibiotics containing PPI'S Amoxicillin and levofloxacin. I suspect I have histamine intolerance, I live in Australia I have used Probiota histamine X in the past, Could you please advise if probiota Histamine X would be suitable for me as I have finished my antibiotics.

I would focus on a couple other things in addition to the ProBiota HistaminX.

Consider:

  • Saccharomyces Boulardii: 5 billion taken after dinner and do this for 2 months to support a healthy microbiome.* This has research support for healthy H pylori levels.*
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after dinner to support a healthy microbiome after the antibiotic use.*
  • Gut Nutrients capsules: very important addition with the zinc carnosine and soothing herbs to support a healthy stomach.* Take 3 capsules upon waking and 3 capsules before bed.

Watch this video done by my friend and colleague Dr. Dan Kalish:

In health,

Hello. I had a total colectomy with j pouch (no colon) about 20 years ago. Would the Probiota HistaminX be suitable for me to take? Thanks.

Yes, ProBiota HistaminX is a great one to use as it has a blend of both lactobacillus and bifidobacter probiotics.

You may also benefit from using Gut Nutrients capsules periodically. Read the product description and see if it's a good fit for you to support a healthy stomach and small intestine.*

In health,

Hello I have severe swollen turbinates all year round and when I lie down these become worse, so I cant sleep much at night. I have done a histamine and a DAO test and all appear fine. But I do have IBS symptoms and do feel particularly clogged up after drinking white beer and red wine, certain mature cheeses etc. Do you think this is still a histamine issue and that this probiotic could help? I have cleaned my environment and it hasnt made that much of a difference, so I am assuming it is an internal issue. During the summer season turbinates feel even heavier with the pollen. Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

I suspect, based on what you're saying, it's more a yeast and fungal response with a histamine component.

DAO and histamine tests are not that great.

A true test would be to actively supplement while you're eating and drinking.

Consider:

  • Histamine Digest: 1 capsule when eating or drinking foods which are known to aggravate you as this supports healthy histamine digestion.*
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after dinner to support healthy histamine levels in your gut which is more lasting than using just Histamine Digest.*
  • Saccharomyces Boulardii: 1 capsule after dinner to support a healthy microbiome and healthy yeast levels.*
  • Air purifier: have this going wherever you are in your home or office to suck up pollen.
  • Neti pot: rinse your sinuses with this using filtered water and some salt in the morning - while in the shower - and you should do midday and before bed as well to wash out the pollen from your sinuses.

In health,

Dr. Lynch, thank you very much. My 12-year-old daughter had severe SIBO. We changed and significantly improved her diet, and it helped a lot, but it wasn't enough. Then we started taking Rifaximin, which improved her dramatically. We also added Probiota HistaminX, which improved dramatically. The improvement was astonishing. After finishing the Rifaximin, we continued to take Probiota HistaminX for 17 more days. She recovered from her rhinitis, sinusitis, constipation, constant sneezing, and runny nose; her skin improved significantly. However, after these 17 days, she started experiencing constipation again. I stopped taking the probiotic for 3 days, and her stools were fine again. However, I didn't want her to stop taking it because it helps a lot with histamine control. Several of the teachers at school have presented with viral infections, and my daughter (this was her first time) hasn't had any. Doctor, please ask me two questions. Why did the probiotic cause constipation? I was thinking of giving it every other day instead of daily. Would that be a good idea? Thank you, Doctor, for helping so many children and families. The entire treatment was guided by a functional pediatrician who recommended your products.

Awesome success! Well done.

High histamine causes loose stools.
Healthy histamine levels cause good digestion and bowel movements.
Low histamine causes constipation.

Thus, she needs less ProBiota HistaminX now that she's doing better.

Consider:

  • ProBiota HistaminX: use as needed and stop when constipation occurs.
  • Bile Nutrients: add this in before dinner - 2 capsules before her dinner. This supports healthy bowel movement, healthy levels of bacteria in the small intestine and healthy digestion.*
  • Hydration. Make sure she is drinking sufficient filtered water. Not soda or fruit juices. And don't drink much during meals. This dilutes digestive enzymes and causes constipation or loose stools depending on what's eaten. Consider adding in electrolytes like Optimal Electrolyte - and drink 1 serving upon waking up in the morning to start her day. Berry and Orange are most popular.

In health,

I purchased this and was really having a good reaction compared to other probiotics I've taken but now between 1 and 2 weeks after starting it I'm having some intense fatigue. Would this be related and do you think it will resolve if I keep taking it? I understand some symptoms can present as bacteria changes. I've backed off it a bit and am going to try to take it less frequently in case I'm just having trouble adjusting. Thanks

I'm glad you're paying attention to how you're responding.

In this case, I'd pause and then restart if needed.

ProBiota HistaminX is quite effective at supporting healthy histamine levels.* If histamine levels drop too low, then one could indeed feel fatigue as histamine is stimulatory.

Please read this article on the Pulse Method
https://www.seekinghealth.com/blogs/education/pulse-method

Key is knowing what symptoms you want to resolve, work on that, once they do resolve, then pause the supplement. Reintroduce the supplement if symptoms return. If they don't return, then don't use that supplement.

In health,

Are these spore based? Will they mostly survive stomach acid and digestion and make it to the large intestine?

All our probiotics are encapsulated in acid-resistant capsules which are designed to protect them from stomach acid.

These are not spore based.

I have not clinically tested ProBiota HistaminX to see if the strains make it to the colon. That said, this probiotic has been one of our top sellers for years and instantly became popular. The results our customers are experiencing speak volumes.

In health,

We stopped the probiotics for a while and had a few courses of antibiotics due to tonsillitis. We usually swap between bifido and histamin x without a problem however since trying to reintroduce this time round ( very small doses) she seems to be experiencing nausea and yellow stools with bifido ( although nausea eased but yellow stools did not after 2 weeks) and acid reflux with histamin x. I restarted histamin x and have been doing every third day - an eighth of a capsule. The day after the dose is given shes complaining of reflux ( only done two doses so far). Should we push through and see if her gut is just readjusting? I feel a little lost as both probiotics were a lifesaver for us in the past.

She needs to support her gallbladder and liver now due to the yellow stools.

Consider:

  • Bile Nutrients: 2-4 capsules before dinner
  • Calcium D Glucarate: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Saccharomyces Boulardii: 1 capsule after dinner

The probiotics can be - and should be - restarted after the above are used for 2-4 weeks.

In health,

Do you think this would be safe to take since I have alpha gal?

I am not sure if these strains have high alpha gal production abilities or not.

I suspect your specialist may know?

I have not heard of any issues but I have not been specifically asked this question.

I checked this but don't find any information regarding probiotics - maybe if you reach out to the website owner they may be able to assist?

In health,

My daughter (4)really struggles with eczema. First we thought it was dry and added a whole house humidifier and more air purifiers in the house. We recently went to a doctor as we’re at a loss and we started antihistamines for the itching, your electrolytes daily. The itching has gone away but her rash is fire hot and red as can be. Which means we’re not done yet. We are going to do igg food tests to see if we’re missing food reactions but at a loss otherwise. The probiotics we used have made it soo much worse and I just want relief for her! Saw this and wondered if this would be appropriate for her??

Definitely stop that probiotic. There are likely histamine-producing strains in it.

Using ProBiota HistaminX provides probiotic strains that do not produce or stimulate histamine.

Instead, ProBiota HistaminX supports healthy levels of histamine so it should be quite beneficial for her.*

Have her take 1 capsule after dinner or open the capsule and put onto a bite of food.

Consider:

  • Vitamin D3+K2 Drops: 10 drops onto a bite of food so it's easy to go down. This provides 5,000 IU of D3 which is needed initially to support a healthy immune response. Do for 1 month then reduce to 4 drops per day.
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule at the end of dinner - open and put onto a bite of food. Can do along with the vitamin D.
  • Go gluten free and cow dairy free.
  • Buy organic foods - read about the Dirty Dozen and the Clean Fifteen by the Environmental Working Group.
  • get a chlorine shower filter for her so when she showers it won't bother her skin or dry her out. Can get on Amazon or local hardware store
  • put a couple tablespoons of vitamin C into bath water to neutralize chlorine before taking a bath or use a bath chlorine filter
  • Glutathione Plus Lozenge: 1/2 a lozenge upon waking each morning
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1/2 a serving twice daily

In health,

Hi Dr. Lynch. I am currently 12 weeks pregnant, & I have been experiencing some very uncomfortable/debilitating symptoms since week 6, due to having a condition called “HG.” I researched, desperate for some relief, because none of the meds given to me by doctors helped—& I also don’t trust or like to rely on western forms of healing. I found information that really stuck out to me, & I wholeheartedly believe that I have a histamine intolerance, along with many gut issues, which have contributed to me getting HG. I also have had a history of acid reflux, bad seasonal allergies/asthma, food oral allergy reactions, GI issues—such as frequent constipation & diarrhea, bloating, gas, face acne, you name it. all of the physical manifestations lead me to believe that histamine is the cause of all these health issues, but I am unaware of why my body is responding this way. I recently ordered the ProBiota HistaminX, & “Dirty Genes” so I can get a better understanding. I also went to my local health food store, 2 days ago, waiting for the supplements I ordered to come. I bought a homeopathic cell salt, that is formulated to stop histamine responses in the body, & I have not been nauseous or vomited like I had been prior to taking it. that was the confirmation I needed to know that I am on the right track. I was hoping to get some insight from you on my situation, & if you have any suggestions for me—please share! I would greatly appreciate the help/guidance, as I am new to this, & am trying to be as healthy as I can for myself, so I can support my baby. thank you so much!

First, congratulations on your pregnancy!

Sorry to hear you're struggling with hyperemesis gravidarum. That's not fun.

Thankfully, we have great information for you.

Read this Morning Sickness Guide fully:
https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0010/0250/4310/files/Morning_Sickness_Guide.pdf?v=1733952644

You're correct that histamine is a big related factor. 100%

Cell salts can be amazing. Glad you found those!

Consider these to further support you:

  • Glutathione Plus Lozenges: 1 lozenge upon waking
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 glass upon waking and another midday
  • Prenatal Essentials MF: 1 capsule after a protein based breakfast and 1 after lunch
  • Histamine Digest: 1 with each meal
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 after dinner
  • Fish Oil: 1 after dinner
  • Histamine Nutrients: 2 capsules before dinner

This combination supports a healthy pregnancy, healthy histamine levels and supports a healthy response to nausea and vomiting of pregnancy.

In health,

My niece swells VERY BAD with any bug bite/sting she gets. Will this help her?

Bug bites stimulate histamine release.

Supporting healthy histamine levels will support a healthy response to bug bites.*

Consider:

  • Glutathione Plus lozenges: 1/2 to 1 upon waking in the morning. Glutathione is needed to support healthy histamine levels.*
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 serving upon waking in the morning and another midday. Hydration is very important for healthy histamine levels.*
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner

This combination should help her have a healthy response to bug bites.*

If she needs further support, due to the supplements above not supporting her enough, consider:

  • low histamine foods and drinks
  • Histamine Nutrients: 1-2 capsules before bed
  • HistaminX: 1-2 capsules upon waking in the morning

This Histamine Guide may help:

In health,

How many billion is this product Bifidobacterium, and how many billion is Lactobacillus?

This is a proprietary blend to protect it.

A number of my formulations have been stolen by other companies so I need now, unfortunately, to not disclose this.

I want to - and used to - but now I cannot due to the plethora of copy cat companies.

In health,

Hi, on November 9 I started the probiota histaminx. Little by little this rash started to show up on my inner lower arm (top of the elbow area), it has become really itchy, medium size and was not there before. Could it be related to the probiotic, why and what should I do? I'm taking one capsule before bed. Thanks so much.

Yes, it may be related.

Why?

When introducing new microbes to your gut, it causes a die-off of existing ones and competition.

This can overwhelm your detoxification systems and liver.

This tells me that we need to support healthy detoxification and your liver.

Consider:

  • Glutathione Plus Lozenge: 1/2 to 1 lozenge upon waking
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 serving upon waking and another midday to support healthy hydration.* Hydrated skin and liver is a must.
  • Bile Nutrients: 2 to 4 capsules before dinner to support a healthy gut and healthy bile production and flow.* This is very commonly needed in women. I also need this due to my genetics.
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner

One could ask: Why don't you just tell me to stop using the probiotic?

