Lithium Orotate Dr. Lynch product Q&AUpdated 5 hours ago
Question | Answer |
I want to start my 6year old son with asd on lithium orotate but he can not swallow pills yet. Can this capsule be opened and mixed into a drink or food? | Hi Stephanie - Yes it may. I'd consider starting with 1/4 to 1/2 a capsule as well in a bite of food. In health, |
Hi! Can this be taken with 100mg of 5-HTP? I've been reading through a lot of the Q&As and you mentioned not taking Serotonin Nutrients and Lithium Orotate together. I've been taking 100mg of 5-HTP every night before bed for 4 months. I felt a drastic shift the first two months but now it kind of feels like I'm not taking anything anymore. (I struggle with PMDD). I already take 400mg Magnesium Glycinate with dinner as well as your MF Multivitamin in the AM. I was thinking of adding LO after reading so much about it. I'm scared to stop taking 5-HTP although an acupuncturist suggested cycling on and off. I have a history of anxiety when starting/stopping supplements. Thanks so much! MTHFR C677T (+/-): reduced folate metabolism. COMT V158M (+/-) and VDR Taq (+/+): impaired estrogen and catecholamine clearance, heightened sensitivity to methyl donors. CBS C699T (+/-): potential sulfur sensitivity, excess ammonia, rapid transsulfuration pathway. MTRR A66G (+/+) and MTR A2756G (+/-): increased B12 demand, poor recycling. CYP1B1 and CYP3A4 variants (+/-): estrogen detox pathway sluggishness. SOD2 (+/+): impaired mitochondrial antioxidant defense, especially against estrogen metabolites. | Hi Goldie - This relates to your other questions and I believe my answers to those answers this one as well. Some people do find they do better with Lithium Orotate - it's more gentle while some others do better with Serotonin Nutrients - as it's more comprehensive. It's personal preference and I do not think one needs both at once and I don't think it's a good idea to mix as you stated. That said, you can get both of these products and try them separately. See how each one makes you feel. When you feel you need a bit of support, consider the Lithium Orotate. When you feel you need more support, consider the Serotonin Nutrients. And - that said, it may be you need one or the other based on various variables that we don't know about. Supporting healthy estrogen levels is going to be pretty key as the big estrogen drop post ovulation is definitely a trigger for low mood and anxiousness. In health, |
Hi Dr. Lynch I have question about Lithium Orotate. I finally narrowed down my long time sleep and night time urination issues to too much acetylcholine. I've tested this by using Diphenhydramine to fall asleep. I do not supplement choline but eat very clean and healthy. I do not have any histamine issues. I'm wondering if this could be a symptom of a bigger problem, like over-methylation? Will Lithium Orotate help moderate too much acetylcholine? I would prefer to take a supplement rather than an anti-chlorogenic. Thank you. | Hi Robert - That's interesting. Thank you for sharing. You are right - and let me share why you are right - it takes some reading. Please read this document about Optimal Focus - which is a supplement that supports healthy acetylcholine levels.* Now, I know you don't need this supplement. What I want you to do is read this document to learn about low, healthy and high acetylcholine levels. Review the table of symptoms of acetylcholine - plus look at page 12 and on - as it talks about high acetylcholine levels and some solutions to consider. Acetylcholine levels can be higher in the brain due to lower serotonin or dopamine levels as these regulate acetylcholine - as you'll read in the document above. High histamine can also be problematic for acetylcholine. Read this about Histamine Nutrients - as this may be a solution for you - along with the Lithium Orotate - to support healthy acetylcholine levels:* Consider:
I do find that I sleep deeper and of better duration when I support healthy serotonin levels by using Serotonin Nutrients before bed.* I track my sleep using a Garmin Venu 3 watch. In health, |
Im struggling with when to take supplements. My hormones drastically fluctuation from phase to phase and my mood ebbs and flows because of it. Hormones are all quite high so not lacking in them but not sure how to regulate and smooth sail a little more when it comes to my mood, focus and motivation . Would this be an ideal supplement for this? | Hi Jenna - I hear you. It's something that I want to create a guide for as so many women struggle with this. Here is a plan to consider implementing which is designed to support healthy hormones and healthy mood throughout the month:*
