How hot is too hot for liquids, capsules, lozenges, chewables and powders when shipping?Updated 4 months ago

Generally speaking, shipping temperatures should not be an issue for capsules, lozenges, chewables and powders.

Studies on products in Seeking Health's ProBiota line show that they are able to withstand temperatures of 104 degrees F for up to 6 days without losing label claim strength. Long-term testing with probiotics similar to Seeking Health’s has also been performed over a two-year period while stored at 39, 73, and 86 degrees F. At 73 degrees the probiotics began to have a small loss of colony counts after one to two months depending on the strain. However, we still recommend refrigerating your probiotics to ensure maximum strength and shelf life.

Oil based products, such as Optimal Fish Oil, Vitamin D3 +K2 drops, and all of our liposomes, may oxidize and become rancid when exposed to high temperatures for an extended period. Unopened, liposomes typically retain label claim at temperatures up to 104 degrees F for up to 6 days. To maximize their strength and purity, we recommend that you refrigerate liposomes after opening, and use within 40 days. Other oil based products need not be refrigerated, but we do strongly recommend storing them in a cool, dark place.