ProBiota HistaminX is designed to support a healthy histamine response.* The fact that it may be contributing to itchy skin tells me that there's a fight going on in your digestive system and it has to be dealt with vs ignored.

What I will say is you should PAUSE the use of ProBiota HistaminX for a week or two while you add in the detoxification and hydration support above.

You should notice changes in your skin with a week.

Then, after a week or two, resume the use of ProBiota HistaminX.

If the rash comes back even after the above, then I would indeed stop the use of ProBiota HistaminX.

In health,

Hello Doctor Lynch, Thank you to write the Dirty Gens Book. I’ve learned a lot of . Now I Know I have more than one Dirty Gen. 🧬 . I’ve been facing with a lot Healthy issues. —- > Histaminosis, high estrogens, SiBO. I took th GI Map test and the results showed Helicobacter pylori, Morganella, enterobacter streptococcus high. Also, beta glucoronidase high and Secretory IGA low. I was taking to treat the helicobaxter pylori Metronidazol, amoxicillin and claritromicin during 14 days and lactobacilus Reuteri. After that I was a terrible die off all tha symptoms got worst than the first time. Because I was taking a lactobacilus casei, bovin calustrum (it has dairy) that I already stopped it. I just bought your probiotic Histamin. Thanks to your book. ❤️ I know my MTHFR , DAO, COMT, PEMT, GST/ GPX are dirty. I’m taking Your Electrolytes Liver nutríents 1 capsule at night Calcium d glucarate - 2 capsules a day What do you think about to treat SiBO using Rifaximin, oil oregan and Berberine ? Can I take this treatment at the same time using the Histamin probiotic? Do you recommend me other supplements?

You're welcome and happy you're learning a lot!

I like what you're thinking.

SIBO and many factors going on does require health professional support.

When you start one thing, some things have to stop and then adjust pretty often as you're working through things.

I highly recommend working with ElizmaLambert.com as she's very very good with gut health.

Make an appointment with her and she will help you a lot.

In the meantime, I'm sure she'd agree with me on these things...consider:

  • go 100% gluten free
  • go 100% cow dairy free (you can use goat products)
  • limit eating of nuts, seeds, oils, butter, carbohydrates
  • eat more meat and fruit
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 serving in the morning upon waking and another midday
  • Digestive Enzymes: 2 capsules with each meal
  • Bile Nutrients: 4 capsules before dinner
  • Calcium D Glucarate: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Liver Nutrients: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Saccharomyces Boulardii: 1 capsule after protein based breakfast (I usually recommend this at night but you're taking Ox Bile at night which will kill it likely)
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after your protein based breakfast
  • Ox Bile: 1 capsule before bed

I would hold off on the other three things for now. Let's see how your body responds to a more gentle approach of using probiotics and bile to support a healthy microbiome.

Bile is a natural anti-microbial.

In health,

Hi, I'm hoping you could help me with a bit of a treatment plan. 10 years ago I developed a leaky gut I received care for that, but since then my health has never been the same. I used to have a high stress job but I am no longer in that situation, but I do tend to stress out easily. I have had difficulty falling pregnant through IVF, but I have managed a successful pregnancy through ivf. My fertility specialist has found that I have a 1298 mthfr heterozygous gene mutation and he has put me on methylfolate as well as gluvan- I am not diabetic, my insulin and glucose levels are normal, but he said this mutation interferes with proper metabolisation of sugars. I have food sensitivities particularly to gluten, dairy and corn. I constantly suffer from allergies in the form of sinusitis, dry eyes, itchy eyes, sensitive skin. I also suffer from brain fog and energy dips throughout the day which improve when I manage my lifestyle. I recently found out that my liver was not functioning well through liver blood tests, but I have managed to get those blood results in a normal range now. I also found out I had low iron which has also been rectified. My cholesterol was high which has been rectified. My gut doesn't really bother me provided that I avoid certain foods as mentioned above, my stool is slightly loose but otherwise bowel movements seem normal. Stress does cause IBS to act up again. My blood pressure tends to be in the range of 98/68. If I eat gluten I become very inflamed to the point that my skin becomes tender. If I eat dairy and fermented foods my gut becomes problematic. I also get heart palpitations/ racing heart when I eat gluten or high gi foods. I have however been doing all the fundamental work you have spoken about to improve my health. I will be doing another round of IVF early next year and I would like to balance my body as much as possible. After finding out about the gene mutation I have been researching mthfr and I have listened to hours of your videos on mthfr, histamine intolerance, gut health etc. I have ordered your book, but I live in south Africa so it will take a while to arrive. I am looking to order supplements through iherb, but I worry that I am looking at too many, or maybe not?? I suspect that I have histamine intolerance, caused by poor gut health which were both caused by high stress environment I was in 10 years ago which has gone misdiagnosed and has never fully healed. Besides a mild dairy I tolerance I was perfectly healthy prior to that incident. The supplement list I am looking at was mostly taken from one of your lecturers on gut health and seems to fit my symptoms. Adrenal cortex Lithium rotate Histamine block Histamine nutrients Histaminx Probiota histaminx Pqq lozenge Digestive enzymes Ox bile Gall bladder nutrients Calcium D glucarate- struggling to find Optimal pc- struggling to find Gut nutrients Optimal. Electrolyte Possibly also Liver nutrients Glutathione plus Fish oil Saccharomyces boulardii I am ordering from south Africa and in addition to being costly I have to wait about a month to receive the nutrients. I would really appreciate a guide on which would be the best treatment protocol for my situation. Unfortunately I have not been able find any practitioner's in south Africa which follow your treatment protocols. However I do believe that they could really help me, I am hopeful to finally feel normal again, Many thanks

Given that there is a plan that needs to be determined, I recommend working with ElizmaLambert.com

She's actually from South Africa but now lives in Australia.

She's awesome, knows my work very well, knows the Seeking Health supplement line and is exceptional at problem solving.

I believe it's best to have guidance from her vs ordering a bunch of supplements which may or may not work - while not addressing the underlying causes.

Let's get you right :)

In health,

Hello, besides helping with histamine intolerance, can this probiotic kill harmful bacteria too? and do they cause die off when doing it? thanks so much.

Probiotics secrete chemokines and bacteriocins which may be harmful to other bacteria, yes.

They may certainly increase die-off and what's known as 'remodeling' when first introduced into the gut.

I recommend taking probiotics after dinner or before bed to minimize the die-off symptoms.

Additionally, if die-off symptoms are occurring, consider:

  • Glutathione Plus lozenge: 1/2 to 1 lozenge in the morning upon waking to support healthy detoxification.*
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 serving upon waking to support healthy hydration and healthy bowel movements which are key for a healthy gut.*
  • Liver Nutrients: 1 capsule after dinner to support healthy detoxification which is needed during remodeling.*

In health,

Hi Dr. Lynch, quick question: how long would you recommend to take the probiota histaminX for just for regular maintenance? I mean to balance the microbiome without causing any imbalance?

I'm helping out answering some of the questions we are receiving :).

Probiotics typically do what they do whilst you are taking them. They don't colonize the gut so they don't create imbalances.

At least I haven't seen that in my practice.

Once you stop taking them they are typically gone within 1 - 2 weeks. This doesn't mean they can't have lasting beneficial effects though.

For instance, ProBiota HistaminX contains a lot of Bifido species which are acetate (a short-chain fatty acid) producers. Acetate feeds other beneficial species such as Faecalibacterium prausnitzii which is a butyrate (another short-chain fatty acid) producer.*

Here are some suggestions:

  • You can take it for as long as you need it.
  • If your gut is good then you can decide to take it every other day for maintenance.
  • If your histamine symptoms are gone and a stool test shows you have a balanced microbiome, you may not need it at all.

Keep in mind our gut microbiome can change quickly and at any time depending on what we eat, or don't eat, medications we are taking, etc. Things change.

So if you don't need it now, you may need it again in future.

All the best :)

Hello.. I decided to take this blend of probiotics due to Research , as this blend is low in histamine. Did you formulate it that way because of this? I've Opened the capsule and put it on food at dinner, but Today, during the day I decided to open the capsule and pour into water so that I could get a quicker effect in my stomach. I'm trying to heal & alleviate gut symptoms ( gurgling, pain, gas) As i'm dealing with histamine intolerance/autoimmune issues. Do you think I should take this more than once per day because I'm dealing with heavy issues rather than maintenance? And do you think pouring it into the water would give me better results? I am also taking Dao, Enzymes, quercetin/bromelain, curcumin to name a few. Please let me know what you think. Thank you❣️

I formulated ProBiota HistaminX to support healthy histamine levels in the microbiome and thus the whole body.*

We have our probiotics in acid-resistant capsules to protect the probiotics from stomach acid. Stomach acid kills beneficial and harmful bacteria.

I recommend taking 1 capsule of ProBiota HistaminX after dinner - and still in the capsule.

If you're dealing with gut symptoms of pain and gas, consider:

  • Gut Nutrients: 3 capsules upon waking and 3 before bed.
  • Bile Nutrients: 2-4 capsules before dinner
  • Digestive Enzymes: 2 capsules with each meal
  • Histamine Digest: 1 capsule with each meal
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Vitamin D3+K2: 1 capsule after dinner

This is an effective supportive plan to help your gut more effectively than just the probiotic.

I see you're taking those other supplements - I'm not sure of their quality which is why I'm recommending the ones I know are effective.

In health,

I love this probiotic, but I'm finding after taking it once a day for months that I'm struggling with constipation. I want to be taking a probiotic as I struggle with leaky gut and so many food sensitivities. My microbiome was destroyed by doctors pumping me up with antibiotics a few years ago. Are there other probiotics I should try/rotate with?

I'm glad you're aware that it may be the probiotic :)

ProBiota HistaminX has done its job for you and now you need to shift.

If you found that it helped you and now it's not, it's time to switch around.

Histamine in healthy amounts supports a healthy bowel movement. If you lower histamine too much, you cannot have a healthy bowel movement - you become constipated.

Thus, consider:

  • stopping ProBiota HistaminX for now and only restart if you start getting the original symptoms that got you to start using it in the first place
  • ProBiota Bifido: take 1 after dinner
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 serving upon waking and another one midday. Hydration is key as is additional magnesium which are both found here.
  • Bile Nutrients: 4 capsules before dinner to support healthy bowel movement and bile flow.
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner

This should help quite a bit and within 24 hours.

In health,

Approximately how long after dinner should I wait to take it so my dinner doesn’t interfere with it? OR Should I wait and take it at bed time?

You may take it right after dinner or before bed. I change it up.

In health,

Is it D-lactate free? Do these strains produce D-lactate acidosis? I've been taking it for 15 days, on one hand i have big benefits on my histamine issues and urogenital infections, but on the other hand i experience a lot of fatigue, brain fog and constipation/no firmed stools. Any tip?

Lacto species can produce lactate.

The issue with lactate is it's produced mostly by your own body when fuels are scare in regards to exercise or mitochondria aren't working well.

Die-off can happen with probiotics - along with what's called Remodeling.

Remodeling is a period of time when one set of microbes die off and the good ones work to replace them. This causes release of lots of gasses and compounds that aren't nice to us - causing us brain fog, fatigue and altered bowel movements.

Consider:

  • Gut Nutrients: take 3 upon waking and 3 before bed
  • Glutathione Plus: 1/2 lozenge upon waking
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 serving upon waking and another serving later in the day
  • Bile Nutrients: 2 to 4 capsules before dinner
  • ProBiota HistaminX: continue with 1 capsule after dinner

This combination will support your healthy gut, healthy brain and healthy energy.*

You should realize the benefits within 24 to 48 hours.

In health,

Hello! Are these capsules ok to consume for someone who has an intolerance to dairy?

Yes they are.

I recommend taking 1 capsule after dinner. That's the best time.

In health,

can you tell me if Probiota histamineX contains any form of B6/ Pyridoxine? I am asking after suffering from B6 toxicity. Thank you

It does not.

Additionally, consider:

  • Bile Nutrients: 2 to 4 capsules before bed as this supports healthy bile production and flow.* This is important for healthy B6 levels.