This will support you very well I suspect. If you find you need further estrogen support, consider adding in Calcium D Glucarate and take along with the DIM+I3C. Let me know how you're doing in a month or so. :) In health, |
Hi Dr. Lynch, I recently went on lexapro for anxiety (small dose 2.5 mg for 14 days) and got off because it caused intrusive thoughts, feelings of hopelessness, and increased anxiety. I've been off for two weeks now and did great but some of the thoughts have come back as well as increased anxiety/panics and moments of depression. When I get stuck in the thought loop, its hard to get out of it. I am also not sleeping well and typically wake up between 2-430 am anxious. I have confirmed my waking cortisol is high and then it plummets. My provider recommended 5-HTP which caused me increased anxiety and panic this morning. I took it last night. I have done well with Seretonin Nutrients in the past. I also have Lithium Orotate. My body seems very overly sensitive right now. Any recommendations? | Hi Amanda - If you've done well with Serotonin Nutrients in the past, I'd use that on an as-needed basis - not daily. Take after some food. The Lithium Orotate can be very helpful as well and take as needed. Stress Nutrients in the morning after a protein based breakfast would be something to seriously consider as it supports a healthy response to cortisol.* Phosphatidyl Serine 1 capsule in the morning upon waking to have a healthy cortisol level.* Optimal Electrolyte: 1 serving upon waking to support healthy magnesium levels and hydration.* Fish Oil: 1 capsule in the evening after dinner Vitamin D3+K2: 1 capsule in the evening after dinner. In the morning, limit caffeine use ideally as this can aggravate anxiety. Consider using Energy Nutrients 1/2 a lozenge instead of coffee to support healthy energy.* Have protein with each meal as protein is key for healthy neurotransmission throughout the day. Having only carbs and little protein is a disaster for healthy mood. Additionally, I'd use ProBiota HistaminX and take 1 capsule in the morning before food. This is the best time to take it. High histamine in the gut can lead to anxiety and this supports healthy histamine levels.* These additions should help you a lot - and use them on an as-needed basis - not daily. The D3, electrolytes and probiotic are great for daily use. The Lithium and Serotonin Nutrients can be used as needed. Stress Nutrients should be used daily as it an adaptogenic blend and it is best to use that long term consistently. In health, |
Dr Lynch: I recently came off ssri and taking 300mg 5Htp 1 lithium orotate 3 stress nutrients I tried serotonin nutrients but it didn’t suit me. I am dealing with anxiety flare up with absolutely no sleep past 3-5 days. Any guidance will be helpful. I am shirking from going back to celexa and hence this question. | Hi Lisha - There are a lot of factors here and some of them may be hormonal and vary with your cycle. Look into testing your hormones as high estrogen and low progesterone may contribute to these emotions. Consider:

Thank you for answering my question. One follow up. You talked about protein with breakfast. With an allergy to most proteins, eggs, beef, etc, I mostly drink a fruit and veggie shake for breakfast. Would adding goat whey protein (like the one Mike Adams sells) add a sufficient amount of protein to my breakfast/be a good addition to lower stress and have a clear mind for a testing day? Thanks! | Hi Bobby Yes. Goat whey is great. I’ve designed one and will release it sometime later this year. Id look into duck eggs and quail eggs, too. You want to rotate your proteins. Ideally three days rotation. Whey protein one day, duck eggs the next and quail the following. In health, |
Will either lithium or your stress nutrients slow down or inhibit thinking ability? Looking to add a supplement on days only with high stakes testing, so need my mind perfectly clear in addition to lower test anxiety. Thanks! | Hi Bobby - For lower test anxiety, my son successfully uses the combination of a couple supplements to support a healthy stress response:*
This stack will have you quite pleased. :) Try them before you take an actual test - do for a study session or two. Only take them as needed - not daily. Be sure to read the How to Use Optimal Focus information as well - located right on the product page - but I'll include it here for you too: In health, |
