Immune Intensive Dr. Lynch product Q&AUpdated 7 hours ago

Question Answer
Needing help in finding what would help with boosting immune system for getting body ready for vaccines. I have immune intensive, vit. D/K/C, desiccated liver/organs/marrow, fish oil…Any direction would be so helpful if I’m missing anything. Thank you!

Hi Nikki -

That's a pretty good list.

Two things I see missing:

  • Glutathione Plus Lozenge: 1/2 to 1 lozenge upon waking and one right before getting the vaccines.*
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule upon waking in the morning to support a healthy histamine response.*

I'd also space out the vaccines over a few weeks vs all of them at one time.

Can children take this? If so, what would the dose be? Thank you!

Children can take Immune Intensive.

The dosage typically depends on their age and weight.

A child 12+ years old can take the adult dosage of 6mL (1.22 tsp).

Below 12+ Clark's rule equation is sometimes used to calculate the dosage. This is:

(Weight divided by 150 pounds) x adult dose = child dose

So if your child weighs 40 pounds:

(40 / 150 which is 0.27) x 6mL = 1.6mL

You can also use kg instead of lbs. Just be consistent.

In young children under age 2, I would suggest checking with their healthcare practitioner first.

Can I take NOW Respir-all at the same time when I'm sick?

Yes, you may.

Not feeling well.......If I'm sick, do I still only take 1 serving? And if I usually take the electrolyte powder and NAC, any changes there? Can I take a decongestant?

I have a few suggestions to consider:

  • if you don't have a fever, try to encourage one. Take a hot bath, sauna, get in bed with lots of blankets and sweats on and a hat. Fever is a great way for your body to kill viruses and bacteria.
  • if you have a fever, let it go and don't take Tylenol. Only take Tylenol if your fever reaches 104F and taking off layers, taking a warm shower (not cold or hot) or taking a warm bath doesn't help lower it.
  • Optimal Electrolyte: drink a few servings a day especially if sweating a lot. Add a pinch of additional salt if sweating a lot. Hydration is key when sick and this supports healthy hydration.*
  • Rest. Go to bed and literally stay in bed and go for just short walks if you have the energy but don't deplete too much energy as your immune system needs a lot of it to fight.
  • NAC: can take a few times a day at 2 capsules each time during the acute stages as this supports healthy thinning of mucous.* Take with food and plenty of water.
  • Immune Intensive: take 1 serving a few times a day when you need it and then stop when you don't.
  • eat soup, broths. Feed a fever and starve a cold.
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after dinner

This should help a fair bit :)

I am at a loss as what to take I have read Dirty Genes, I had a tetanus vaccine about 35 yrs ago within hrs I wasn’t feeling well , woke up the next morning my knees, hands were so swollen and I had burning pain from head to toe, the Doctors all said I had fibromyalgia , battling all these yrs with no help from them, I do have a new Dr . now I’m praying can help. I have MTHFR A1286A Homozygous, possibly Celiac still testing, severe arthritis in my feet and ankles, I don’t sleep well at all , very tired but as soon as I go to bed my brain starts thinking, wake up all night long, I ‘m on the keto diet which has helped me more than anything,I can’t take the methyl nutrients .My question is I’m having a total knee replacement here on Nov. 11 and was wondering this immune nutrient would benefit me, I have order your optimal sleep. It seems like the least amount of stuff I take the better I am 70 yrs old.

I hear you.

A few things to consider:

  • go 100% gluten-free
  • go 100% cow dairy-free
  • consider Low Dose Naltrexone - ask your doctor
  • keto diet is great but it's hard on the gallbladder and liver. Consider supporting it with Bile Nutrients - 2 to 4 capsules before dinner to support healthy bile production and bile flow which is essential for keto and healthy joints.*
  • Vitamin D3+K2: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Joint Nutrients: 1 capsule upon rising and 1 capsule before bed - this is key.
  • Optimal Sleep II: this is very supportive of a healthy onset of sleep.* Take 1 to 3 capsules before bed.
  • look into your hormones. Progesterone and Testosterone may be too low and possibly estrogen as well.
  • before bed, have some carbs to help you sleep. I know this isn't keto but a bit of carbs is very supportive of sleep. Try organic sweet potatoes or yams.