In health,

I have been looking for a probiotic such as this for my 21 month old toddler. He has relentless eczema despite AIP diets and many lifestyle changes. Would there be a way to dose this so I could feel safe giving this to him?

I'd use this yes.

Consider:

  • ProBiota HistaminX: open 1 capsule and mix in a bite of food like organic applesauce. Do during dinner time. Do for a month then reduce to 1/2 a capsule.
  • Vitamin D3+K2 Drops: give him 2 drops a day any time of day or night for a month then drop down to 1 drop a day.
  • Histamine Digest: open 1/2 capsule and give it to him with each meal in a bite of food.

Keep me posted.

In health,

Hi High dose antibiotics in 2019, antibiotics 2 months. My gut hasn't been as it used to been since then. It's better with supplement, Optimal prenatal Colostrum Optimal electrolytes Gallbladder nutrients Probiotics bifido Digest enzymes My gut is better but not optimal. Doing my best with diet. Should I change to this supplement and take more? Or saccharomyces boulardii? Thanks

I'm glad to hear your gut is doing better ;)

A couple things may support your healthy gut:*

  • Gut Nutrients: take 3 capsules right before bed and 3 capsules right upon waking up in the morning to support a healthy gut lining.*
  • Saccharomyces Boulardii: take 2 capsules after dinner until the bottle is gone then stop.
  • Gallbladder Nutrients: take 2 to 4 capsules before dinner. You may need to take all 4 before dinner to get the desired support needed.

These tweaks should help a lot.

Keep me posted.

In health,

My daughter has used PB HistaminX for a few months now. I recently read that L.rhamnosus might be helpful, too. She has a histamine intolerance, so I am wondering if it would cause histamine issues alone? I see it listed in your PB Woman blend and also wonder about the effect of the additional biotics included with it? Thanks

I've often wanted to add in L. rhamnosus to ProBiota HistaminX but I haven't as the formulation is so effective by itself that I'm afraid to add it.

That said, go for it. Add it in.

Additionally, consider:

  • Gallbladder Nutrients: 2 capsules before dinner
  • ProBiota HistaminX: continue with 1 capsule after dinner
  • Saccharomyces Boulardii: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Vitamin D3+K2: 1 capsule after any meal of the day - once a day
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 to 2 servings a day.

In health,

Hello! My son is 10 and has struggled with gastrointestinal issue ever since he was a baby. (Bloating, constipation as a baby.) He really hasn’t struggled with those issues since toddlerhood. But recently, he has been complaining of stomach cramps after eating. It seems these issues occur more when he has had sweets. What would you recommend for his gut health? Thank you!

If he's reacting more to sweets then it may be that he has an overgrowth of bacteria or candida that thrive on sugar.

Some of these organisms can produce histamine and some can stimulate histamine release. Either of these scenarios may increase gut histamine and symptoms such as abdominal cramps.*

My suggestions:

  • ProBiota HistsaminX: Take 1 capsule with or without meals at any time of the day.
  • Histamine Digest: Take 1 capsule with meals.

If his cramps come within 2 hours of eating, then I would also suggest:

  • Ox Bile: Take 1 capsule at night before bed on an empty stomach. But don't take at the same time as ProBiota HistaminX.

If his symptoms do not resolve, consider working with a healthcare practitioner and getting a stool test to see what may be (or may not be) growing in his gut.

All the best :)

How many of the Probiota HistaminX can you take in one dose? Thinking about, if needing to take higher doses to help increase very low lacto and bifido levels?

You can take more than 1 capsule in a single dose, but taking more may not necessarily increase your levels of lacto and bifido bacteria.

It's also important to consume foods that feed these bacterial species so that they grow and multiply. These include foods high in B vitamins and plant-based fibers such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

Taking a ProBiota HistaminX capsule when you consume a high-fiber meal may be a more effective way to increase these bacterial species.

Regards,

Hi Dr Ben, thank you for all you do . I’ve been taking the probiota histamix , 1 bottle , and I’m wondering if I should reorder the same ones or switch to a different type. I recall you mentioning that it's beneficial to change probiotics occasionally. if I do need to change which one should I take? should I take a different one every month ? I’ve also been taking the glutathione lozenges in the morning. I started with half a dose but didn’t notice any effects, so I’ve been taking a full one first thing in the morning. However, I still don’t feel the changes you mentioned during your presentations regarding glutathione. Could this be because my glutathione levels are completely depleted, or should I consider increasing the dosage? How can I tell if it’s working? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your guidance!

If you're experiencing benefits still from using ProBiota HistaminX, I'd continue.

If you have flat lined, then consider switching to ProBiota Woman or ProBiota Bifidobacterium.

In terms of the glutathione, I suspect you need something a bit more powerful.

You can do 1 of two things:

  • Glutathione Plus Lozenge: take 1 two to three times a day
  • Brain Nutrients Lozenge: take 1 lozenge along with 1 lozenge of Glutathione Plus. Then take likely another 1/2 to 1 lozenge with another Glutathione Plus lozenge later in the day - say early afternoon.

Additionally, you may be dehydrated.

Dehydration prevents one from feeling benefits of glutathione as the brain doesn't work as well.

Consider adding Optimal Electrolyte: 1 serving upon waking and then another serving later in the afternoon along with your second use of the Glutathione Plus and Brain Nutrients.

Now you should feel something ;)

In health,

Thank you in advance for your help! I have combed through the questions and answers and I am amazed at all the knowledge. I am 39 years old. For almost a year now I have been dealing with flushed skin on my cheeks and chin. My family doctor found high histamine levels in my lab draw and suggested Zyrtec. I took it and it helped for awhile, but then it stopped helping. I didn't like the idea of taking it long-term, as I wanted to address the root cause. It got so bad to where anything that touched my face made my face very red and my skin burned (even eating was difficult) and my lips were also affected - my lips were puffy and raw and felt like they were burning and even wiping them with a napkin was torture. I sought help from a functional med doctor and she ordered a GI map; she found h.pylori (we treated that with mastic gum and oregano oil) and incomplete food digestion (I am taking a pancreatic enzyme with every meal). She suspected histamine intolerance and perhaps MCAS. I have been a eating low-histamine diet, but I have not yet eliminated dairy and gluten. Early on in this skin trouble I discovered your ProBiota HistamineX and I began taking that every evening. Since working with the functional med doctor I have seen a lot of improvement, but I am still struggling with skin issues. The lip rash/irritation has almost completely cleared up but I am still breaking out in hives (heat seems to be the main trigger for that), and my scalp is extremely itchy (unless my hair has been recently washed). Besides heat (and I live in Texas, so much for avoiding heat altogether!) I have noticed stress is a trigger, and some foods seem to trigger it as well. Some days it seems like anything I eat triggers the facial burning/flushing. It is extremely difficult to pinpoint triggers when the flushing/burning is almost constant with no relief - even 5 minutes after waking in the morning it's already begun. I have started taking your Histamine Digest prior any time I eat anything or drink my coffee. I have also tried to address environmental triggers (I use fragrance-free laundry detergent and plain foaming castille hand soap, I do not wear makeup, I switched to a silk pillowcase, and I eliminated plastic from my kitchen). It may be related, but this week I noticed my vitamins had what seemed to be very high amounts of B (methylated) - several years ago I had a very bad lip rash (burning, cracking, swollen lips) and thought it was a b-deficiency so I added in a methylated hefty multi and methylated b complex, but now I'm wondering if the large amounts of B are contributing to this issue? I'm afraid of that previous lip rash coming back but I stopped taking my multi and the B for these few days to see if it helps with the facial burning/flushing. Thank you for reading my long history, I appreciate any advice you have for what to try or add in next! My husband and I are hoping for more children, so anything you recommend please let me know if it's safe for pregnancy or if it should be avoided during pregnancy. Thank you again so much!

Sounds like you're making solid incremental improvements - well done.

Next steps would be:

  • stopping your methylated B vitamins
  • being committed to 100% gluten and cow dairy free for 14 days and journal improvements and changes. It's easy to go gluten-free now. I essentially follow a paleo style diet so it's low carb. I use goat dairy products.
  • Stress Nutrients: 3 capsules with breakfast
  • check your estrogen levels -especially if your hives are worse just prior to ovulation
  • Gallbladder Nutrients: 4 capsules before dinner to support bile production and bile flow which is key for gut health and often overlooked
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Gut Nutrients capsules: 4 capsules before bed to support a healthy gut and stomach lining.*
  • Continue with Histamine Digest with meals
  • Continue with digestive enzymes and look at my Digestive Enzymes formulation to see if that's more comprehensive as it does protein, fat and carbs.
  • Continue with ProBiota HistaminX after dinner
  • Get a chlorine shower filter that removes chlorine - https://amzn.to/4d7bYQT
  • Glutathione Plus Lozenge: use 1/2 to 1 lozenge upon waking in the morning
  • Histamine Nutrients: 2 capsules before bed to support healthy histamine break down.*
  • Look for mold in your house, car, work

Report back in about a month. You should notice significant improvements.

In health,

Hi I am wondering how much to give my 16 month old who is 20 lb and struggling with histamine reactions? Thank you

You may open the capsule and sprinkle 1/2 the capsule into their mouth. You may also pour some on your clean and dry finger and have them nurse it from your finger. The taste is pretty decent.

I highly recommend for you - if you are nursing:

  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after dinner for you
  • Histamine Digest: 1 capsule with meals to support healthy histamine levels in the gut which then support healthy histamine levels in breastmilk.*
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner for you to help support healthy fats which support healthy cell membranes and then healthy histamine levels.*
  • Vitamin D3+K2: 1 to 2 capsules after dinner for you to help support healthy vitamin D levels which then get passed on to baby.*

In health,

My son is taking Doxycline for an infection he got from a bug bites. Which probiotics he should take to maintain gut health?

I suggest:

  • Saccharomyces Boulardii: The typical dose is 1 capsule a day with food. However, I recommend you give him 2 capsules morning and night if he's over 12 years of age whilst he is taking Doxycycline and for about 1 month afterward.
  • Probiota Bifidobacterium: Take 2 capsules per day with or without food.

You may also give him Gut Nutrients (powder or capsules) if his digestion is a bit off with or after the antibiotics.

All the best :).

Regards,

My sister she's 8 weeks pregnant and suffers from pregnancy nausea, you know the bad one, pucking many times a day. I read about molybdenum but not sure... I remember you've said it could be cuz of high histamine. She already taking one cap at night, should she take some more? How can we support her, feeling not depressed? Thanks.

I highly recommend a few things here:

  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Histamine Digest: take any time of day or night any time as needed. This one is key. She can take this multiple times of day.
  • Histamine Nutrients: take 2 capsules before bed to support healthy histamine levels.*

In health,

Wondering is this is the right product to start with for my 14yo. She has sensory issues (touch, smells, taste) which have limited her diet to a handful of [less than desirable] foods, so eating is a major challenge. She also experiences a lot of nausea when eating, headaches, constipation, mood disregulation and poor sleep. Issues with seasonal and environmental allergies, sneezing, congestion/runny nose, bloody noses, hives, as well as hives from cold air (ie. sticking hand out the car window when chilly breeze). After getting covid a few years ago, her sense of taste and smell was altered and further exasperated her sensory issues so we have to be very mindful of the taste, texture and smell of anything we give her as it can cause nausea, anxiety, and even panic. We have tried to work with Dr's, RD's, nutritionists, etc, but have yet to find one that understands how debilitating the sensory disregulation really is. Any suggestions on where we should start to support her poor system are greatly appreciated!

I hear you.

Consider:

  • Glutathione Plus lozenge: 1/2 to 1 lozenge upon waking and possibly again later in the day as well
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Histamine Digest: 1 capsule with meals

Start here and check back in.

In health,

Hi Dr Lynch! I've noticed you no longer have the powder version of this probiotic. I loved that it had 25 billion CFU vs the 10 billion CFU in the pill form. I use it for my children and they seemed to tolerate the higher CFU's. I now just open the 1 capsule and put it in their food but it doesnt seem to be as effective. Should I give them 2 pills or Do you have a recommendation for another probiotic that is closer to 25 billion CFU? Thank you!!

You may open the capsule and use 2-3 capsules in a bite of food.