Hello. I am looking into giving my 13 year old daughter the Lithium Orate supplements. I am suspecting she has slow COMT. (Still waiting for results). She has been diagnosed with ADD in the past. For the past year she has been experiencing depression symptoms (extreme sadness), has anxiety, gets stressed easily, is irritable, any type of noise is distracting to her when she is doing homework or telling a story, she bites her nails and constantly shakes her leg. She also has trouble sleeping, wakes up many times during the night. I’ve just started reading The dirty genes, so hopefully we can get her on the right track. Do you think the Lithium orate would be good to start with? | Hi Lubka - I do think the Lithium Orotate would be a good option for her. Consider:
This combination should help quite a bit and noticeable within the first day. Make sure her cellphone is on airplane mode at night - and the WiFi is turned off. In health, |
Hi Dr. Lynch I purchased a lot of supplements from you a few months ago and have several questions about their effects. MTHFR homozygous 677 Symptoms: Chronic Headaches/migraines from exercise, heat, or certain types of movements. If I don't exercise I only get headaches occasionally. If I do exercise, in any way that gets my heart rate up, I'll get a very bad headache. To the point sometimes that I'm very nauseous and have to lie down and sleep it off for 1-2 hours. Then my brain feels inflamed afterwards. Weights and other exercises sometimes trigger a headache. I snowboard often and that rarely gives me a headache. It feels more strongly associated with heart rate going up and heat. Moving the head below the heart a lot when cleaning the house can cause it. If I were to bent into a toe-touch right now I would feel a lot of pressure on the front of my head. Mood: I'm 45. Looking back and wondering if I've had mild to severe depression my whole life. Easily agitated. High PMS symptoms. Digestion: tend to run constipated The past few years I've experienced bloating and pain in my intestines. My spleen seemed hard. Gallbladder potentially inflamed. Diagnosed diverticulosis. Your supplements are helping! Sleep: The past two years I wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep. I was prescribed a progesterone cream about 5 years ago but it gave me headaches so I didn't stick with it. I think it's hormones because I always slept great before. I haven't been to the Dr. about my hormones because with my headaches and being so sensitive that medications really affect my moods I want to be really careful. Energy: Every day, in my adult life, I have needed to lay down and take a nap at 3PM (or earlier). If I work out or have driven a distance I need to lay down earlier. Sometimes it feels like I need to get the blood up to my head and if I don't have time to take a nap I will lay down and put my feet up to get the blood up to my head. If I take a sublingual B12 it can help me not need to sleep. If I eat grapes sometimes that will help me not need to nap. Histamine response: I don't notice a big histamine response when I eat. Wine can give me a headache. Occasionally dark chocolate can make me sneeze when I eat it. Body: I struggle with my weight and have been 15-40lbs overweight my whole adult life. When I cut carbs completely, or moderately, I used to be able to loose weight fast. Bread and carbs stick to me more than most people I know. Gluten especially. Much harder to loose weight now. *Lithium: I was hoping this would help with depression. I've taken it 3 times and each time, for the day and 2-3 days after I take it, I am extremely agitated. The first time I took it I noticed feeling an itchy or activated feeling; a nervousness that made me kind of feel weird in my skin. The second time, I noticed being really short tempered and easily annoyed. Feels a bit like it puts me into hyper drive; so in that way it shakes the depression a bit and it feels like it might be creating light "mania". Glutathione plus and Riboflavin: I've been taking these two supplements almost daily and realized that I haven't needed to nap for at least a month. After reading the reviews it seems it might be the riboflavin that is creating more consistent energy. I've also been very emotional and down. I don't know if it's the holidays approaching that are so triggering or if it's the riboflavin that is causing the weepiness because I read that it metabolizes serotonin? I read Dr. Lynch say take Riboflavin as needed. I don't know how to tell when I need it or at what time I should take it? Dopamine Nutrients: I was feeling very down today. It feels like my mind is attacking me with it's repeated thought cycle of let downs and social slights. I experience a lot of isolation and loneliness. I have CPTSD and that doesn't help. I feel like I want my brain to shut off; to give me a break because it hurts emotionally and it hurts physically too. My