I see Betaine Hydrochloride in them too, is that like HCI for low stomach acid, would these taken with food aid digestion, or am I mistaking it ? Would you need pepsin too for it to work for that? Also why is it in there, to help the iron absorb? Thanks, Laura | Hi Laura - I use Betaine HCL in the Iron supplement as it does support healthy iron absorption as it supports healthy stomach acid levels.* Pepsin may be needed for some and others not. Hello, it's been suggested that I take iron due to very low ferritin. However, I have high iron, high sat%, high hemoglobin, high hematocrit. I've been told I have secondary polycythemia and heterozygous hemochromatosis. If I do blood donations, my ferritin gets even lower. It's at 15 right now. Some say not to take iron. I am also homozygous MTHFR | I am not an expert in hematology. I am not sure what to do in this situation. I would measure your homocysteine levels and make sure they are between 6 to 8 umol/L. If they are not, then use Homocysteine Nutrients to support healthy homocysteine levels.* Healthy homocysteine levels are key for healthy levels of inflammation which need to be reigned in for blood disorders.* In health, |
11-11-2024 lab results: t3 Total 61, t3 uptake 36, free t3, 2.6, t4 total 4.8, free t4 1.0, free t4 index 1.7, TSH 1.32 Total Iron, 139 IBC, 277, Sat% 50 Ferritin 68, Folate 13.6, b12 408 I tried Armour thyroid and Adrenal Cortex,- made me worse. Only symptom i have now is I suddenly get extremely cold. Can I try taking this Iron supp. I am 51 female on HRT. Very active | Another thing:
In health, I don't think you need more iron based on your results above. Too much iron may contribute to inflammation and we don't want that. Sudden onset of cold may be associated with an immune response that's attacking your blood vessels. Consider:
This combination is very supportive of healthy blood flow.* You'll literally feel warmth with the Joint Nutrients and PreWorkout Nutrients. In health, |
Your Iron Chewables have Ferric Glycinate. I use your Optimal Multivitamin due to MTHFR and the inability to methylate. I have also been using ferrous for my iron supplement due being anemic (autoimmune Pernicious Anemia). I've never heard of Ferric Glycinate which is in your chewables. Is this a good replacement for Ferrous? The Optimal Multivitamin sounds great, but I don't want to overload my body with vitamins. | Our chewable iron is a great, well-tolerated form of iron. Take with some food. You may need to take 2 chewables per day vs 1 as it is 10 grams per tablet. One thing to know about autoimmune anemias:

Hi, kind of desperate here. I think my kid got anemia. He's pale, tired, develop slightly chest pain (after some weird virus you know what), anxiety, sometimes gut pain, a lot of irritation. 1 year back he has been a lot sick, tired easily and just soo irritated. He doesn't wanna do anything except videogaming(max2haday), complining about no energi. Swollen tounge, and very pale, mucus membrane also pale. We are follow your dirty genes book and eating as healthy as possible. Grass fed meat, and organic foods. Eating liver once a week. Ghee, tallow, bone marrow. Maybe could eat more vegetables I don't know anymore everyone tells us not to eat a lot o veggis cuz of all kind of weird stuff. Feels like a djungel today when every one says different things. My mindset has always been eat everything but not always, but yeah something even you start to doubt about yourself belive. He's taking probiotics histamine night time and Kids chewable 2 times day 1 tsb of colostrum to support his immune system 1/4 tbs cod liver oil At the summer break no virus or anything like that, perfectly healthy. But as soon as school started, oh boy... Feels like we are living as healthy as possible but still struggles. It's hard to see your kid not doing well. It's the worst rotten feeling every. Could it be iron? I know iron are really important but iron kind of scares me cuz people says it's bad for you. How can I support him? He's 9 years old and a tall skinny guy, going to be very tall as his father. Thank, I'm learning a lot from you, and in a world of sooo many "health professionals" I'm always belive 100% in your work and words. | I hear you on the conflicting information. They key is listening to how your body feels after you make a change or do something. Your