Always give the probiotics after a meal - not before.

Stomach acid can kill probiotics.

So taking them on a bite of food at the end of their meal is way better than before or between.

In health,

I just ordered this probiotic from Pure Formulas. However, since this seems to involve fermented ingredients, I would like to know if it contains any yeast ingredients. Thank you.

There are no yeast ingredients in ProBiota HistaminX. It is well tolerated and appreciated by many who are needing healthy histamine support.*

In health,

What would be a serving size for children age 10

1 capsule after dinner works great.

It's the frequency you're looking for.

You want healthy bowel movements that are well formed and easy to pass.

If your child starts getting constipation, reduce the frequency by 1/2 - say every other day or take a few days off.

In health,

Strong allergic reaction after just 3 days I didn't think I would have a severe allergic reaction to the probiotic. My face is red, my eyes are tearing heavily, and I have allergic symptoms in the gastrointestinal area that I only have when I have used herbs. Since I eat a carnivore diet and have eliminated everything except meat, salt and water from my diet, I haven't had this reaction in a long time. Thanks to the probiotic. Once again, more appearance than reality.

It sounds like you may have a case of SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) if a similar experience occurs when using herbs. Individuals with SIBO tend to not do well with herbs, fruits, or vegetables due to the fiber and salicylate content. They also may not do well with any kind of pro- or prebiotics, even if they are low histamine.

My suggestion would be to try Ox Bile instead. Take 1 capsule on an empty stomach before bed and any other time of the day when an empty stomach allows to help support healthy small intestine microbiome levels.

It may also be worthwhile to work with a health practitioner that can test and treat you for SIBO, and maybe even measure your gut microbiome organisms. Whilst a carnivore diet can be useful short term to reduce symptoms, long term it changes your gut microbiome and you lose diversity.

The aim is to have you able to eventually eat a wide variety of foods to support a diverse gut microbiome for long-term health.

Hello I have taken 33 of the HIFAS Microbiota tablets and have increasingly difficult symptoms. I now have regular diarrhoea, more or less every other day instead of weekly, and can hardly eat anything without experiencing discomfort in my stomach and digestive track. As a result I'm eating less and less and losing weight. This is worse than before I started taking the tablets. Could I be reacting to anything in them and should I stop taking them? I’d appreciate your help with this. Thanks

I am not sure if you are saying you're experiencing diarrhea from taking ProBiota HistaminX or another probiotic.

I am not sure what HIFAS Microbiota tablets are.

If you're experiencing these symptoms from taking ProBiota HistaminX, stop using them.

I'd also ask your health professional to order a comprehensive stool test to see if you have dysbiosis as it seems there's something going on.

I suspect you have a bug that is causing issues as this probiotic would not contribute to those symptoms.

In health,

Acid REFLUX Hi Dr Lynch, I’m a big fan of all your products and want my husband to start taking them also. He has a feeling for over a year now of like a lump in his throat, it’s there and then it’s gone, then back again. He checked his thyroid and it’s all good. He did used to have hearburns from acid reflux, now he doesn’t have the chest pain sensation, just the lump feeling in his throat. I’m aware of Manuka honey, avoiding tomatos, coffee, alcohol… but it’s not going away. What else could he do? Please help🙏 and which supplements from Seeking Helath would you recommend taking? Yesterday I started giving him Probiota Histaminx in the evening..

What he's experiencing may be globus sensation.

While globus sensation is generally benign and not a cause for serious concern, it is essential to seek medical advice if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  • Pain in the throat or neck
  • Difficulty swallowing or choking
  • Visible or palpable lumps
  • Weight loss
  • Muscle weakness
  • Progressive worsening of symptoms

I'd get it imaged to be safe.

You're good in your thinking to start using ProBiota HistaminX after dinner.

I'd also consider adding in some healthy mental stress support especially if your husband is experiencing this.

  • Stress Nutrients: 3 capsules in the morning with a protein based breakfast to support a healthy response to stress.*
  • Gallbladder Nutrients: 2 capsules before dinner to support healthy digestion which if not, can cause back pressure and lead to acid reflux.*
  • Histamine Digest: if it's high histamine, this supports healthy histamine levels.* He will know after a couple days of use if this is helping or not.
  • Gut Nutrients: 3 capsules before bed and 2 capsules upon waking in the morning - first thing - to support healthy lining of his esophagus and stomach.*

In health,

Hi Since I started taking ProBiota HistaminX, I have had trouble falling asleep and sometimes sleep very late at night and restlessly. In addition, I most days have the feeling of incomplete bowl movements. Will this stabilize? And if I should try taking the product at a different time of day, what would you recommend?

I like your idea of taking it in the morning after breakfast vs after dinner.

I'd also consider working a bit deeper and more thoroughly on your gut health.

Consider:

  • Gallbladder Nutrients: 2 to 4 capsules before dinner to support healthy bowel movements and healthy sleep.*
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner

In health,

Hi Dr. Lynch, I had covid 1 year ago. It attacked my whole nervous system. I have had ringing in my ears since covid. I started this product about 6 days ago. Some days, not every day, when I take it, the ringing gets louder. No other adverse effects. I would like to keep taking this in hopes it helps in time, unless you feel otherwise. I am very sensitive to medications and supplements, especially the methyls. Many supplements cause anxiety. My entire nervous system is very sensitive since covid including bad nausea and brain fog in stressful situations. I suspect dysautonomia/vagus nerve issues and have started taking choline. Any other ways to support and calm my nervous system? Thank you!

I hear you.

Consider:

  • Glutathione Plus Lozenges: 1/4 to 1/2 lozenge first thing upon waking in the morning.*
  • Optimal Focus: 1/2 to 1 capsule with breakfast to support healthy acetylcholine levels.* The virus blocks acetylcholine receptors and acetylcholine is a very important parasympathetic neurotransmitter - your most important one.
  • stop the choline because you're getting it in the Optimal Focus along with other key nutrients for healthy acetylcholine levels.*
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Histamine Digest: 1 capsule with meals to support a healthy inflammation response in your gut and overall body and to support healthy histamine levels.* If experiencing constipation, reduce how often you are taking it. As you improve, you will need less of this.

In health,

Dear Dr Lynch, just to double check, my husband is allergic to citric acid. He’s ok taking all the supplements recommended? And should he also take extra magnesium? He has leg cramps also in the night. One of the recommended supplements by you has magnesium so don’t know what’s the daily limit? This is what you recommended him taking: I'd also consider adding in some healthy mental stress support especially if your husband is experiencing this. Stress Nutrients: 3 capsules in the morning with a protein based breakfast to support a healthy response to stress.* Gallbladder Nutrients: 2 capsules before dinner to support healthy digestion which if not, can cause back pressure and lead to acid reflux.* Histamine Digest: if it's high histamine, this supports healthy histamine levels.* He will know after a couple days of use if this is helping or not.

We don't add citric acid to our supplements.

He should consider the Optimal Electrolyte if he's experiencing leg cramps - drink 1 serving in the morning upon waking and another later in the day if needed. Add more salt say 1/4 tsp if he is sweating a lot and not eating sufficient salt on his food otherwise no added salt.

He will likely not need an additional magnesium supplement on top of what's suggested above.

Magnesium is very safe to take.

In health,

Wondering if this is the product to take if I'm trying not to take antiacids or PPIs which the stomach doctor prescribes. [ i do not take unless im feeling severe acid ] since trying to get pregnant but having acid reflux from time to time. Also have a sulcrose intolerance?

This is a good one to start with, yes.

High histamine increases stomach acid production. By supporting healthy histamine levels, you're supporting healthy amounts of stomach acid.*

I have a few more recommendations for you for various reasons:

  • ProBiota HistaminX: take 1 after dinner each night to support a healthy histamine level in your microbiome.*
  • Histamine Digest: take 1 with meals if you need additional support. I highly recommend this as well to support healthy nausea due to intermittent moments of morning sickness.*
  • Digestive Enzymes: take 1-2 capsules with meals where you feel you need additional support for healthy absorption and digestion of fat, protein and carbohydrates.* Reflux can be due to back pressure caused by food not digesting well.

Side note:

  • make sure your partner supports healthy fertility by taking 2 capsules of Optimal Man with breakfast, and, if needing more afternoon support, another 2 capsules with lunch. This is key for healthy sperm and healthy fertility in men.

In health,

I started my daughter on Histamin X and her abdominal cramping has totally vanished and reflux has reduced by 98%, her stool colour has gone from golden/green to a normal brown shade. She is only on a quarter of a capsule every 2 days as she does not tolerate the full amount ( we trialled it a few months back and ran in to constipation and bloating again). Her only side effect of the probiotic currently is bloating (she is not uncomfortable with it but I can visibly see her belly is swollen). On the other side all her symptoms have almost resolved. We’re nearly 3 weeks in now. Is there a chance the bloat will resolve itself or should we move on to bifido? Thank you!

I believe the bloat will resolve. I am not sure it's a good idea to switch her given that her symptoms have improved so well with ProBiota HistaminX.

We need to make sure she is pooping every day and ideally twice a day.

I'd consider giving her 1 capsule of Gallbladder Nutrients before dinner to support healthy bowel movements.* This may help resolve the bloating as well if her transit time is too slow.

  • Histamine Digest: if it's high histamine, this supports healthy histamine levels.* He will know after a couple days of use if this is helping or not.

In health,

Hey Dr Lynch! I started taking this tonight as recommended by you on a previous post in regards to my sinus issues etc. and I took 1 capsule after eating dinner and within about 20 min I started having restless legs, hot flashes, and now I'm wide awake way past my normal bedtime. I did some digging online and seen others have had similar issues after taking probiotics. Have you heard of this happening, and if so do you know why it could be happening? I'm 5'5" female, 128 lbs 36 y/o. MTHFR heterozygous 677t, slow NOS3, complicated GPX and GST, intermediate COMT and MAOA, and "checked, nothing found" on DAO and PEMT. Not sure if you needed all that info, but figured too much info is better than not enough! Thank you :)

I'm guessing here but if one has a dirty NOS3 and they lower their histamine levels, it may lead to reduced nitric oxide perfusion and contribute to a myriad of symptoms.

I don't see how ProBiota HistaminX can otherwise do that unless there is something going on with die-off in your microbiome.

I recommend talking with your doctor and measure your hormone levels of progesterone, estrogen and cortisol. You may do well with some progesterone cream at bed time.

I wish I could help more but I don't see a mechanism beyond the above - and the ones I did share don't really match with your symptoms.

In health,

Hi Dr. Lynch! I need some guidance on what I should take and where I should start with my health please! I’m guessing I need to start with my gut health but that may be in correct. Some background on myself. Have not had a gall bladder for 17 years. I have asthma, hypothyroidism ( I take armour thyroid for this), rosacea, raynauds as well as an oat allergy. Have extremely sensitive skin and seem to be sensitive to most supplements. I also experience loose stools daily. I currently take a probiotic and digestive enzymes from an online only company, but nothing seems to help with the loose stools, dizziness, fatigue and brain fog. I do know I cannot take saccharomyces Boulardii, it exacerbates my symptoms x10. Any and all suggestions you could give me would be very much appreciated! If your recommendations involve more than 1 supplement could you please let me know which one to start with. Since I am so sensitive to supplements I like to start with just using 1 and see how I react to it, then add in more as I go. Thank you so much!

If one is very sensitive to supplements, it points to gut health.

I highly recommend working with a health professional like a naturopathic physician who specializes in gut health.

There is one supplement that I think you may consider and do well with:

  • Histamine Digest: consider 1 capsule with each of your meals to support healthy histamine levels.*

I think you should stop that other probiotic as it may be aggravating you. Digestive enzymes may also be problematic for some depending on the ingredients.

Start with the Histamine Digest, stop the other two supplements and see how you go.

In health,

I just bought your probiota histaminX. Can you please tell me a little more how it works? How does it help my body to reduce histamine? I struggle with low diaminoxidas, and some mastcell activation. I learned a lot reading the book dirty genes. Its great to understand how things work in the body and not just take a pill that fix things. I would love to know more about how your product works in the body.