brain feels swollen in areas and it feels inflamed in thoughts. It's not extreme, as in - I'm out of control. It's more depressive and weepy. It keeps me from moving and doing or it makes me want to get out of the house so I can distract myself. *I took 2 dopamine nutrients and two gaba pills today and my brain feels better. I can feel the achy parts in it because the painful thoughts aren't currently activated. The back left side and the front left both feel a little "worn out" with pangs of pain if a hint of one of those thoughts starts to creep up. It's 16 hours later and in the middle of the night, because I can't fall back to sleep. I can feel an emotional difference hours later. My brain feels less stressed/inflamed because of those supplements. Liver nutrients: My digestion and bloating pain feels better. Ox bile: Digestion and bloating feels better. Brain Nutrients: these help with energy and motivation but I felt like this supplement, Electrolytes, or the combo was affecting my urinary tract system. Whatever is sweetening them. I took this and electrolytes from you on the same day abd got really hot and got a headache. It seems like it might be the electrolytes that cause the headache but I'm not sure. Electrolyte: I get a tension headache from this most times that I take it. I wonder if the niacin is causing my body temperature to go up and that's causing the headaches? I've taken niacin on its own before and got a burning sensation on my neck and especially my ears. I really want to take the electrolytes and focus on hydration to see if I notice a positive impact but I haven't been able to stick with it because of the headaches. Histamine X Histamine Digest: Could either of these cause a foul odor to come out of my nose and mouth & body? I've taken a combination of the supplements I purchased and one or some of them caused a stink. Have you received any feedback about that? If so, do you stick with the supplement and it will go away? I was wondering if it was a bi-product of clearing histamine out of one's system? If one is storing histamine is there a protocol for taking these in a way that will pull the histamine out of the system? I'm almost out of glutathione plus and was going to order it with Serotonin nutrients, and a Vit D. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thank you so much! | Hi SG - I hear you on the headaches and exercise. Consider:
You may want to consult with ElizmaLambert.com as there is a fair bit going on and she can help pin point some underlying causes. Hormones definitely could be looked at and your digestive system (gallbladder - I'm wondering about Bile Nutrients before dinner...) In health, |
Hi, is this safe to take while taking 10mg of Lexapro daily? Looking for extra mood and emotional support during stressful times lately | Hi MM - Yes. Stress Nutrients is as well. While this video demonstrates what seems as a very odd technique, it's extremely extremely effective. Please watch it fully when you have a moment and apply it. I did this and it literally what got me over my fear of writing a book with my name on it. If I didn't have access to this tapping method, Dirty Genes would not have been written. Big hug |
Hi dr Ben i want to buy your lithium Orotate not sure If anyone stocks it in Australia? But wld that be ok to take even tho I can't tolerate methyl Bs? I buy all your supplements from return to health in NZ and I haven't seen the lithium Orotate there, but I'm hoping it won't be like methyl Bs? I use your b12 hydroxo lozenges ect, and I just read that lithium Orotate is a methyl form and due to trying to taper off a anxiety med methyls don't agree with me especially Methyl B vitamins, wld love some advice from u or those that have taken it for anxiety or and withdrawals from meds Show quoted text | Hi Theresa - Lithium Orotate is quite supportive of a healthy sense of calm - way different than methyl donors.* In fact, I often recommend Lithium Orotate to those who do need a healthy sense of calm after taking B12 or MTHF and finding them too stimulating.* Consider:

Hello there, I am working on increasing glutathione levels and getting non methylated B vitamins on board, however I am feeling very stymied in my progress due to profound anxiety whenever I try and boost detoxification. I'm wondering if my homozygous slow MAOA and heterozygous COMT and MTHFR are conspiring to make this difficult? I also have a homozygous slow VDR. So, sun, heat, emf exposure, epsom salt baths, exertion, all can trigger my post covid/post partum histamine issues. Low histamine diet has not provided adequate relief, nor has cromolyn sodium. Using an SSRI in the past did NOT work well for me. Would you suggest I try lithium orotate? I don't know if my hormone levels and neurotransmitters are too low or too high and unable to be broken down (or both, cycling?). I can't seem to tolerate anything to address gut disbiosis until I can get this awful anxiety in check. Thank you! | Hi Sarah - It's important to focus on what needs to be worked on vs thinking you need to increase B vitamins or glutathione. Perhaps your body is not needing either of those right now so adding them backfires. Let's start more gently. Consider:
Let's start here. It is still comprehensive yet gentle. The Bile Nutrients is a very soft way to support healthy detoxification and mood.* In health, |
Hello Dr Lynch, I’m looking for help with over excitability/irritability and anxiety. It seems lithium orotate may be the answer at a 5mg dose. I’m, however, reading some very scary stuff online about potential kidney damage and thyroid dysfunction even at a 5mg daily dose. I also have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. Will this negatively affect my thyroid, and do I have to regularly test my kidney function? Or are these scare tactics online? Thank you. | Hi Chelsea - The internet is both awesome and annoying :) Lithium Orotate at 5 mg is a fantastically safe amount and one that is very effective. I highly recommend you consider it. Additionally, consider:
This should be significantly helpful for you ;) In health, |
Hello, Unfortunately, I don’t understand because there are two different answers on the page, one from you and another one: Hi Guenter - Our labels always refer to the active amount of the nutrient claimed. Example: • Lithium (as lithium orotate) = 5 mg So we are claiming 5 mg of active lithium. In health, Dr. Lynch What is correct now? Please provide clarification. Thank you and best regards. | Hi Daniel - I would defer to Dr. Lynch's answer. If the label refers to the active amount, then it is 5mg pure lithium. My apologies. I assumed it was referring to 5mg lithium orotate. That was my mistake. Hope this clarifies it. Elizma Lambert (ElizmaLambert.com) |
Hello, I'm not sure how to interpret the supplements label. Is it 5mg of lithium orotate or is it 5mg of the pure trace element lithium? Thank You very much! | Hi Daniel - It is 5mg of lithium orotate. Not trace elemental lithium. Hans Nieper reported in 1973 that lithium orotate contains 3.83 mg of elemental lithium per 100g (3.83%). According to these numbers, 1 capsule of Lithium Orotate at 5 mg should contain about 0.17 mg of elemental lithium. Hope this helps :) Regards, |
Hello Dr Lynch, I am taking 30mg of SsRI and plan to switch to 40/60mg to popular Ssnri. Would lithium orotate interact with SSNRI? Also, I take 100mg HTP that helps, does sam e in histamine nutrients can have any negative affect on mood? Thank you for your help and guidance. | Hi Mona - Lithium Orotate would provide a sense of healthy calm mood.* If looking to support healthy serotonin and norepinephrine levels, consider Dopamine Nutrients with Serotonin Nutrients - 1 capsule of each.* You would not take these along with medications - that would not be advised. SAMe in the Histamine Nutrients is a low amount and should be minimal impact on mood. Take 2 capsules of Histamine Nutrients before bed to support healthy histamine levels.* I highly recommend also some foundational support:

Hello, I just watched your YouTube on lithium for anxiety and stress , I have hypothyroid and take NP thyroid 90 mg (which seems to increase in dose every year, whereas it previously held at 30mg). I don’t handle stress well and get very overwhelmed by sensory input. I am wondering how to use this with hypothyroidism. I am also using adrenal cortex, stress nutrients, glutathione plus, and trying to address MCAS/histamine issues , pre-diabetes, and hEDS simultaneously, and most recently miscarriage (majority of this sparked after long Covid a year and a half ago). Trying to get all this figured out to have a healthy pregnancy/baby. Have recently read your book and done stragene , getting overwhelmed by the “to-do’s” and supplements needed - but also ready to be healthy. Thank you for your help ! | Hi Melissa - I'm supporting Dr. Lynch in answering the influx of questions we are getting. I'm really sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Let's get you healthy for a successful pregnancy. It's easy to get overwhelmed. Focus on "Soak and Scrub: Your first two weeks" first if you haven't done so yet. Then "Spot Cleaning". Important "dirty genes" for a healthy pregnancy include MTHFR, DAO, and PEMT. For stress intolerance focus on COMT and MAOA. I suggest you focus on these genes. It's highly likely that MCAS/histamine issues may have contributed to your miscarriage. Histamine production and histamine breakdown both play very important roles in pregnancy. And long Covid is associated with histamine dysregulation. Thyroid function can also play a role. I suggest that you monitor your T4 hormone levels in the early stages of pregnancy once you fall pregnant. Low T4, low progesterone, and high histamine are common triggers for early miscarriage. Here are some suggestions: For stress, Lithium Orotate: Take 1 capsule during the day. For a healthy pregnancy: All the best :). Regards, |
