HistaminX Dr. Lynch product Q&AUpdated 7 hours ago
Question | Answer |
Thank you for answering so quickly!! Just a quick follow up - we did just have mold remediation done in our house. No black mold, but still several other forms in our air ducts and in our crawl space. The mold is gone now but he still has congestion issues. He wakes up very stuffy and groggy every morning. I do have the glutathione tablets already that we use occasionally, as well as a zeolite spray that we have tried but not used consistently. | Hi Collins - You're welcome. Good to hear. I'd get him his own air purifier as well in his room. I like Alen Air. Few other suggestions:
The supplements I suggested for him are still on point. I'm not a fan of zeolite - I think it's a scam personally. FYI - get a natural low allergen pillow - not foam. In health, |
Hi! I bought this and have a question regarding its use in both myself and my 8 year old son. I have slow COMT and slow MAOA, and I just read that quercetin can further inhibit both MAOA and COMT. My son also has a slow MAOA but heterozygous COMT. I took the histaminx for the first time last night, and can tell I feel a little overstimulated so I took a lithium orotate this morning. I really took the histaminx last night to test what it would do before giving it to my son, who struggles more than I do with what seems like high levels of histamine. He has trouble with nasal congestion, especially at night, itchy eyes, sneezing, anxiety (diagnosed), brain fog. He has been tested for allergies however and the test came back negative for everything so we were baffled. Is it possible to have histamine issues but test negative for allergies on the skin prick test? His DAO and HNMT genes are normal. I bought the Histaminx mainly for him to see if it would help his symptoms but am worried to try it now since he also has a slow MAOA and I don't want it to make his anxiety worse. Wondering what your thoughts are. He also has a homozygous PEMT gene and heterozygous MTHFR genes, so I give him a very small amount of a liquid phosphatidylcholine supplement a few times a week and one tablet of your multivitamin every day. Possibility he is autistic as well, I am diagnosed and he has some mild sensory issues, rigidity, differences in social awareness. | Hi Collins - Smart to test it on yourself first. Quercetin can 'slow' the activity of COMT yes - not inhibit it. I am not sure the dosage required to further slow a slowed COMT but in sensitive individuals, I could see it not taking that much - especially if already high dopamine, high estrogen and high histamine. Have my team refund you on the HistaminX. Check for mold and dust mites and scour his room and bathroom for triggers. You may want to bring in an environmental expert to test. In the evening, cortisol levels do naturally decline which may be contributing to his worsening symptoms as well at night - but I'd also like to see his room checked. You can do a urinary mycotoxin test to see if he is exposed. For the multivitamin, make sure he is using the Kids Multivitamin MF version. I think he will do better on this one - and use less of it. Consider:
Start there. He may do well with Kids Optimal Focus: 1/2 a chewable to start. Read this fully before purchasing to see if it aligns well with him: He may do well with the Lithium Orotate as well - and I'd open the capsule and mix 1/2 in a bite of applesauce. Use as needed when you see you need to support a healthy response to stressors he is experiencing.* The Kids Optimal Focus may help with this, too, as the other supplements - which is why I put this at the bottom. If you're wanting to consult with an expert, please reach out to elizmalambert.com - she's great. In health, |
Hi there, I recently purchased your product ProBiota HistaminX and I’m really happy with it so far. While reading more about probiotics and histamine, I came across several studies suggesting that Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus may be beneficial for histamine balance. I noticed it isn’t included in your formula, and I was wondering if there are any drawbacks to using this strain or if there’s another reason why it wasn’t selected for the product. Thanks so much for your time and for creating such a thoughtful supplement! Best regards, Ori Nave | Hi Ori - Glad it's helping you :) I've read the same thing. I do really like that probiotic and I think I'll bring it in and offer it separately. Reason why I haven't added it to ProBiota HistaminX is because I don't want to mess with something that is working so well for so many people. I'd definitely give it a go and see how it supports you. I've done some digging on the best time to take probiotics and it is in the morning upon waking - away from food. FYI :) In health, |
When is the best time of day to take this and why? Can I take it first thing in the morning before food? Thanks | Hi Em - it is best to take away from food. You can take it any time of day or night that you need - and some people take it a few times a day when things are really needing healthy support.* The function of this supplement is to support healthy stabilization of mast cells so they don't release as much histamine.* So - taking it any time and a couple times a day can be supportive for healthy mast cell stabilization.* Histamine Nutrients is another supplement for healthy histamine levels but it does it differently. This supplement supports the healthy break down of histamine that got released from mast cells. The combination of Histamine Nutrients especially taken before bed and HistaminX taking in the morning upon waking is a powerful duo. In health, |
