If the medium-chain triglycerides are derived from coconut, why does the bottle say "free of treenuts"?Updated 4 months ago
The medium-chain triglyceride oil is derived from a highly refined coconut oil. Oils that are "highly refined" are not considered allergenic by the FDA. This is because the coconut (or other allergenic substance) is so highly refined, there are no allergens or proteins remaining in the medium-chain triglyceride oil. If the bottle is labeled "free of treenuts", the products have been tested and confirmed free of treenut allergens and proteins.
The same goes for "coconut oil powder": if you see this on your bottle, it is also a highly refined oil, and contains no coconut allergens.