Hello My 11-year-old daughter has ADHD and has a lot of anxiety and panic attacks. She is only at home as she does not dare to be at school or elsewhere due to anxiety. She has little concentration, is hyperactive, cannot focus and is easily irritated. She has COMT heterozygous, MAOA heterozygous and MAOB homozygous, and many heterozygous and some homozygous in inflammatory SNPs. She has not had the desired effect of the SSRI, but we give her 100mg 5-HTP which helps a little with the anxiety, but far from enough. Do you think Lithium Orotate might be worth a try? Or are there any other products that might be better? Thank you for your time! | Hi Morton - I'd consider Optimal Focus. Optimal Focus provides healthy support for the brain's primary calming neurotransmitter called acetylcholine.* Consider:
I have high hopes that this combination is excellent for her. Make sure she does not have her phone at night before bed. She needs to sleep. Also turn off WiFi in the house before sleep. In health, |
Would you agree that this supplement can help B12 and folate get into the cells? I was B12 deficient and experienced peripheral neuropathy. I have been injecting 1.5mg Hydroxo twice a week for 4 months and my folate levels appear fine (including RBC). My symptoms are improving but I still experience tingling and have not been able to reduce the injections. I do not have pernicious anemia. I am also taking alpha-lipid acid and acetylene l-carinitine for nerve support. While nerves can take time to heal, I wonder if the B12 isn't fully getting into the cells and I'd benefit from this small amount of lithium orotate for that reason. | Hi Sandra - We actually have an article written on lithium and vitamin B12: https://support.seekinghealth.com/en-US/lithium-and-cellular-b12-absorption-660853 In short, there is more evidence that glutathione may help to bind and transport B12 into cells than lithium. You may want to try Glutathione Plus or Liposomal Glutathione together with Hydroxo B12 injections or lozenges. Also consider taking Optimal PC or Fish Oil to support healthy myelination of nerves.* Regards, |
I use a number of your products, including Lithium Orotate. My massage therapist saw something Dr. Lynch did, stating that Lithium Orotate crosses the blood brain barrier and can lower high histamine levels in the brain. Could you tell me more about that...OR lead me to something Dr. Lynch shared? Thank you. | Hi Marcia - Lithium orotate supports a healthy calm mind.* If one is calm, there is less likely to have mast cell activation and thus histamine levels may be healthier. If one is stressed or anxious, they activate mast cells and increase histamine in the blood. In one is calm, mast cells are not activated by stress and therefore histamine levels don't increase. Lithium does not actively lower histamine - it's indirectly supported by a healthy response to stressors.* If you're looking to support overall healthy blood levels of histamine in the brain and elsewhere, consider:*

Hi Dr Lynch I previously asked on the page about a multi vitamin for my 16 year old daughter: Homozygous MAO, COMT, DAO, GST Hetero MTHFR Unknown NOS3 We are now staring her on electrolyte (about to try unflavoured as didn't like the lemondae); gall bladder nutrients before dinner and the glutathione lozenge. Before I order hte unflavoured electrolyte, is there anything you can think of that might help with high levels of nausea due to anxiety/stress. This symptom is stopping her from living her life and trying new things as the nausea is unbearable for her whenever she contemplates trying something new. Anything else you can suggest at this time? Amy | Hi Amy - I'd consider Lithium Orotate for her and/or Stress Nutrients. I would not introduce her to the multivitamin quite yet. She should notice an effect from either of those supplements within about 20 minutes. In health, |