I have been down 4 weeks with pneumonia and 4 rounds of antibiotics and now the X-ray reading was read as pneumonia under control but gunk left in my lung still needs cleaning . A friend had recommended NAC but because of previous sulfa drug issue( rash). And mthfr mutation and allergies, I wasn’t sure if I could take the NAC. I spoke to a rep ( very kind lady) and she mentioned “Immune Sensitive” as a possibility to help clear up the gunk. She recommended that I ask for direction on this site. I also use B complex MF , folinic acid, Adeno B12, Zinc lozenge, Histamine Digest, ProBiota Histamine X and Optimal Electrolyte , all from Seeking Health which have been the absolutely BEST supplements ever. I would greatly appreciate some direction on which supplements would be suitable . Thanks SO much , I honestly don’t know if I would be alive if I hadn’t found Seeking Health years ago!

Ouch. Sorry you're dealing with this.

I'm glad you're getting better.

Consider:

  • Glutathione Plus: 1 lozenge in the morning and another one midday for a week then reduce likely to 1/2 a lozenge upon waking and then that's enough. You'll learn how it makes you feel when you need it and when you don't. If taking too much, you can get a headache and we don't want that.
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 glass upon waking and 2 more servings throughout the day. Hydration is KEY to support healthy thinning of the mucous.*
  • NAC: I hear you on the sulfa concern. This is different than sulfa drugs. Take 2 capsules after a protein based breakfast and 2 capsules with lunch. Do not take in the evening as it will make you cough possibly.
  • Molybdenum: 1 capsule after dinner to support healthy sulfur metabolism.*
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Vitamin D3+K2: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Saccharomyces Boulardii: 1 capsule after dinner until the bottle is empty then stop. This is important to support healthy gut post-antibiotics.*
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after dinner to support a healthy microbiome.*
  • sauna or steam: this is a great way to help inhale moist hot air into your lungs which is very helpful.

I don't think you need Immune Intensive now. I think you're past that point. I would have recommended this at the onset but you're now in the recovery stage.

Be careful not to take too much of the B complex, Folinic Acid and B12 together. Too much can overstimulate your brain causing headaches, difficulty sleeping or irritability. You want healthy levels of energy and a happy mood so use as needed - not daily.*

Thank you Dr. Lynch for the informative answer. I have a couple of follow up questions: - Organic Acid test showed no deficiency in Omega 3. Is fish oil still needed? or should it be take less or less frequently? - Regarding the Optimal Man: because of my gene, I need vitamin A in retinyl form. Optimal Man has both beta-carotene and retinyl palmitate, is there enough retinyl in it for me? - Also because of my gene (FUT2), I'd need subligual B12, when I switch to Optimal Man, I would need to add the subligual B12. How often and how much should I take the sublingual B12? - Optimal Man has 25 mg of Zinc. That sounds high, I was going to do 10-15 mg. Is Optimal Man meant to be taken daily and long term continuously? thank you!

Few things:

  • go by symptoms as well - not just lab tests or genetic tests.
  • if you feel you need Fish Oil, then use it. Otherwise, you can skip it. I always question 'normal ranges' on labs as there's a deficiency state and there's an optimal state.
  • You're good with vitamin A in Optimal Man. Your BCO1 gene is slower but not completely defective. There's 50% of the retinyl form.
  • FUT2 - this is a significant gene when it comes to infections and such. If you're not showing a high MCV or MCH, then you're not deficient in B12. You can take additional B12 by lozenge if needed.
  • 25 mg of Zinc - that is high for a daily dose if not needed. This is why I recommend taking 2 capsules with breakfast. The 25 mg is in 4 capsules. Very rarely will you take 2 or 4 if ever. You may find that 1 capsule does really well for you most days. I do take breaks from it as well. I take a multivitamin when I feel I need more energy as it supports healthy energy metabolism.*