ProBiota HistaminX supports healthy histamine levels as it uses specific strains of probiotics that:*

  • do not increase histamine release
  • do not increase histamine production
  • may modulate healthy histamine production
  • may create an environment that is unhealthy for histamine producing bacteria thereby reducing their population

For low diamine oxidase, I recommend using Histamine Digest with meals as it supports healthy DAO levels.

For mast cell activation, I highly recommend reading the Histamine Workbook. It helps identify what steps should be taken to get better.

In health,

Dr. Ben, Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question and for your recommendations. I'm going to order the products, but I forgot to mention that my mom also takes Benazepril HCL 5mg for high blood pressure. I read that NAC could lower blood pressure. Should I make any changes to your recommendations because of her BP medication? Additionally, the doctor said she needs to drink a lot of water throughout the day because she's taking Jardiance. Should I add the optimal electrolyte, and if so, when should she take it? To clarify, if no changes are needed, this is her protocol: Take NAC, gut nutrients, Saccharomyces boulardii, and gallbladder nutrients along with the antibiotics. Start Probiota HistaminX after she finishes the antibiotics. Thank you. I look forward to your response so I can order the products and start the Pylori antibiotics protocol.

As one increases their health status, blood pressure may improve.

Supporting a healthy liver supports healthy blood pressure.

What I recommend is monitoring her blood pressure as she works on her health and talking with her doctor to make any adjustments if needed.

She should definitely add in the Optimal Electrolyte. She can take it 1-3 times a day as needed anytime of day just don't take it within 4 hours of bedtime as it may affect her sleep with healthy energy.*

Note on the NAC: it's a mucolytic so it is known to break mucous membranes. If she experiences nose bleeds (dry mucous membranes), very dry eyes (dry mucous membranes), dry mouth, or smells of sulfur in her stool, gas or breath or skin, then reduce the NAC to once a day or every other day 1 capsule. In the beginning, say the first week or so, she will be fine but she may need to adjust down on the NAC as she goes.

In health,

Hello again, could this be too much for me? Day 5 and tonight I got bright red and itchy and sinus drainage. I also just started taking Saccharomyces Boulardii and calcium-d-glucarate. Originally I reached out about actino and CIRS. Thank you so much for your time.

I suspect you may need to talk with your doctor about your sinus health.

The supplements support your healthy sinuses - they would not contribute to what you're experiencing.

In health,

Hi Dr. Ben, I hope you're doing well, and thank you for all the information that you share online. I have a question regarding my mom, who is diabetic and has been experiencing severe reflux and constipation. She was recently prescribed Jardiance and famotidine and a test this week confirmed a positive result for H. pylori. The doctor is prescribing Clarithromycin 500 mg, Amoxicillin 500 mg, and Famotidine for her treatment. However, I'm concerned about the impact of these antibiotics on her digestive issues. Additionally, she's been having cramps in her legs at night, which are affecting her sleep. Could you please recommend any alternative treatments for H. pylori that might be gentler on her system? Or If she must take antibiotics, what products/ supplements should she take alongside or after them to help her digestive issues and support her gut health Thank you. I look forward to your advice.

Triple antibiotic therapy can be useful for H pylori especially if supported with additional nutrients.

Consider:

  • NAC: take 1 capsule 2-3 times a day with a bite of food to support a healthy biofilm amount.*
  • Gut Nutrients: take 2-3 capsules upon waking in the morning and 2-3 capsules before bed at night to support a healthy gut lining.*
  • Saccharomyces boulardii: consider 2 capsules after dinner to support a healthy microbiome during the time of taking antibiotics.* This is very important.
  • Gallbladder Nutrients: take 2 capsules before dinner to support healthy bile production and bile flow which is needed for healthy bowel movements and digestion.*
  • ProBiota HistaminX: once antibiotics are done, consider taking 2 capsules after dinner for a couple weeks then down to 1 capsule for maintenance to support a healthy microbiome.*

In health,

Hey Dr Lynch! So I am going to try and make this short, but I am slightly desperate on trying to figure out how to manage my sinus pressure/ear dysfunction issues. I have been to 2 different ENTs, and have had several tests done, and basically no one know what's wrong with me and tells me to use Flonase and Zyrtec and that's about it. My current ENT told me if the Flonase and Zyrtec doesn't work (which its not) that he wants me to get tubes in September which I am trying to avoid. I have not had these issues my whole life, and more started in my 20s. Basically I get pressure in my cheek bones area, around my eyes, and sometimes in my forehead. I also have constant popping in my ears that almost sounds like my tubes are opening and closing. I was diagnosed with Ear tube dysfunction, and my symptoms seem to be worse in the later afternoon/evening. I also did some allergy testing and had no major environmental allergy concerns, and food allergy testing came back with an intolerance to gluten, dairy and bananas. I did do the strategene test. I have slow MTHFR (heterozygous 677ct), slow NOS3, complicated GST/GPX, intermediate COMT, intermediate MAOA, and my DAO and PEMT found nothing. More specifically on my histamine profile I have slow ALDH family, complicated MAOB, slow NAT2, and fast HRH1. There was no info/nothing found on the other HRH2/3/4. I am 36 years old, and besides the sinus issues, I feel I am in overall good health. I have pretty good energy these days, I am about 125 pounds, 5'5" and stay pretty active and try to eat healthy. The only other thing I have started recently struggling with is slight mood swings, and oily skin/hair, and acne. I assume there is some hormonal changes contributing to that but that just started within the last several months. If you have anything you can recommend that could help with the sinus/ear dysfunction issues, and even the hormonal changes, and just for good overall health I would truly appreciate your feed back. Thank you so much!

I have a few thoughts that may help support you.

Consider:

  • Go 1000% gluten free, dairy free (switch to Goat milk products instead of cow) and no bananas
  • look for mold in your house, car and work. Hire a professional.
  • have an ENT do a nasal swab and do a culture with sensitivity test. May be mold, yeast, bacteria and should find out

Supplements consider:

  • Histamine Nutrients: 1-2 capsules in the morning and 1-2 capsules at night before bed
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Gallbladder Nutrients: 2-4 capsules before dinner
  • DIM+I3C: take around day 9 to 15 of your cycle to support healthy estrogen levels as high estrogen is associated with histamine issues.*
  • Glutathione Plus lozenge: 1/2 to 1 lozenge upon waking and another 1/2 to 1 lozenge once or twice more during the day but not within 4 hours of bedtime.
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 serving upon waking in the morning and another likely later in the day as needed

In health,

Hi, are the Probiota HistaminX safe to take if one has an active SIBO overgrowth and dysbiosis? I have extreme histamine intolerance and MCAS. I think the majority of my symptoms from SIBO are from histamine intolerance. I'm also a sensitive individual and usually always get herx reactions from introducing new things or when increasing dosages. Do the ingredients for Probiota HistaminX have anything that could potentially feed my active SIBO? I've done multiple kill phase and I personally think that is not the way I'm going to heal from histamine intolerance and sibo. So I'm I want to try probiotics to fix my severe dysbiosis and HIT, thank you for your time doctor Lynch.

Great question.

I would not use ProBiota HistaminX right now.

You're right that using things that kill SIBO is not the best move as it does not address the underlying issue.

You need to support :

  • healthy bile production and flow
  • healthy bowel motility
  • improved digestion
  • favorable probiotics

Here's something to consider:

  • Histamine Digest: take 1 capsule with meals to support a healthy histamine level from food and drink. Take 1 capsule before bed to support a healthy histamine level in your microbiome.*
  • Saccharomyces Boulardii: take 2 capsules after dinner to support a healthy microbiome.*
  • Gallbladder Nutrients: take 2-4 capsules before dinner to support healthy bile production and bile flow which is essential to occur for a healthy microbiome.*
  • Digestive Enzymes: take 1-2 capsules with each meal to support healthy digestion of protein, fats and carbohydrates to support a healthy microbiome and healthy absorption of nutrients.*

This combination is supportive and gentle. Start with one supplement at a time and a low amount at a time.

As you experience good things from each one, it's ok to combine them together.

In health,

Thank you for your email! We really appreciate your help. So this is what happened to my hubby yesterday. Did this before I saw your email. Seems to be after he eats though. His only histamine reaction is hives very itchy hives. He started making the kambucha about 10 months ago. It helped like crazy for 6 months then the hives started up again. So that's why we were confused. This is in response to you email you sent me. He took 1 probiotica histamine about 8 am cause was a bit itchy. It helped a little. The about 3 oz kambucha mid morning. Then early evening was itchy again so took another along with the optimal focus. He stated having those reactions you mentioned below. Never had any of those before. Coughing, lips swelled and mostly top went numb, chest started feeling tight and had big painful lump in his esophagus. Like food is stuck. Drank lots of water which if it was the pill stuck would have dislodged it. Chest continued to tighten. Was getting concerned. Took medical 1/2 allergy pill which is 5 mg. Finally after 2/2 hour chest started to relax. So he was having a reaction to one of those maybe the focus one. He is very sensitive to things that's why 1/2 allergy pill and not whole. Up until about a month ago he was only taking 1/3 every two days. Now takes 1/2 every other day. Do you have more suggestions please?

That does sound like an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients. I am not sure which ingredient it could be.

He definitely is struggling with high histamine for some reason and need to identify why that may be.

I highly recommend that he work with a naturopathic physician and read and work through our Histamine Workbook. It really speeds the process of knowing what to look for and what to do in order to improve one's histamine levels.

I would stop the kombucha for now.

Getting a digestive stool analysis done would be a good idea as a lot of histamine comes from the gut.

In health,

Does Seeking Health keep these under refrigeration? Do you ship these with an ice pack?

We use a container that is called a CSP Vial. This container has been tested and confirmed to protect the probiotics without the need for refrigeration. They do not need an ice pack during shipping.

All our probiotics, digestive enzymes and joint formulas (contains enzymes) use this CSP vial so the enzymes and probiotics are protected.

You will receive these products at label claim without needing an ice pack or refrigeration.

In health,

Will this cause me to not have a bowel movement, because I already have so much trouble… I rarely have a bowel movement and I’ve bought high powered pro biotics and it makes it worse. Thank u

Great name :)

It depends. Some people have stated that ProBiota HistaminX has fully supported them with healthy bowel movements and others say it has caused issues.

I'd say significantly more have experienced healthy bowel movements than not.*

Consider:

  • Gallbladder Nutrients: 2-4 capsules before dinner to support a healthy bowel movement by supporting healthy bile production and bile flow.*
  • Optimal Electrolyte: upon waking, drink 1 serving to support a healthy bowel movement an healthy hydration.*
  • Calcium D Glucarate: take 1 capsule after dinner to support healthy detoxification and bowel movements.*

This should help significantly.

In health,

I have a question. My husband is breaking out in hives. Bought optimal focus and probiota histamine X. Day 1: took 2 optimal focus and 1 histamine x, due to being a little itchy, about 8:00 pm. It worked. Day 2: little itchy took same as above about 8:00 am before food. It helped. That night broke out itchy about 10:00 took 2 optimal focus and 1 histamine x. (So 4 optimal in 1 day. Helped till 2 am. Then broke out and lip swollen, which he gets occasionally with the hives. Took regular 10 mg Blexten (1/2 a pill) allergy pill from the doctor. Drinking homemade kambucha. 4 oz/day. He is pretty sensitive to stuff. Any suggestions please?

I appreciate the detail - very useful.

I'm happy to hear that the ProBiota HistaminX is supporting him most of the way.

My question is:

  • how soon after drinking kombucha is he noticing symptoms? The symptoms may be mild at first but progress into more significant histamine symptoms. At first he may get a little tickle in the back of his throat, then a little reflux, then a little nasal drip, then a little bit of itchy nose or eyes - and...etc.

I recommend stopping the homemade kombucha, no wine, limit alcohol.