I have SLOW COMT and SLOW MAOA. A couple weeks ago I tried Lithium Orotate - sorry, not yours as I needed it NOW & purchased some locally. Now that I have some, I can purchase yours next time. But, what I found is that I seem to need it less and less. At first dose, it took 3 tablets to calm me down and the next morning I still did NOT have the typical morning anxiety return. It eventually did during the day but I was amazed how it still seemed to keep me calm after about 15 hours of taking it the first time. Now, 2 weeks later, I am finding that I need less and less and not every day. Perhaps too early to tell, but does Lithium Orotate build up - fill the buckets - in our body and therefore our dosing requirements will/should be less over time? Thank you for bringing Seeking Health, Dirty Genes, and all your Youtube videos to us! This enlightenment has been a game changer for me! | Diane - Great observation. Lithium Orotate supports a healthy brain by supporting healthy glutamate levels. Glutamate is excitotoxic. So what is likely happening is the lithium is supporting healthy glutamate levels in the brain which is calming and helping heal your brain.* I notice this with Optimal Focus as well. I take it and the benefits seem to last for many days now vs needing it daily. Optimal Focus supports healthy acetylcholine levels which support healthy sense of calm focus.* Acetylcholine is also a neurotransmitter that supports healthy levels of inflammation in the brain. Thus, if one has low acetylcholine, they have more brain inflammation. If they have healthy levels of acetylcholine, they have healthy brain function.* In health, |
Hi I am reaching out about my husband. Our story is long, about 36 years long. I know it would be difficult to advise unless you have the full picture. However, I'll try to put it in a "nut shell". It all started about 36 years ago that we think he was poisoned at one point. Since then for the first 18 years he doctored with the "MD's" (in which almost killed him) underwent numerous test (blood, CT's/MRI's, UGI, LGI, IV tx etc.), The last 18 years he turned to natural medicine. This greatly turned things around. However he is still not out of the woods. Eight years ago he developed a lump over his stomach. This was the size of a small football and is very painful when pressed on. He also developed EXTREME anxiety, panic and OCD. With much nutrition and supplements the lump has reduced greatly and we feel it is detoxing out of his system. But the OCD and anxiety/panic is out of control. We have been watching a lot of the videos Dr Ben Lynch has put out and did purchase his book and the Lithium Orotate. We haven't received it yet. After watching many videos more, it seems there may be more we should be doing. Do you have any suggestions for our situation?? I would love to talk to someone due to there is so much I have left out of our story. Thank you for your time, Cheryl | Hi Annabelle - I first want to say that his feeling of anxiety and panic is typical when your body is negatively affected as his is currently. I am glad the lump is improving. The lump needs to be diagnosed and the cause identified. Please work with a health professional to help you with this. Look for a licensed naturopathic physician in your area or a functional medicine doctor. A few tips:
The Lithium Orotate is helpful to support a healthy response to stress.* I'd also consider Serotonin Nutrients before bed and possibly again during the day to support a healthy response to stress.* For healthy detoxification support, I'd consider 1 capsule of Calcium-D-Glucarate and 2 capsules of Gallbladder Nutrients before dinner.* You may ask for a referral list from my team for health professionals. In health, |
I have been using this for a few months and feel like it’s helping me a ton! I am planning a pregnancy and am currently also on 50mg of Zoloft (Sertraline- SSRI). Is it highly advised to not continue Lithium Orotate while pregnant (especially not with SSRI use) or am I on too low a dose of both to be concerned? | Hi Kelsey - I'm happy the Lithium orotate is helping you! :) I suspect that you need to talk with your doctor about reducing your Zoloft prescription. Reason being is lithium essentially reduces the effect of serotonin activity - so that tells me you are experiencing too much serotonin which the lithium is supporting a healthy level of now. I'm actually more concerned about Zoloft during pregnancy than I am Lithium Orotate - but ideally you won't need either of them. Here's why: "The study was performed on neonatal male western albino rats which were divided into Groups one (control), two (propionic acid [PPA]-induced autism model), and three (prenatal SSRI-exposed newborn rats whose mothers were exposed to 5 mg/kg of fluoxetine over gestation days 10–20). SSRI (fluoxetine) induced