hi Dr. Lynch, I have a question about one of your answers. You said that the Immune Intensive is too potent, it's not meant for daily use. You suggest to someone to use Optimal Man instead. After reviewing the ingredient of Optimal Man I couldn't understand what makes more potent. Optimal Man has the same quantify of vitamin A, same quantity of selenium, 80% of vitamin D, 25mg vs 15 mg Zinc, the biggest difference is in vitamin C, 100mg vs. 1000mg. Could you please help me understand what makes the Immune Intensive so intense? What is a good daily vitamin and mineral for a pretty healthy 60 yo female, to support optimal energy production and healthy aging? I am already taking B minus, Hydroxo+Folinic Acid, for tingling fingers and tinnitus. I have low bone density, what supplement would be good for bone health?

Good point.

High zinc without copper is not a good idea to take long term as it can deplete copper.

Optimal Man has copper to balance the high zinc.

For you, consider:

  • Glutathione Plus: 1/2 to 1 lozenge upon waking
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1 serving upon waking and another serving or two later in the day
  • Optimal Man: 2 capsules with breakfast and another 1-2 capsules if needed at lunch time otherwise, if you're feeling good, don't take those additional capsules.
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Liver Nutrients: 1 capsule after dinner
  • stop the B Minus and Hydroxo/Folinic Acid when you start the Optimal Man.

The Optimal Man is great as it supports healthy testosterone levels which women need as well as they age.

Hi! If taking immune intesive should I stop taking a multivitamin? or are both ok?

It's OK to take both :).

Is this safe for nursing (breastfeeding) mothers and pregnant women?

Nursing yes.

Pregnant women need to use 1/2 the serving size once to twice a day and for 3 days maximum.

What would be a comparable product that you offer that does NOT contain choline? We are on our very last bottle of Immune Intensive for our special needs child and this has been amazing for when she gets sick. There's something about choline that makes her have seizure like activity... she starts cramping up in a CP kinda way and it's very scary and painful for her. The rep said there was no more older stock left without the choline. Help?!?!?!

I love Immune Intensive as well.

I'll see what I can do to make it without choline.

Only thing I can think of is using our immune support supplements one at a time:

  • Vitamin D3 Drops: 2 drops as needed
  • Zinc Lozenge: 1/2 a lozenge as needed

The Vitamin A Drops also have choline in them.

I suspect her microbiome is off which may be why she is responding poorly to the choline.

Consider looking into stool testing.

Would this be good for a 65 year old man, Stage 4 colorectal cancer going through intense chemotherapy (weekly)?

This would not, no.

Please read the book, Metabolic Approach to Cancer by Dr. Nasha Winters

L-Glutamine powder may be supportive for him if experiencing bloody stools, mouth ulcers as it supports a healthy gut lining.*

Consider 10 grams in a liter of filtered water and sip throughout the day.

How do I dose this in kids vs adults? Thanks!

Give your kids 1/2 the amount as for an adult.

You use Immune Intensive acutely for short term use. It is not designed for long term immune support as it is very potent.

I recommend using 1/2 a serving a couple times a day for your kids for a duration of a few days or as long as they need healthy immune support - then stop.*

For an adult, actively use Immune Intensive 1-3 servings a day for a few days then stop.

perplexed I loved the old product, as I felt it helped with illness for my whole family and I had enough. Getting the new bottle made me feel like I don't have enough for more than 1 person during a season of illness and it's expensive. The flavor is dramatically different too. I do like the dropper-type lid for easy dropping into a spoon. I'm torn on how to use this product just as it's packaged, so it can be used to support all of us.

The formulation is essentially improved from the prior one:

  • has added elderberry
  • improved flavor profile
  • added flavonoids
  • less servings per bottle so it stays fresh as most families did not use 30 servings within 30 days upon opening.

Immune Intensive is designed to be used only when one needs significant immune support and that's it.

For example:

  • take 1 serving the day you go traveling in crowded areas like a plane or train or concert
  • take when you're feeling your immune system needs extra support

This is not a daily supplement for healthy immune support.

For daily healthy immune support, consider one of our multivitamins along with our Vitamin D3+K2.