son needs to start doing this as well. I suspect there are some foods he is reacting to like gluten or cow dairy. I also suspect that this generation is so connected online that disconnecting and doing things in person is much harder to do these days. I'd consider getting him involved in team sports or some type of scheduled activity where he has to go and be somewhere to do something. He may be iron deficient - and should be lab tested to check as it's not good to be too high in iron. The Kids Multivitamin Chewable has some iron in it. Two hours a day gaming isn't bad - quite good actually. He may be B12 and folate deficient - again - lab testing can show this. Ask his doctor to do a CBC with chem panel and serum ferritin and vitamin D. Consider:
I'm not sure which nootropic to give him. Let's try the above and let's see what remains. He may need Serotonin Nutrients or Brain Nutrients or Glutathione Plus Lozenge. Not sure yet on those. In health, |
How much of this product do I take to treat anemia ? | Take as you need personally. Most adults take 30 mg of iron at a time. You may find that you do well with taking 3 of these chewables after your dinner or lunch. You may also find that you do best with 1 chewable with each meal of the day. Find what works best with your schedule and how you feel. This is a very absorbed form of iron so it's comfortable on the stomach. In health, |
Hi, again. I wanted a little more clarification. Can I take iron chewable at lunch with 2X - Omega 1X - Vitamin D3, 2X - Gallbladder Nutrients, 2X - 125 mg Ox Bile, 1X - Digestive Enzyme and could I combine the 1X - ProBiota HistaminX, 1X - Optimal PC , 1X - DGL 1X - Optimal Magnesium ? Can that all be taken at bed or should be right after dinner? I really, really appreciate the help. Seeking Health products have changed my life so much. | Lunch - all good. Before bed or right after dinner - all those are good to take either time - flexible - except - I'd take the DGL right before bed and also upon waking in the morning - you want DGL on an empty stomach. If you're looking to support a healthy gut lining, look at our Gut Nutrients capsules. It contains DGL along with other key nutrients to support a healthy gut lining.* You would take Gut Nutrients - 3 capsules before bed and 2-3 capsules upon waking. In health, |
Hi, I'm trying to determine the best time to take the iron chewable based on the schedule below. I prefer to take the iron with food, but I'm concerned it might interact and/or cause constipation. Additionally, I am currently being treated for mold. If there's anything else that could be combined effectively, please let me know. Many thanks! My Ferritin is 3, Homocysteine 12, Sensitive to B Vitamins 5 AM - Thyroid Meds 1X - Optimal Electrolytes 8 AM - Breakfast 1X - Digestive Enzyme by Seeking Health 1X - Homocysteine Nutrients (TU, TH) by Seeking Health ¼ tablet - Welchol (M, W, F) 10 AM - 1X - Iron Chewable by Seeking Health 12:00 PM - Lunch 2X - Omega by Seeking Health 1X - Vitamin D3 by Seeking Health 2X - Gallbladder Nutrients by Seeking Health 2X - 125 mg Ox Bile by Seeking Health 1X - Digestive Enzyme 3 PM - Mold Treatment - Binders (M, W, F) 5 PM - Dinner 2X - Gallbladder Nutrients 2X - 125 mg Ox Bile 1X - Digestive Enzyme 5 PM - After Dinner 1X - ProBiota HistaminX by Seeking Health 1X - Optimal PC by Seeking Health (noticed it caused some depression and low mood) 8 PM - 1X - DGL 1X - Optimal Magnesium by Seeking Health 1X - Magnesium Citrate (M, W, F) *castor oil packs at night | Our iron is chelated and is very well tolerated compared to many iron supplements. My wife is very sensitive to iron supplements usually and does well with ours. Your schedule looks good. Take the Iron anytime that works for you - it's flexible. I would take it away from the binders is all. In terms of the PC, that's typical in those with low serotonin. You may need Serotonin Nutrients in the evening before bed or in the morning upon waking as it supports healthy serotonin levels.* In health, |
Hello Can 12 year old with low iron and histamine intolerance take iron chewable 10mg and ProBiota Histamine. | Yes on both. I'd also consider Histamine Digest with meals and/or Histamine Nutrients 1-2 capsules before bed. In health, |