significant neurochemical abnormalities in the rat brain by increasing lipid peroxide (MDA), Interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), and caspase-3 levels and by depleting Glutathione (GSH), Glutathione S-transferases (GST), Catalase, potassium (K+), and Creatine kinase (CK) levels, similarly to what has been discovered in the PPA model of autism when compared with control. Prenatal fluoxetine exposure plays a significant role in asset brain damage in newborns; further investigation of fluoxetine as an autism risk factor is thus warranted." A meta-analysis shows confusion around this topic: I'd really like to see you working with your doctors and ideally getting off of the SSRI's. Consider reading Dirty Genes and applying the chapters of MAOA and COMT. In health, |
If someone is taking Effexor (SNRI), how safe is it to add lithium orotate to the regimen? Thank you! | Hi Tanya - It is safe to use 1 capsule of Lithium Orotate with this medication. Do keep an eye on how you feel though as everyone's response to things can be varied. If you are needing to use Lithium Orotate to have a feeling of healthy calm mood, then I would talk with your doctor about your dosage of Effexor. You may be taking too much or it may be the wrong medication for you.* In health, |
What is the max dosage I can use for my 17 year old aggressive autistic son,107 pounds? He's using only 5 Mgs. It knocks the edge off his aggression but it's not enough. His doctor loves your product as well but doesn't know how much to recommend. She only know how much to give with the medical grade ones by prescription, but we both agreed that it's not safe for my son. Also, he has Fibromyalsia and lives in pain. Tylenol is not good for his MTHFR issues and he can't take Insaids along side the lithium. What can I do for his pain relief? PLEASE PLEASE HELP US? 🙏 | Hi Sharon - I would consider adding Histamine Nutrients and giving him 2 capsules in the morning and possibly another two capsules at night. For the fibromyalgia, that's often due to ATP deficiency and magnesium deficiency both. Consider Optimal Electrolyte Unflavored (1 scoop) mixed with a bit of juice that he likes. Have him sip this in the morning. The Optimal Electrolyte has creatine and ATP which both support healthy muscle tension and hydration.* In a couple months, we will have new flavors for Optimal Electrolyte which he can use any of those. Right now, they have Glycine in the flavors and I don't want him getting the glycine. The new batch doesn't have this. Pain increases irritability so need to work on this as you know. He may do well with Serotonin Nutrients - but it may also backfire. I'm not sure. Fibromyalgia, pain and irritability may be associated with low serotonin levels - especially if there is a constipation component to it and carb cravings. Serotonin Nutrients supports healthy serotonin levels.* He would take 1 capsule before bed. I do think it's worth giving Serotonin Nutrients a shot. It could really support him - or it could backfire. If it back fires, ask for a refund. If it works, then that's awesome :) I don't want him taking too much lithium orotate as too much can interfere with thyroid metabolism and we don't want that. In health, |
Hi Dr Lynch, can these capsules be opened up and put in to liquid. ? I know there are a couple of your tablets you have said not to open, just can’t remember which ones. | Hi Reine - Yes, you may open the capsule and put on a bite of food. I find this to be the best way - especially with minerals such as lithium. Mixing in liquid often times wastes the supplements as they stick to the side of the glass. Lithium Orotate should actually be taken with some food as it is a mineral. In health, |
Hello and thank you ! I am wondering if Lithium Ororate would be appropriate or help at all with Tourette’s Syndrome ? My Granddaughter was diagnosed yesterday , looking for anything that might help her -she has severe and painful jerking . | Hi Shelly - Tourette's syndrome is associated with high levels of dopamine and glutamate. One wants to support healthy levels of both. I would consider:

Is this 5mg of elemental lithium? | Hi Joel - Great question. You know your supplements. Yes, it is elemental. At Seeking Health, we always claim the 'elemental' amount as a standard across all our formulations. It's the honest way. In health, |
Is it ok to take one everyday and if so for how long? | Hi Anne - You may take as needed. If you're looking to support a healthy mood during times of increased stress or anxiousness, then that's a good time to take it. I'd also look into Stress Nutrients as it's a great one as well In health, |
