Kids Multivitamin Chewable- Product UpdatesUpdated 20 days ago

Formulation change: (Jan 2025)

Folate amount changed from 340 mcg to 255 mcg DFE (150 mcg) 64% DV

Children between the ages of 4 and 8 require 200 mcg DFE (Dietary Folate Equivalents) of folate daily, as recommended by the RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance). This is also the established Daily Value (DV) for this age group. For children aged 9 to 12, the RDA increases to 300 mcg DFE per day, with a corresponding DV of 300 mcg DFE for ages 9–13.

DFE is used as the measurement standard because the body absorbs folate from supplements more efficiently than the folate found naturally in foods. However, consuming too much folate can lead to undesirable effects in children, such as headaches, irritability, elevated histamine levels, and difficulty sleeping.

Providing sufficient but not excessive amounts of folate can positively impact a child’s mood and overall well-being. For younger children, this balance may result in a noticeable support of mood regulation. Optimal Multivitamin Chewable can be a great option if additional folate is desired. It delivers just over 100% (112%) of the DV for children ages 4–8 and slightly under 100% of the DV for older children. This formulation ensures tailored support for varying age-based nutritional needs.†"