Consider the Histamine Bundle as it is quite comprehensive and seems he needs it:

  • Histamine Digest: take 1 capsule with meals or drinks that contain high histamine to support healthy histamine levels in the gut and thus the rest of his body.*
  • Histamine Workbook: will inform you both so you can immediately identify what is problematic and what is useful for him to do and not do.
  • Histamine Nutrients: take 2 capsules before bed to support healthy histamine levels.* This will also support a healthy onset of sleep.*
  • HistaminX: take 2 capsules in the morning before food or midday between meals to support a healthy histamine response.*
  • ProBiota HistaminX: take 1 capsule after dinner to support a healthy histamine level in his microbiome long term.*

Additionally:

  • Gallbladder Nutrients: often times people who are 'sensitive to stuff' have a sluggish liver and/or gallbladder. Consider 2 capsules before dinner each night to support a healthy digestive system. He is looking for well formed, easy to pass bowel movements twice daily.
  • Optimal Electrolyte: have him drink 1-2 servings a day to support healthy hydration.* Dehydration leads to a myriad of issues including histamine intolerance.
  • Fish Oil: take 1 capsule after dinner to support healthy cell membranes which are essential for mast cell stabilization and overall health.*

He'll feel like a new man ;)

In health,

I have cholinergic urticaria and take other DAO like quercetin to help with my daily hives, I noticed my stomach feeling better when taking probiota. Would you recommend taking the digest pills too in order to help with reducing my histamine levels?

You're on the right track with your thinking, yes.

Urticaria is associated with high levels of histamine.

You need to fully support healthy histamine levels.

I recommend the Histamine Bundle as it is the most comprehensive, saves you money and includes the Histamine Workbook for free.
https://www.seekinghealth.com/products/histamine-bundle

Consider:

  • ProBiota HistaminX: take 1-2 capsules after dinner
  • HistaminX: take 2 capsules mid day between meals
  • Histamine Nutrients: take 1-2 capsules upon waking and 1-2 capsules before bed.
  • Histamine Digest: consider 1 capsule with each meal. This is a patented DAO enzyme.

Additionally, consider:

  • Digestive Enzymes: take 1-2 capsules with each meal to support healthy digestion.*
  • Gallbladder Nutrients: take 2 capsules before dinner to support healthy bile production and bile flow which are essential for healthy histamine levels long term.* This also supports healthy sleep, healthy detoxification, and healthy bowel movements to name a few others.*
  • Fish Oil: consider 1 capsule after dinner to support healthy cell mast cell activation

In health,

I have recently started this for my 5 year old. She has multiple food allergies and is free from dairy soya wheat eggs and on a low fodmap diet. Her antibiotic use was very high from the age of 2-4 due to recurrent UTIs and now has high levels of candida in her GI map. A recent Xray has revealed she has faecal loading in her colon and we have been advised to clear her out with laxatives. Her current symptoms are abdominal cramps intermittently throughout the day and sometimes cramping when opening her bowels, undigested food in her stools which are almost always a golden/green colour. We have used s boulardi but it does seem to contribute to her constipation. Probiota histamin x has caused some bloating and constipation so i am only giving a third of the capsule and swapping it to every other day for a while to see if we adjust. If it doesn't agree with her I'm considering swapping it out for bifido blend and seeing how we get on. What do you suggest in terms of the loaded colon and undigested food in her stools? I would also love if you could please suggest a UK based doctor for us to see for further support if possible.

Please ask my team for a list of health professionals to work with.

A golden and green stool is associated with weak bile production which is often associated with liver and gallbladder congestion.

The recurrent antibiotic use likely negatively affected her liver which is putting strain on digesting her foods.

Consider, in addition to working with a health professional:

  • Digestive Enzyme chewables: take 2 chewables with each meal to support healthy digestion and absorption of nutrients.*
  • Gallbladder Nutrients: take 1 capsule before dinner to support healthy bile production and bile flow.*
  • Calcium D Glucarate: take 1 capsule before dinner to support healthy bile production and bile flow.*
  • Optimal PC: take, or chew, 1 capsule after dinner to support healthy bile production and bile flow.*
  • stop the probiotics for now until she starts having a bowel movement then you can switch to ProBiota Bifidobacterium and take 1 after dinner.
  • Gut Nutrients: take 2 capsules before bed AFTER she has bowel movements more regularly - do not start this until that happens.
  • castor oil pack over her entire belly at night or during the day or both: watch a youtube video on this and do it daily until she starts having regular bowel movements. essentially you're applying warm castor oil to her entire belly area including up to the base of her ribs, and then covering with an old T shirt.
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 serving upon waking up in the morning and another part way through the day to support healthy hydration and bowel movements.*

Start here.

In health,

Hi, What's the ratio between Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus (i.e. , 1:1, 5:2 or something else)?

This is a proprietary formulation.

It works well for many people :)

In health,

I have SIBO and histamine intolerance. I’ve used a probiotic in the past and it made SIBO much worse because of the bacteria. Is this product safe for SIBO? Thanks.

I do not recommend using ProBiota HistaminX at first.

Here's what I suggest for consideration:

  • Saccharomyces Boulardii: 2 capsules after dinner to support a healthy microbiome and healthy approach to SIBO.* This beneficial yeast has demonstrated benefits in those with SIBO as it supports a healthy microbiome that is unfavorable to SIBO.*
  • Gallbladder Nutrients: 2 to 4 capsules before dinner to support healthy bile production and bile flow as poor bile is associated with SIBO.*
  • Histamine Digest: 1 capsule with each meal to support healthy histamine levels in the gut as high histamine is associated with SIBO and leaky gut.*
  • Digestive Enzymes: 2 capsules with each meal to support healthy breakdown and absorption of fat, protein and carbohydrates as poor digestion is associated with SIBO.*

In health,

Im currently on treatment for mold toxicity, I have developed MCAS, I seem to respond well to histamine nutrients and histamineX. Is this probiotic safe for me to use while detoxing and trying to keep MCAS under control? I’m just scared to make it worse after developing IBS because of the mold exposure.

I'm happy to hear you are doing well on the other histamine supportive supplements.

Probiotics support so many vital processes in the body that I do recommend taking 1 capsule of ProBiota HistaminX after dinner to support a healthy microbiome and a healthy immune system.*

Also consider:

  • Glutathione Plus Lozenges: consider 1/2 to 1 full lozenge in the morning upon waking to support a clear head and healthy glutathione levels.* Mycotoxins contribute to low levels of glutathione.
  • Gallbladder Nutrients: consider 2 capsules before dinner to support healthy bile production and bile flow. This is essential to support healthy elimination of mold.*
  • Optimal Electrolyte: consider 1 serving immediately upon waking in the morning to support healthy hydration.* Dehydration is associated with any chronic illness or mold exposure.

In health,

Hello. Can my 4 yr old take this? He weighs 35#. I want him to take it for eczema and constipation. If the capsule can be opened, can he take half of it or 1/3 of it?

Yes he may take this.

The capsule may be opened or if he can swallow the capsule, he may take all of it.

Common offending foods that cause eczema and constipation are eggs, gluten and cow dairy.

I recommend in addition Optimal Electrolyte. Have him drink 1/4 scoop to 1/2 a scoop in a glass of filtered water to stay hydrated. Hydration is key for a healthy bowel movement.*

In health,

Hi! I’m currently pregnant and planning to add ProBiota HistaminX. I have daily bowel movements but have been dealing with occasional loose stool on and off for a few months (prior to pregnancy as well). I also have a dermatitis that has recently appeared on one side of my face. What would you recommend that is pregnancy safe to address these issues along with the Probiota?

Congratulations on your pregnancy :)

I recommend:

  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Optimal PC: 1 capsule after dinner. You can chew the gelatin capsule if you like. I enjoy the salty and chewy consistency. This is supportive for healthy bile production and bile flow along with healthy skin.* Baby also is very supported developmentally as PC is a necessary ingredient for healthy brain and neurological development.*
  • Histamine Nutrients: 1-2 capsules before bed to support healthy histamine levels.* High histamine levels are associated with skin issues and potential pregnancy complications. Thus, supporting healthy histamine levels overall is very important during pregnancy.
  • Digestive Enzymes: 1 capsule with each meal to support healthy fat, carb and protein digestion.* This is key for healthy nutrient absorption and more formed bowel movements.*
  • Be mindful of how much fat you are eating. Nuts, seeds, oils are hard on the liver and gallbladder and this is especially an issue during pregnancy. Make sure you chew your food very well and limit how much fat you are consuming. Loose stools or right sided ribcage discomfort is a sign that you need to reduce fat intake.

In health,

I have started my 4 year old on these and his constipation has disappeared ! My question is I have a 5 year old with high candida levels and after recent antibiotics and sauerkraut she has been complaining of pain in her upper stomach and occasionally saying it burns when she eats. Would this be suitable for her? Or would she benefit from something with acidophilus ? She is currently on s boulardii. Thank you!

Awesome :)

That's very good to know as I usually recommend ProBiota HistaminX for loose stools and not constipation. Now I know it can help support those experiencing periodic constipation, too.

For your daughter:

  • Saccharomyces Boulardii: take 1 capsule after dinner - and you can open the capsule and put on a bite of food if needed.
  • ProBiota HistaminX: take 1 capsule after dinner - and you can also open this capsule.

To support a healthy gut lining:*

  • Optimal GI capsules: take 2 capsules upon waking up in the morning and 2 capsules before bed to soothe and support a healthy gut lining.* You can mix this in a bite or two of organic applesauce if needed.
    OR
  • Gut Nutrients: mix 1/2 scoop in some organic applesauce and take upon waking in the morning and a 1/4 scoop before bed.

Stop the sauerkraut and high histamine foods for now as high histamine increases stomach acid production and further aggravates her stomach lining.

In health,

Will these survive in very cold temperatures?

Yes.

Our containers used for all our probiotics are very high end which supports stability in a vast range of temperature.

Essentially, the probiotics are dormant until they get wet from any type of water which is why we keep them in this container.

Heat makes things wet and this is why probiotics die in the heat.

Cold does not make things wet.

In health,

If I start taking this will I have to repurchase and continue taking it for the rest of my life, or will my gut be healed by the end of one round? In other words, if I start taking this will I become dependent on it? What are some side effects of taking it and discontinuing it? I’ve had probiotics mess me up in the past with rashes and acne on my face and chest, so I want to be careful what I start taking. I also do not want to be tied down or dependent on any supplement. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Probiotics are not permanent residents in your digestive tract. They come and go and change based on what you are eating, drinking, how you exercise, and many other factors.

I have been taking ProBiota HistaminX most nights (5 nights or so a week) for about 5 years along with my family members.

I at times switch it up with ProBiota Bifido, Saccharomyces Boulardii or just nothing.

You don't get 'dependent' upon a probiotic but you may lose the benefits if you don't take them for a long period of time.

Most our probiotics naturally are found on the food we eat, drinks we drink and from our hands when we eat.

Eating food which is alive and whole food is a great way to get natural probiotics.

Be careful of fermented foods. Small amounts can be great but larger amounts may trigger a histamine overload.

In health,

Does this have to be refrigerated?

We use a high quality container that is very stable in high heat.

You do not need to refrigerate it.

We have tested this.

In health,

I have been taking this for a few months and think I notice less bloating. However, I think I may need to increase to 2 per day. Is this recommended? Also, would taking it in the morning help my bloat throughout the day (as opposed to taking it after dinner)?

It is ok to increase to 2 a day yes after dinner. However, it is likely better to address some other avenues for broader support. It's not usually just one thing that's imbalanced.

Here's what I suggest:

  • Digestive Enzymes: take 1 capsule with meals to support healthy broad spectrum digestion of your protein, fats and carbohydrates.*

  • Gallbladder Nutrients: take 2 capsules before dinner to support healthy bile production and bile flow which are both essential for healthy bloating levels.*

This combination may be what you're looking for in terms of healthy digestion.*

In health,

What symptoms good/bad should i be looking out for as my 9yo daughter begins this? Also, 4 nights on + 3 nights off? should that be in a row or every other night? PS/ I have been very grateful for your through and quick responses

Every person responds differently and at different times.

What you're looking for are healthy bowel movements that are easy to pass, well formed and healthy digestion that provides a happy feeling gut without cramping, bloating or excessive gas.

Often when introducing a new probiotic, there is 'gut remodeling' occurring. This may trigger some symptoms of gas, bloating and some discomfort as the microbiome adjusts.

This should only happen for a few days.

This gut remodeling effect is lessened by introducing the probiotic more slowly.

Consider giving 1 capsule after dinner every other night.

What you don't want to see is excessive bloating, gas or constipation after a week or so.

If this persists, then stop giving the probiotic until things restore back to a healthy state.

Then, provide the probiotic again but less frequently say once every few days.