Hi Dr. Lynch, I understand that calcium or dairy can interfere with absorption of iron. Could you please advise what is generally recommended amount of time one should wait after taking supplements with calcium or consuming dairy products before taking an Iron Chewable supplement? Thanks! Dia | I am not certain but I suspect 2 to 4 hours is plenty of separation. In health, |
Hello, I've noticed some of your products including this one contain xylitol. I'm currently having success in managing symptoms with the low fodmap diet and understand xylitol to be a high fodmap and gut irritant. Have you had an issues with people reacting to this ingredient or is it in a small quantity? Many thanks | It depends on the person. Many do well with the low amount of xylitol we use but some do not. You can use our Optimal Iron which is free of xylitol and that's what I suggest: I highly recommend you consider Saccharomyces Boulardii after dinner to support a healthy microbiome.* Additionally, a capsule of Calcium-D-Glucarate with dinner or after dinner to support healthy bile production and flow which are often low in those with fodmap issues.* In health, |
Can you share how this product relates to 325mg ferrous sulfate (65mg elemental iron)? Absorption or potential differences in quality of the iron type. Would like to switch from a chemical filled, dye "enhanced" garbage supplement to a better product like yours. Thanks! | The key is looking at Elemental Iron as it's the amount of elemental iron that is actually utilized by your body. The iron we use is far better than what you're talking about - it's scary what's out there. The issue with the chewable, you'll need about 6 chewaables to provide 65 mg of elemental iron. Our capsules of Optimal Iron you will only need 2 capsules to provide you 58 mg of elemental iron. The Optimal Iron you'll likely get more iron than compared to what you were taking at 65 mg because of the formulation. It is designed to support healthy absorption and transport of iron. Take it with any meal of the day. It's very well tolerated. I designed this one for my wife, Nadia, as she couldn't handle other iron supplements. In health, |
Took some blodtest, my ferritin come back low, but iron was OK, hemoglobin was almost OK, it was in the lower range but still OK. Can it still be anemia? My main problems are (always on my period) shortness of breath, upper gut pain, mouth ulcers, swollen tongue, and craving drinking blood, I'm not doing that, just crave it, so weird. Should this help with ferritin? I give birth for 4 months ago, lost some blood got my period back 2 months ago. I've been taking iron supplements before and feels better but I'm kind of scare to take it cuz people tell me not to do it . I can't stomach liver, I've tried so many time but man it's so hard. So should I be carefull with iron supplements or what's your thoughts? Kind regards, Anna | Yes, you do need some iron it sounds like. I recommend Optimal Iron - it's more potent and has cofactors to enhance absorption.* Take 1 capsule with dinner. In health, |
Hello, Thank you for this great platform and the greatest supplement co. Question - I was wondering if i should take this supplement. I am a male 34 years old. My ferritin levels came extremely low - 16 ng/ml but my Hemoglobin is at normal at 14.5 My TIBC was at 474, UIBC at 366 ug/dL MY T3 uptake at 23. | You're welcome - thank you for the kind words. Yes you may - absolutely. Take with food. My question is why are you low iron? Make sure you do a fecal occult blood test to make sure you don't have a slow yet chronic loss of blood. I also recommend eating grass fed liver. This provides you a great form of iron that's well absorbed. In health, |
How long to take Iron supplements if a person has anemia (8.2)? | That's a great question. There are a myriad of factors that go into this answer. I would simply take 1 chewable of Iron Chewable three times a day with each meal. If you find that the iron gives you too much energy from taking it at night, then consider taking 2 chewables with breakfast and 1 with lunch. Then, I'd retest your serum ferritin and chem panel with diff with your doctor in a month. In health, |
My naturopath suggested taking 3 tablets every second day. Can i take them all at the same time? | I am sorry we are not health professionals and we do not know your individual needs. Please reach out to your naturopath to make sure this is right for you. |