Such as:

  • Multivitamin One: take 1 capsule at breakfast 3 times a week
  • Vitamin D3+K2: 1 capsule with any meal of the day daily

Would this be beneficial for active inflammation from autoimmune diseases? I know I have MTHFR, but also have 4 autoimmune conditions and looking for a way to calm inflammation in the body, quickly.

I hear you.

In this situation, consider:

  • Gluten-free
  • Cow dairy-free
  • Eating more meat, less vegetables - follow Paul Saladino, MD on Instagram to learn about eating meat, fruit, honey, raw dairy (I recommend goat dairy) and organs
  • nose breathing all the time except during heavy exertion

For supplementation, consider:

  • Fish Oil: take 2 capsules after dinner
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Joint Nutrients: 1 capsule immediately upon waking and 1 capsule immediately before bed
  • Vitamin D3+K2: 1 capsule after dinner
  • Glutathione Plus Lozenges: take 1/2 to 1 lozenge immediately upon waking in the morning
  • Optimal Electrolyte Unflavored: sip 1 to 3 servings a day
  • Adrenal Cortex: take 1 capsule in the morning with breakfast to support healthy cortisol levels.* Low cortisol is associated with higher inflammation. Only take if waking up frequently to pee at night, waking very tired in the morning or waking up way too early
  • Digestive Enzymes: take 1-2 capsules with each meal to support healthy digestion of protein, carbohydrates and fat.* Digestion is key to support healthy inflammation.
  • Histamine Digest: take 1 capsule with meals to support healthy histamine levels in the gut.* High histamine in the gut gets absorbed in the body which is associated with inflammation everywhere.
  • Histamine Nutrients: take 1-2 capsules before bed to support healthy histamine levels IF you are staring at the ceiling and cannot sleep, or experiencing high histamine levels.

These are suggestions and not saying to take all of them. They are options and I recommend selecting a few of them or so to get started.

If I were to pick only three, it depends on your situation.

Overall, the most supportive could be:

  • Joint Nutrients
  • Vitamin D3+K2
  • Histamine Digest

If I were to pick 5, I'd add:

  • Fish Oil or Glutathione Lozenge
  • Adrenal Cortex or Histamine Nutrients

Keep me posted. This should help a lot.

Is it okay to take Immune Intensive and Glutathione plus as daily supplements to support my immune system and detox my body?

I'd adjust that a bit.

Consider:

  • Immune Intensive: use only as needed during times of needing healthy immune support.* Do not use daily as it is very potent
  • Optimal Man: take 2 capsules with breakfast to support an overall healthy immune system with the trace minerals, vitamins and additional ingredients.* This is a great way to support your healthy immune system that is more gentle.*
  • Glutathione Plus Lozenge: upon waking, take 1/2 to 1 lozenge and likely another 1/2 to 1 lozenge later in the day if you feel you need it.
  • Gallbladder Nutrients: take 2 capsules before dinner to support healthy bowel movements, healthy bile production and bile flow which is a huge support for healthy detoxification.*
  • Optimal Electrolyte: drink 1-3 servings during the day to support healthy hydration.* Hydration is a must for healthy detoxification and healthy immune function.
  • ProBiota HistaminX: take 1 capsule after dinner to support overall healthy immune function as a significant of immunity comes from the GALT (gut associated lymphatic tissue).*
  • Fish Oil: 1 capsule after dinner to support healthy cell membranes and brain.*

This is a comprehensive supportive plan that you can adjust daily depending how you are feeling.

You may find you want to take some of the supplements one day and another not needed. Listen to that.

I find that I do well with Fish Oil a few nights a week, Optimal Man a few times a week and Glutathione Plus daily a couple times a day along with the Optimal Electrolyte a couple to three times a day.

Hello, I am attempting to treat MCAS caused by or at least aggravated by SIBO. I have been told to take Zinc 50mg, Vitamin A 700mg, vitamin D 3,000-5,000IU, glutamine 10g, partially hydrolyzed guar gum 2-3g, and Butyrate 1-2g to help heal my gut. I was hoping to be able to get a combo of a few of these things to reduce cost but did not know if this would be a good option. I am not supposed to take gums outside of the PHGG and was concerned that the acacia g might be an issue? Is there a better option? Is there any other recommendations you have for resolving SIBO? I am doing low FODMAP and low histamine diets and taking Berberine and Allicin and once I get my histamine level down was considering taking digestive enzymes, ox bile, pancreatic enzymes ECT... Am I missing anything? Thanks so much!