If she's great, then keep going at this rate.

If she's constipated, then it may be the wrong probiotic and she may need ProBiota Bifidobacterium and/or Saccharomyces Boulardii.

It's also good to switch probiotics up a bit. Consider getting these three different probiotics and switching from one to another as one bottle goes empty.

If you're seeing, or she is, bits of undigested food in her stool, she should chew her food better and consider Digestive Enzymes with each meal.

In health,

Hi, I'm using probiota histamine x once a day after dinner, I wanted to ask if want to incorporate seeking health digestive enzymes, How would u recommend me taking them together on same day, Also can I ask if histamine x probiotics I'm currently taking 1 only can I take 2 a day or should keep 1 a day limit only, Thank you so much.

Yes - this is totally fine.

Here's how to do it properly:

  • Digestive Enzymes: take 1 capsule with meals.
  • ProBiota HistaminX: take 1 capsule after your dinner is finished.

Instead of adding another capsule of ProBiota HistaminX, I'd add in another probiotic like Saccharomyces Boulardii to address another layer of a healthy microbiome.* Take 1 capsule after dinner along with the ProBiota HistaminX.

If you're looking for more digestive support, healthy sleep, healthy bowel movements, then I'd add in Gallbladder Nutrients and take 2 capsules before dinner.* This is a foundational supplement and provides fantastic results for many people.

Is there a recommended regimen for teens? My 16 year old son has had issues with focus, being overwhelmed and also shows signs of a full histamine bucket (in fact, I found these supplements after listening to Dr Lynch describe symptoms his own son had in a recent podcast). I'm starting out with the Probiota Histaminx and Optimal Focus and wondering if there are any complimentary supplements that would work well with the ProBiota.

Your choices are great.

I'd add in a couple more depending on how they are doing.

Upon waking in the morning, have a glass of Optimal Electrolyte - sip it - do not chug. He can have another serving during the day as well especially if exercising or sitting a desk for long periods of time.

Stress Nutrients: Take 3 capsules in the morning if and when they are feeling mental stress as this supports a healthy response to stress.*

Take 1 capsule of Optimal Focus on days where they need more calm and centered focus.*

Before bed, consider 1-2 capsules of Histamine Nutrients to support a healthy histamine level and healthy onset of sleep.* Typically those with high histamine have difficulties falling asleep.

After dinner, he can take 1 capsule of ProBiota HistaminX.

In health,

Is ProBiota HistaminX safe to use during pregnancy?

It is - and recommended.

:)

In health,

Hi Dr. Lynch, So many products I'd like to take such as this one (ProBiota HistaminX) contain leucine in the Other Ingredients. This eliminates them as options for me. I have some sort of issue with my leucine metabolism based on OAT results. Makes me so sad when I see great products but have to forego due to the leucine. I guess I'm an oddity, so this may not be relevant enough to consider in product development. But I wanted to mention it as food for thought. Thorne and Klaire Labs, which I also like very much, seem to include it in many of their supplements too, sadly, for me. Is it highly essential? If only minimally...I'm wishing for no leucine.

The amount of leucine in the supplements is very low.

Leucine metabolism is not going to be affected by these supplements.

It takes many grams of leucine to be problematic.

Your doctor should know better and inform you it is ok to use supplements with Other Ingredients with leucine in them.

Now taking a supplement with an active ingredient of Leucine in 1 gram or more, yes, that's something to consider.

In health,

My 23 year old daughter has had horrific hives and eczema for two years, as well adult acne. She avoids dairy and gluten, and uses "clean" household products. After reading your book and becoming a Seekinghealth member, I bought The ProBiota HistaminX and Histamine Digest for her - they have done wonders for the hives and eczema - life changing honestly!!! Thank you!!!! However, the facial acne is still lingering. I'm guessing the acne is gut related, I just don't know what to add to her arsenal to get rid of it. Any suggestions? Many thanks!

Awesome ;)

For her acne - I would consider:

  • Gallbladder Nutrients - 2 capsules before dinner
  • Skin Nutrients - 3 capsules with breakfast (when it comes out end of June 2024)
  • She will stop her other multivitamins and B complex and trace minerals when she starts the Skin Nutrients.

Those two will really support her healthy skin! :)

In health,

I understand it says to take after dinner but the only way my husband will stay on a routine is taking them in the AM (he does intermittent fasting) so it is away from food. Is it still ok to take this way?

It is yes.

Routine is more important than the optimal way to take a probiotic.

It's better in him than in the bottle ;)

In health,

I have a couple of questions- my daughter struggles with cystic acne, she has a clean diet ( no sugars, gluten, or dairy) but still struggles with breakouts, which seem worse around her cycle, would this help? Second question- I struggle with vertigo, something with the vestibular part of my eardrums which might be causing migraines in the form of dizziness etc.. physical therapy has helped. I’ve been taking magnesium and some B vitamins, would it help for me to focus on gut health ? Thank you!

I recommend for your daughter:

  • Skin Nutrients (when it's available end of June) - take 3 capsules with a protein based breakfast
  • Stop her multivitamin and multimineral - just use this
  • DIM+I3C - take 1 capsule a few days before she knows her breakouts will occur - and then stop it after a few days after ovulating - something like Day 9 to Day 18 or so

For you:

  • Histamine Nutrients - take 2 capsules any time of day or night
  • Gallbladder Nutrients - take 2 capsules before dinner
  • Optimal Electrolyte - sip a serving or two a day with filtered water. Put in a liter water bottle and sip. Do not drink all at once.

In health,

A question for you. I've been using your Probiotic Histaminx for over 3 weeks. I have developed constipation which I just learned from one of your videos can happen with Probiotic Histaminx. I have a mild case of histamine intolerance (immediate runny nose when eating sometimes (I guess when my bucket is full), flush easily, rosacea, mood and sleep issues, distended belly - not sure if this is histamine related.) I'm not sure if its helping. How long before I see improvements? I guess the runny nose is my best indicator and it is unchanged. Also my belly has ballooned out. It was already distended before the probiotics and now it is even bigger. I don't feel bloated or any excess gas or discomfort, I just have a very distended belly. I was hoping this would go away after a few days but it hasn't. I have been trying to fix the answer to my distended belly for years. (I am a thin, athletic, healthy 65 year old that looks like she is a few months pregnant). The distention is chronic - always there even first thing in the morning. Any comments as far as my symptoms and the probiotic? Should I stop them? BTW I have read your book and I live a very healthy lifestyle , as you stress in the clean up section. I have educated myself on nutrition and health. I have your Strategene report and have the MTHFR, COMT, MOA , TCN2, MTR, MTRR, mutations, etc. Still working my way through what all this means and experimenting with a B complex and B12 supplements. But in general I feel very healthy with good energy but have battled sleep issues on and off for years. I find I am very sensitive to supplements. I can't even take creatine and a long list of other supplements without it affecting my sleep. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would stop the supplements for now.

Exploring foods you are intolerant to is very important.

I recommend going gluten-free and dairy-free 100% for 2 weeks and see how you feel.

I'd also add in:

  • Gallbladder Nutrients - take 2 capsules before dinner
  • Digestive Enzymes - take 1 capsule with each meal

I'd also add in a stool test - ask your doctor to order this test:

In health,

I am wondering if this would be a helpful product for me to try for rosacea? I’m 42 and have had it since I was about 35 and I’ve tried just about everything. Generally healthy person otherwise. Thanks!

You're on track, yes.

I highly recommend getting the following supplements below to support healthy skin:*

  • ProBiota HistaminX: take 1 capsule after dinner to support a healthy histamine level in your microbiome.*

  • Histamine Digest: take 1 capsule with meals to support healthy histamine levels.*

  • Histamine Nutrients: take 2 capsules before bed to support healthy histamine levels which support healthy onset of sleep as well.(

  • Gallbladder Nutrients: take 2 capsules before dinner to support healthy bile production and bile flow.* This is key for healthy histamine levels in your gut.*

  • Digestive Enzymes: take 1 capsule with meals to support overall healthy digestion of your food to reduce histamine production.*

As you may have gathered from my recommendations, rosacea, like so many things, is related to high histamine.
https://www.dermatologytimes.com/view/new-target-rosacea-treatment-mast-cell

I recommend also getting the Histamine Workbook and working through this - looking for causes of high histamine and removing them one by one.

In health,

I'm curious about feedback for Probiota HistaminX. After taking it I started getting symptoms of a UTI. When I stopped use the symptoms resolved within 2 days. Is this a common response? Should I try again in smaller doses and build up to the whole capsule? Or is this a sign my body does not tolerate it? Thanks for any help you can provide! I have been very pleased with Histamine Digest and seem to be tolerating it well. But I'd love to start a good probiotic to support my gut. Thanks!

That's interesting. I've never heard that to this point.

I'd stop using ProBiota HistaminX for now.

I would introduce 2 capsules of Gallbladder Nutrients before dinner to support healthy bile production, bile flow and healthy bowel movements - and a healthy microbiome.*

Bile is massively important and is often overlooked.

Start there.

Then, after a couple weeks, you can restart the ProBiota HistaminX. Take 1 after dinner every other day.

In health,

Can I take both ProBiota HistaminX and DAO while taking the antibiotic AMOXICILLIN_CLAV for UTI? Thank you.

Yes but you need to space it out.

Here's what I recommend.

Take Saccharomyces Boulardii one capsule a day until the bottle is gone to support a healthy microbiome while you are on the antibiotics.*

Saccharomyces Boulardii is not killed while on antibiotics which is why it's recommended. It's a very beneficial yeast that supports a healthy microbiome.

Take ProBiota HistaminX as far away from the antibiotic as possible.

For example, if taking Amoxicillin in the evening before bed, take ProBiota HistaminX in the morning after breakfast to support a healthy microbiome.*

In health,

Hi Ben, Is this a good starting place for someone who just wants to take a probiotic? Thanks.

Yes, it is. It's a great start.

Another great option is ProBiota Bifidobacterium.

You can also alternate use.

Consider using one bottle of ProBiota HistaminX until it runs out and then switch to ProBiota Bifidobacterium.

This way you naturally diversify your microbiome.

In health,

My son is 4 and has eczema. I'm looking for a probiotic that doesn't make him break out as many of the ones I have tried did. Would this be a good fit for him? Would he take the full capsule amount or less?

He would use the full capsule after dinner. You can open it and put on a bite of food if he cannot swallow it.

High histamine foods and drinks contribute to high histamine in the blood which then affects the skin negatively. I also recommend using Histamine Digest with meals to support healthy histamine levels.*

Trying him on a gluten-free and dairy-free diet for 2 weeks will likely help his skin a lot.

Nutritional support for skin is important as well - with A, zinc, copper and others.

Consider using 1/2 a chewable of Kids Multivitamin Chewable MF for him with breakfast.

In health,

When I have given this to my 16-year old daughter after dinner, she has had a hard time falling asleep at night. Any ideas on what could cause this and if there is an alternative time to take it that would work better for her?

That's interesting.

I would give it to her anytime that works for her.

As a colleague used to tell me, anytime is better than never. ;)

I'm suspecting there is a die-off reaction which may be causing her to be more alert.

Consider having her take 1/2 a Glutathione Plus Lozenge upon waking in the morning. This will support a clear healthy head, healthy energy and healthy glutathione levels.*

In health,

Would this be a good probiotic to take while pregnant? :)

I like your thinking.

This is the best probiotic to take while pregnant in my eyes.

Why?

Supporting healthy histamine levels while pregnant is exceptionally important.

High histamine is associated with nausea and vomiting of pregnancy and pregnancy complications.

I would take 1 capsule of ProBiota HistaminX after dinner.

I'd also add in Optimal PC to support healthy choline levels. 90% of women are choline deficient and choline is massively important for healthy brain development in the little one.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

In health,

Which of your probiotic products is best for increasing bowel movements and improving the good bacteria needed in the GI system? I am a 56 year old menopausal female with chronic constipation, hypothyroid, hypertension.

I would not look at a probiotic for this situation.

I'd support your gallbladder and liver first.

Consider taking 2 capsules of Gallbladder Nutrients before dinner. Do this for a couple nights.

If still needing more support, take 2 capsules before lunch and 2 before dinner OR take 4 with dinner.

