Methyl B12 1000 Dr. Lynch product Q&AUpdated 5 days ago
Question | Answer |
Hello Dr. Lynch, Thank you and Rachel for your reply and explanation. My comment about switching recommendations for my patients to other brands was in reference to your B12 products, not your entire product range, as I don't want to generalize - I know your products are generally very good and you provide reasonable customer service. Also, some of your products are part of my standard recommendations. However, I also don't recommend your products that do not contain strain-specific information about probiotic organisms, because I don't think it's right to withhold available information from consumers about what they are ingesting. I read a statement from you somewhere that the reason for this is to protect your formulation - for me and all my patients, consumer protection is far more important and I advise them never to use a probiotic product that does not state the individual strain. I would be very interested in your opinion as to why you think your glutathione product is more recommendable than Tri-Fortify from Researched Nutritionals. Best regards, Martina | I hear you on the strain specific. I agree totally that strain specific is needed. Part of a proprietary blend is actually consumer protection as well. Why? I formulate and produce highly effective formulations. If I disclose all the strains I use, then other companies can just copy that and put on a label - and then sell a probiotic with those exact strains - but it likely won't be produced as well as ours, be in the right capsule or the right packaging making it inferior. A customer would buy that product thinking it's the same - but it's far from. Making supplements is very difficult - way more than just what one sees on a label. In terms of Tri-Fortify - I looked at their label. Easy to state why Seeking Health glutathione is superior.

Re. today's reply from Dr. Lynch ("We use both MecobalActive and adenosylcobalamin. It's two separate ingredients."): Please see Rachel's response yesterday (see below) to my question about the ingredients in MecobalActive (dated October 9), in which she explicitly states that "Mecobalactive is made up of both forms methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin". Unfortunately, your company's responses regarding your products containing MecobalActive are too contradictory to be credible. This does not promote confidence in your products/company and therefore I regret that I will be switching my recommendations to other brands. __________________ Hi there, Thank you for reaching out! Some of our customer reps have been with us for many years and some are new. She has been informed and corrected. Switching brands for this, in my opinion, is unwarranted as we corrected the mistake and learned from it. Do what you like of course - I do not believe you'll find a better brand with such a drive to supporting health and our customers. In health, |
I have other information in this regard, which is why I asked. I am sending you the information from the manufacturer of MecobalActive below. Please tell me why adenosylcobalamin is included in the list of your ingredients. It's two separate ingredients. We include it because adenosylcobalamin is the mitochondrial form of B12 so it supports healthy energy production. In health, |
Hi Dr. Lynch , can you please tell me if Methyl B12 1000 is free of “red dye” ? As I see “red specks” I have the rare “graves eye” disease & must avoid all red dyes. What does “natural flavors’ mean? Is this synthetic? Thank you! | We use lots of red dye ;) Nope. None. Vitamin B12 is naturally red. Natural flavors is a tough one for people to be fully understand as the government just diluted the heck out of that definition. Here's our natural flavors: Essentially, we use a natural fruit and ferment it. In health, |
Hi Dr. Ben. I am looking for an answer to this question. I used to take your previous name/branding of Active B12 1000 mcg which has been changed to the new name of Methyl b12 1000 mcg. I have been taking this product since 2019 to help with a vitamin b12 deficiency. My naturopath had me on this because I was having horrible foot and hand neuropathy as a result of the b12 deficiency. Fast forward a few years, and after feeling much better with little to no symptoms, I placed a reorder of my active b12. I noticed the name change and looked to your website which claims it's only a rebranding or name change and no change of formulation. My question is, I was taking 2 supplements a day on the old bottle. your new bottle says to start with 1/2 a lozenge for the first week and then potentially add to 1 full lozenge. the day I started taking the new bottle my hand and foot neuropathy returned and is back with a vengeance. I have no other Health issues that would be causing this, I am very healthy. I am concerned that Ive been taking way too much of this product. Why did the dosing change? Why only 1/2 a pill now to start for the first week. I would greatly appreciate a quick reply as I am in pain and will be discontinuing this supplement for the time being. My naturopath has no answers for me. | There was no formulation change. Part of the name change, I also reviewed the entire label and wanted to update the suggested use. People can get side effects from B12 so I encourage people to start lower and work up if needed. Use whatever amount you were using in the past with success. Please note that a 'suggested use' is just that - a suggestion. Everyone is different. We also have an Active B12 5000 (being renamed to Methyl B12 5000 but no formulation change) if you need more than 1000 mcg. The Methyl B12 5000 contains 5000 mcg of a blend of methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin. In health, |
