Magnesium Plus Dr. Lynch product Q&AUpdated 4 hours ago

Hi! I am looking for something to help me relax at night to avoid clenching my teeth to halt gum recession or something to help reduce stress/tension. I take your optimal electrolyte, prenatal, fish oil, and pulse homocysteine nutrients. I have tried CALM magnesium which helps but feel as though it’s not the best and also too hard on digestive track. I am 40 years old if that’s helpful!! Would this add too much b6? Or maybe there is something else I should try. Thank you! | Hi Stephanie - I hear you ;) I'd consider:
This combination supports a healthy response to stress all day and all night. In health, |
Would this be good for my 9 year old with OCD? I give her your magnesium malate chewables and it does nothing! Every magnesium I have tried for her appears to not work....magnesium is amazing for my son and I but for my daughter it just doesnt work! And I love your Mag Malate Chewables too! Can you recommend something for OCD for kids? Thank you! | Hi Melissa - Low levels of serotonin is associated with OCD. I'd consider a couple things:
It's important to get the foundations in as often times the foundations aren't there which are contributing to symptoms. If the above aren't supportive enough, then consider opening a capsule of Serotonin Nutrients and putting 1/4 to 1/2 on a bite of food in the morning and possibly again in the evening before bed to support healthy serotonin levels.* Use Serotonin Nutrients only when she needs it - and skip it when she is feeling great. My husband and I took the magnesium malate chewable last night, and we both woke up a lot through the night. I was reading that this form gives you energy and is best used earlier in the day. The magnesium Plus has malate and Lysonate Glycinate, is this best taken earlier or at night? | Hi Jess - Great observation. I should update the product page with that information. My wife really likes the Magnesium Malate chewable before bed so I'll need to ask her what she experienced. I do like the Magnesium Plus before bed as it supports healthy onset of sleep by supporting healthy glutamate levels.* I also recommend the Optimal Magnesium as it has tremendous reviews for supporting healthy sleep and it's free of vitamin B6.* Some people do not do well with additional B6 while others do very well with it before bed. You may want to try a bottle of Magnesium Plus and a bottle of Optimal Magnesium. Give each one a week and see how you feel. You may notice you do better with one and your husband does better with the other. In health, |
Can this be given to young children over 2 years? Or should I aim to give half the capsule? | Hi Kayla - I'd give 1/2 the capsule, yes. Open and put into a bite of food. Or what may work best is Kids Multivitamin Chewable MF. Give 1/4 to 1/2 a chewable to start with a protein based breakfast. Then, give 1/2 a Magnesium Malate Chewable as needed - usually before bed. Would this also be appropriate for a 11 year old as well ? Or is there a different recommendation for kids ? | Hi Chrissy - Magnesium Plus may be used for an 11 year old absolutely. I recommend using it before bed. I also recommend the Kids Multivitamin Chewable with breakfast. Start with just 1 chewable. They are quite effective and taste great. I'd also consider the Glutathione Plus Lozenge upon his getting ready in the morning. Give him 1/2 a lozenge, have him bite it once and then let it dissolve in his mouth before swallowing. It will give him a pep in his step and a smile each morning. We all could use that :) In health, |
Would this be okay to add on to the prenatal essentials? | Hi Chrissy - Yes, this is fine. I recommend taking it at another time vs the same time. A good time to take Magnesium Plus is before bed. A good time to take Prenatal Essentials is with breakfast and with lunch - 1 capsule each. In health, |