Gallbladder Nutrients supports healthy bile production and healthy bile flow - even in those without a gallbladder.* Healthy bile production and flow is key for healthy bowel movements.

There are many reasons for constipation, low thyroid function and high blood pressure.

Let's focus on healthy bowel movements first then we can work on the other two.

Before bed, take a capsule of Optimal Magnesium to support healthy bowel movements and healthy blood pressure.*

Upon waking, take 1/2 to 1 lozenge of Glutathione Plus Lozenge. This supports overall body function and is supportive of healthy bowel movements, healthy thyroid and healthy blood pressure.*

In health,

I am struggling with Long Covid. A primary potential root issue is an overactive allergic immune system (hereditary atopic eczema)) further exacerbated by Covid. I have had a microbiome sequence run in hopes that missing or compromised population microbes can be matched to species/strains in available probiotics. Your product avoids inflammatory species so that is filter 1. Is it possible to get strain designations for the species in your product? This is not to broadcast anything proprietary but to learn whether there is a match for key needed beneficial species .

I can assure you that this probiotic is a great one for what you are trying to support.

I cannot give the strains but I can state that they are indeed strain specific.

I also recommend you consider the Histamine Digest and take with meals.

An overreactive immune system is also usually deficient in vitamin D and glutathione.

I'd consider Glutathione Plus Lozenges and take one in the morning upon waking to support a healthy immune system.

I'd also consider Vitamin D3 + K2 capsules and take 1 with dinner.

In health,

I took this and had stomach pain through the night and into the next morning. Is that normal? I only took it once so I'm not sure if I should keep trying it or is it not for me?

This is called 'remodeling' and is a common experience for those who have a microbiome that needs support.

The stomach pain is likely caused by the beneficial probiotics competing with the bad microbiome in your gut.

As the bad bugs die, they release a lot of gas. The gas is likely causing distention and pain.

I recommend adding Gallbladder Nutrients - 1 to 2 capsules before dinner. This supports healthy bile production and bile flow. This is needed also to support a healthy microbiome. It also helps healthy bowel movements.
https://www.seekinghealth.com/products/gallbladder-nutrients

Then take the ProBiota HistaminX after dinner.

After a week, the bloating should be significantly less.

You may also benefit from Saccharomyces Boulardii. I would add take 1 capsule of this beneficial yeast after dinner with the ProBiota HistaminX. This also competes with the non-friendly bacteria and yeasts but in a different way so it's more comprehensive.

In health,

I see you include Ascorbyl Palmitate in the ingredients in the glutathione lozenge. I have been learning that it's common in the supplement industry to put the ascorbyl palmitate thru a fermentation process. Does your ascorbyl palmitate go thru a fermentation process? Does Probiota HistaminX go through a fermentation process?

Many vitamins go through a fermentation process as it is a healthy way to create nutrients.

I am not sure if ascorbyl palmitate of ours goes through this process or not.

That said, even if it does, the benefits of ProBiota HistaminX and any of our histamine support supplements far outweigh the potential of fermentation issues.

We are likely the best in the world when it comes to histamine support. Our formulations are extremely effective.

In the event they do not perform for you, simply ask for a refund.

In health,

Does probiota histaminX contains quercetin? As I buying this product in Australia. Its been stocked here by 5th element, I saw under the ingredients list it contains quercetin, so just curious to know. Thank you.

There is no quercetin in ProBiota HistaminX. This supplement is a probiotic which contains healthy strains of bacteria.

There is quercetin in HistaminX. HistaminX supports healthy histamine storage within the cells.

Perhaps that is the confusion.

In health,

I love your products but why did you decide to include L.Plantarum. It's know for producing high D-lactate which can produce digestive and neurological problems especially with people with Short Bowel Syndrome and autism. People who try to avoid histamine too. Would you be willing to remove this in your next batch?

The lactate produced from the microbiome is not significant as what our own body makes.

I've discussed this exact theory with probiotic experts in the field.

Lactate is elevated in those with mitochondrial dysfunction.

Supporting healthy mitochondria is what's needed for those struggling with autism or other types of neurological dysfunctions.

L. plantarum is incredibly supportive of healthy histamine levels.

In health,

Good afternoon. I started taking this product because of chronic loose stool issues/diarrhea. After a couple of doses it turned completely around to constipation issues. I then reduced to 1 capsule every other day. Still having constipation issues on day one and maybe day 2 and maybe not on day 2. So looking for advice as I have had issues for about 30 years and just been diagnosed with HaT Hereditary Alpha Tryptasemia. Tryptase always in the upper teens. I am also looking for any other recommendations for high long term 20 years of stress. I don't know if I am methylating properly or not. I did take B12 for a time a long time ago and my labs came back high so I quit. I don't know if I need B vitamins or not. I just need help in settling down my heart rate, brain fog, bathroom issues, histamine, mast cells. Thank you in advance. I am grateful for what you do Dr. Lynch and I've heard many good things about your company through our online support group and I was inspired by your video. I want to use your products but I need some guidance on where to start. TY

Thank you for your comments.

It's common to have what they call 'gut remodeling' when starting a new probiotic.

I'd continue using ProBiota HistaminX and only using it a few nights a week - taken after dinner.

B12 high on labs is common when one is supplementing. If you feel good taking vitamin B12, continue taking it.

I'd consider Gallbladder Nutrients - 2 capsules before dinner. Start there. If needing more support, consider 2 capsules before lunch and 2 before dinner. You want stools to be well formed, easy to pass and sink. Find the amount that works for you - it may be, and usually is, more in the beginning stages for the first week and then less as you improve.

Upon waking, I'd do two things:

Optimal Electrolyte Unflavored: sip 1 serving in a glass of filtered water

Glutathione Plus Lozenge: take 1/2 lozenge, let it dissolve and then swallow.

These should help significantly ;)

In health,

Hi, I purchased this product in hopes of helping with hot flashes. At first I thought hot flashes d/t hormones (d/t my age) but then I started noticing if I ate certain food, I would have immediate hot flashes and my hands get red and hot, so now I am thinking it is a histamine response. I tried Probiota HistaminX for 2 days. It made my hot flashes, hands worse and constipation worse. Do you have any suggestions on where to go from here? Thank you

I would use Histamine Digest and Gallbladder Nutrients.

Take Histamine Digest with meals.

Take Gallbladder Nutrients, 2 capsules, before dinner. If you experience a healthy bowel movement that's easy to pass, sinks and is well formed, then stay with 2 capsules before dinner. If you notice you need more support, add either 2 capsules before lunch and 2 before dinner - or take 4 capsules before dinner.

The ProBiota HistaminX may be added about 1 month after trying the above.

You may need more gallbladder, liver and gut support before using the ProBiota HistaminX.

In health,

Hi! Love your products!! How come it comes in an acid resistant capsule if you are able to open it and empty contents into food or water? Thanks!

Probiotics naturally are found on the food we eat and drinks we drink.

This is why it's possible to open the probiotic capsule and dump the contents onto a bite of food. Then be sure you take it at the END of a meal vs the beginning - to increase the survival rate.

That said, some of the bacteria will die when one opens the capsule.

We use acid-resistant capsules to ensure survivability through the stomach for optimal delivery of the probiotics.

We also use a very special, and expensive, container to keep the probiotics stable.

This is why we don't have to ship any of our probiotics with ice. Our containers are top notch and have been through stability testing ensuring that our probiotics maintain label claim even if sitting in a very hot delivery truck or porch.

It is best to swallow the capsule but if not possible, then it's better to get some of the probiotic than none.

Again, if needing to open the capsule, do it near the end of your meal and place on a bite of food. It's best this way vs mixing in a drink as the probiotic will stick to the side of the glass.

In health,

Is ProBiota HistaminX suitable for a child of 12 years old? Thank you!

Yes. ProBiota HistaminX is suitable for ages 4 and up ;)

Best to give after dinner.

In health,

Probiota Histaminix exipiry date from the production date on the box?

The ProBiota HistaminX is stamped with an EXP date, product testing supports a 2-year shelf life, the EXP printed on the bottle will be for 2 years from time of manufacture.

In Health,

What is the difference between ProBiota Woman and ProBiota HistaminX I am not sure which one to pick and I can only get 1 of them. I am 70 disabled post menopausal with IBS, Interstitial cystitis, Arthritis, FM, have some yeast issues.. etc. I cannot afford to get constipated, please help. Thank you. The HistaminX has many more reviews and I cannot figure out why. Thank you.

ProBiota Woman supports a healthy vaginal flora.

ProBiota HistaminX supports healthy histamine levels - primarily in the digestive system.

I recommend you consider ProBiota HistaminX.

Take 1 capsule after dinner.

I highly recommend also going 100% gluten-free and dairy-free for 14 days. See how you feel at the end of 14 days.

100% avoidance - not even a bite. Just one bite could trigger your immune system and reset all progress.

If you feel significantly better, then I would continue being gluten-free and dairy-free.

Dairy and wheat/gluten is not what they used to be 20 years ago. They are really causing issues in many people.

I am 100% gluten-free and cow dairy-free. I eat goat dairy products without any issue.

In health,

I see you discontinued the powder version. That had 25 billion. Are we to assume this product is equal potency? Even though it only has 10 billion. Also, why is it recommended to take at night?

The formulation is the same between the former powder and the capsules.

The potency is the only difference.

When I was testing my original ProBiota HistaminX formulation of 20 billion per capsule during pilot tests, I found that 20 billion was causing constipation in people after 1 week of use.

That is why I reduced the potency from 20 billion to 10 billion in the capsules. Then I doubled the servings from 30 to 60.

I recommend taking at night after dinner. It gives the probiotic time to make a home in your colon vs being pushed out by other meals consumed throughout the day.

Bacteria naturally are ingested and make their way through our digestive tract.

By taking it at night, you're increasing their ability to take residence.

Plus, some people have what's called 'remodeling' of their gut bacteria. This stage can be uncomfortable with gas and bloating. By taking it at night, gas and bloating can occur while you're sleeping vs during the day.

In health,

Do these help with hives?

Hives are associated with high histamine.

Histamine is often times absorbed through the digestive tract, getting into the blood and then affecting the skin and brain.

ProBiota HistaminX supports healthy histamine levels in the digestive system. It does this by providing bacteria which are known to break down histamine and not produce histamine. I recommend taking this in the evening before bed.

Histamine Digest also supports healthy digestive levels in the digestive system. It does this by providing the DAO enzyme which directly breaks down histamine. I recommend using Histamine Digest with meals.

For a more comprehensive full-body healthy histamine support, consider Histamine Nutrients. Take 2 capsules any time of day as needed. If one wants to support healthy onset of sleep, taking 2 before bed is a good time to do it.

In health,
Dr. Lynch

I read somewhere that L. Plantorum produces Hydrogen Peroxide. Is this the case with this supplement?

L. planetarium actually does the opposite.

"To overcome the deleterious effects of hydrogen peroxide, Lactobacillus plantarum elicits an adaptive response to oxidative stress." PMID 31948630

"Antioxidant activity is one of the important probiotic characteristics for lactic acid bacteria including Lactobacillus plantarum, which is used for food fermentation or as a probiotic supplement." PMID 32865760

Are they supposed to come in a cold pack when I order from Amazon?
Thank you for your question! Probiotics are not shipped with an ice pack as they have been tested to withstand high temperatures of 104 degrees without losing potency. For more information about probiotics in relation to extreme temperatures, please check out our learning center article here: https://support.seekinghealth.com/hc/en-us/articles/115009433627-Can-my-probiotic-be-exposed-to-very-hot-or-cold-temperatures-
why is there such a low number of bacteria in the product?
Thank you for your question! Higher bacteria counts don't always equal a better Probiotic. Typically, Probiotics with really high CFU's are meant to be used therapeutically, not long term. For instance, if you are taking antibiotics, you would want a stronger probiotic to replenish the good bacteria in the gut. Probiota HistaminX is a great daily probiotic for individuals looking for a healthy histamine response in the gut.
Is it bacteria based or yeast based?
Both. However, the fermentation media used to grow the strains is fully removed as the strains move through the manufacturing process post-fermentation. The result is that there is no residual ingredients present from the fermentation media once the probiotics reach their final ingredient stage.