I would start not by doing what you have been suggested above. I would first start by supporting your gallbladder and bile production and flow.

SIBO is associated with overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine. Bile is a natural anti-microbial - and it is delivered out of your liver, into your gallbladder and into your small intestine - making an inhospitable environment to bacteria.

Consider taking 2 capsules of Gallbladder Nutrients before dinner. Do for a day or two.

After dinner, take a capsule of Saccharomyces Boulardii. This has supportive research to support a healthy microbiome in those with SIBO.*

Then add in Ox Bile before bed on an empty stomach. This supports a healthy amount of bacteria in your small intestine.* You can add in the Berberine and Allicin at this time, too. BUT - I would start with just one - not all three. You do not want to have such a strong die off reaction.

Die-off reactions cause cloudy heads which is why it's best to take these at night before bed.

In the morning, you'll have a foggy head.

Then, in the morning, use 1/2 lozenge of Glutathione Plus lozenge upon waking to support a healthy clear head.*

Start here.

Then, once you're feeling better, then add in those other things like Immune Intensive, Gut Nutrients Powder and ProBiota HistaminX.

I would use the Digestive Enzymes during meals to support a healthy digestion of a variety of things like carbs, plants, fiber, protein, fat.*

Hello! My 13 year old daughter is allergic to and has anaphylactic reactions to all tree nuts and legumes. I 100% understand, and am not asking this, that it would not be possible to "get rid of" these allergies but I am wondering if it makes sense to build up her immune system to build up some tolerance when and if she has accidental exposure. In talking with her traditional allergist part of the frustration with these kinds of allergies is that the reactions are kind of unpredictable. She can have a bite of something that contains soy bean oil one day (by accident) with no symptoms but another day eating the exact same thing can produce the need to use her epi pen. The allergist said so much depends on the amount sleep she gets, if she has a cold, if there are stressors in her life etc. that logically to me it seems like building up her immunity would make sense. Does this seem like a good line of thinking? Would Immune Intensive be something you may suggest for something like this?

I like your thinking.

The best approach first would be to get the Histamine Bundle.
https://www.seekinghealth.com/collections/histamine-intolerance-supplements/products/histamine-bundle

It comes with a very informative Workbook on Histamine.

The four different and supportive healthy histamine supplements are broad-spectrum in their actions and compliment each other.

Given her history and the seriousness of incidental exposures, we need to effectively support her healthy histamine levels thoroughly.

I would do the following to start right away - as you are working through and reading the Histamine Workbook:

ProBiota HistaminX: take 1 capsule after dinner

Histamine Digest: take 1 with meals - especially if these meals have potential to aggravate her accidentally. Restaurants, food to go, parties, school lunches, etc. This supports healthy histamine levels in her gut.*

Histamine Nutrients: take 1-2 capsules before bed. She likely has difficulty falling asleep as well. This supports healthy onset of sleep while also supporting overall healthy histamine levels in her whole body.*

HistaminX: take 1 capsule anytime of day or night as this supports healthy stabilization of histamine within cells.*

I do like your thinking about Immune Intensive. However, this is a very strong formulation designed to be used when her immune system really needs healthy immune support.* And perhaps it does. You may buy it, have it on hand so you're ready if and when she does need additional immune support.

If she is experiencing a lot of emotional stressors for a variety of reasons, she may do well with Stress Nutrients. She would take 1-3 capsules in the morning before school. This takes the edge off and gives her a healthy response to stress.*

Look for mold in your home, cars and her school. Mold is a big issue.

I'd also consider having her go on a gluten-free and cow dairy-free diet for 2 weeks. The whole family can do it to support her. These two food categories are major in how much inflammation they trigger in people. I've been gluten-free and cow dairy for nearly 30 years. Game changer.