Can the HistaminX capsules be opened and added to a small amount of water or juice? | Hi Martha - I recommend opening the capsule and mixing in a single bite of foods like organic applesauce if needed. In health, |
What is the HistaminX dosage for children age 7? | Hi Martha - I'd consider 1 capsule any time of day and may need another capsule later on in the day as well. Additionally, to further support healthy histamine levels, consider:*

My dietician recommended histaminX as I have issues with high histamine food as possible MCAS. I have gastro issues with a lot of foods. Would histaminX help me, how would I take it. Is it gluten, wheat, dairy and soya free? Thanks | Hi Em - I believe Histamine Digest would be better suited for you as it is more directly digesting histamine from food and drink and the microbiome. You would take 1 capsule with each meal. It is gluten, wheat, soy and dairy free. Additionally, I would add in ProBiota HistaminX and take 1 capsule upon waking to support a healthy microbiome that is lower histamine.* In health, |
I have recently had my genetic testing done and it shows that I may suffer from histamine intolerance. It makes sense since I have always suffered from sinus congestion and random red splotches that show up on my skin. Do you have a protocol suggestion to help? I also looked at the Histamine Nutrient and the B vitamins it contains are also ones that tests show I am low in. | Hi Meg - That's awesome - I'm happy you are digging into this more deeply. I recommend going for the Histamine Bundle as it also comes with an extremely handy Histamine Workbook and a 20% discount on all four of our effective histamine supportive supplements. Read this document to understand how best to use them: New research actually shows best time to take probiotics is upon waking before food. I need to update that on the document. You may also benefit from adding in Bile Nutrients - 2 to 4 capsules before dinner - as that really helps support healthy digestion - and this could be an underlying factor for high histamine. This is especially the case if you feel worse from eating a large meal, a meal higher in fat, tend towards constipation, stool floats vs sinks or just feel heavy and not hungry in the morning as well. I have a question regarding my 10-year-old son. He has allergic reactions and is currently using a steroid inhaler Qvar daily as part of his treatment. One of his known allergens is grass, and he plays a lot of sports outdoors. I’m considering a supplement for him and wanted to know—would this supplement be beneficial for a child with his medical background? Thank you | Hi Matthew - Yes, HistaminX would support a healthy histamine response.* For your son, consider:

I know you’re a human healthcare provider, but my (still young) dog was just diagnosed with a malignant mast cell tumor. Being that it means a histamine overload, a lot of the natural treatments I see included things like nettle, quercetin, bromelaine. Any thoughts/insight on this products ability to help? Vet said, “let him enjoy his days until he goes” & suggested daily Benadryl. I’m thinking this could have more benefit. | Hi Amy - Sorry to hear this about your pup. A mast cell tumor may be producing more histamine than HistaminX can handle. Your pup may do better with Benadryl. I'd also consider:

My labs showed high histamine:DAO levels but I don’t particularly have histamine symptoms in response to food. My allergies are worst at night and in the morning. My practitioner thinks it may be related to mold illness. Which of the histamine products is best suited? | Hi Zoey - I think your doctor may be right. Consider:
This not only supports healthy histamine levels but works on helping identify and remove potential causes of why you have high histamine. In health, |
I am homozygous c677t and have always dealt with eczema, fatigue and brain fog. I am 48 now, but when i was younger I had 2 stillborn babies. Thats why they tested me for mthfr. I do have 3 living kids too. My big issue is this eczema has been on my eyelids for 10 years now. I have red swollen eyes upon waking and deal with red runny eyes daily. I do take the l-methylfolate already, but wondering if one of your histamine supplements may help me. You have a few to choose from and I just need some guidance as to what I should try first. Thank you so much! | Eczema is associated with gut health. Let's focus on healthy digestion and healthy bowel movements which then will support healthy skin.* Consider:
You should notice some improvements within a day for your healthy energy and healthy cognition.* Skin takes a bit longer say a week. In health, |
Earlier this year my 16yo son started getting itchy/burning rashes when working. out. They happen when wearing clothing, or when shirt off, and start around underarms and spread across chest/torso. This reaction only happens when working out and playing basketball but not when playing baseball (which could be 4+ hours at a time in cold or heat). He does have mild environmental and pet allergies as well. He is begging me for relief but I refuse to utilize the Dr's recommended steroids. About 1 month ago he started taking Skin Nutrients with breakfast and ProBiota HistaminX after dinner, for moderate acne. What would you recommend adding to support this response? If needing to take something prior to his early morning workouts it would have to be okay without food. THANK YOU! | What you're son is experiencing is a high histamine response from working out likely due to high homocysteine caused by the increased metabolism. The more intense he works out, the more intense his symptoms are most likely. Baseball is pretty easy compared to basketball or lifting weights. Here's what I recommend you consider and we're addressing the underlying biochemistry vs shutting up the histamine response:
This combination will be an absolute game changer for him. Keep me posted. In health, |
Follow Up Question - After making the previous post I trawled your posts and saw info on sniffing the ProBiota HistaminX. I ordered that and have been putting some inside their nostrils with a Q-Tip. I also gave them one cap orally tonight too. I’ve also added in NAC as well as Interzyme Forte (Biotics) on an empty stomach for inflammation control while I wait for your products to arrive. I will speak to their ENT re the probiotic nasal wash. Would you recommend adding ProBiota HistaminX as the probiotic? You recommended Glutathione over NAC. Any reason why going for a mucus thinning approach with NAC wouldn’t be better? I am curious why you recommend Histamine Digest vs HistaminX? Thank you so much for your help. I've been a long time customer and love your supplements as well as genuine concern for your customers. Thank you so very much! | I would recommend talking with your ENT about using ProBiota HistaminX, yes. Both glutathione and NAC are great. I choose glutathione as it's lower potency and also works as a mucolytic similar to NAC. You may use one or the other, experiment with both and possibly use both or alternate them daily. I chose Histamine Digest as I suspect much of the symptoms may be coming from the histamine found in the digestive system. HistaminX works by supporting healthy cell membranes which keeps histamine more inside the cell. Histamine Digest actually supports healthy digestion of histamine within the digestive system which then makes for healthy histamine levels throughout the entire body.* Thank you for your support! Happy to help. In health, |
Thank you, Dr Lynch for your reply on my college daughter's allergy question to an artificial Christmas tree in her dorm. I will get the supplements ordered that you had recommended. For the HistaminX supplement does she take that daily for a week, month, forever? Just checking so, I make sure to purchase enough of the quantity needed when ordering. Thanks, Jamie Kahon DC | She takes the HistaminX as long as she needs to and then she can stop it - and then resume when she needs it again. I find that one typically starts and uses a supplement for a period of time. Then, as they improve, they can use it less and then ideally can stop it. Then, when something flares them up again, they can restart the supplement. In health, |
Thoughts on enlarged nasal turbinates in 5 yo child; leading to mouth breathing at night and sleep disturbance. I am currently doing all the things. Saline nasal rinsing, various nasal sprays (just started flonase last night in desperation), removed dairy, humidifier, homeopathic work, weekly chiropractic adjustments, energetic work. House checked for mold. GI-Resolve for gut support. Nothing is shifting this. Thinking of a histamine supplement and don't know which one. | I love the digging for causes. Awesome. Consider:
Keep me posted. This should help a lot. In health, |
Hi, been recently diagnosed with MCAS among other, (pots/cfs) and had two bad flares recently. I started taking HistaminX daily and antihistamines H1 2x daily. Wondering what I can take while in active flare to calm down histamine response? This last one I experienced some throat swelling which was alarming. Can I take HistaminX again to support or something else? | That is scary. I'd talk with your doctor to see what you may be reacting to and possibly get an epi pen or at least have Benadryl on hand. Consider:
Since I suggested all four histamine supportive supplements, I'd get the Histamine Bundle as it will save you 20% on the 4. This is a solid plan to support a healthy histamine response while also supporting healthy blood pressure and muscles.* In health, |
Hello Dr Lynch! I remember you awhile back talking about allergic reactions. I have an otherwise healthy 19 yr old daughter college track runner who was opening a fake Christmas tree box and broke out in hives over a 1/3 of her body. She has never had this before nor is she on any Rx's. As I am heterozygous for C677T, she is on folate, omega 3's, probiotics, calcium apatite, magnesium etc. I believe that you had recommended HistaminX and something else in the past but can't remember what it was. Do you have any suggestions for what she should take should the hives happen again? Jamie Kahon DC | Sorry to hear this happened. Fake Christmas trees are covered in chemicals - like fire retardants. We need to support her detoxification system which is overwhelmed. It's more than an allergic reaction - it's more a chemical reaction. Report the incident to the manufacturer - and also to Amazon or whoever sold it. This tree needs to be pulled from the market. Consider:

Are there any medications that HistaminX shouldn't be taken with? Is it ok to take in addition to Claritin? Thanks a bunch! | It is ok to combine, yes. Consider:
This combination is very powerful to support healthy histamine levels.* You should feel the effects right away. In health, |
Hi! My son was taking histamine x for allergies but do you think it could help with acne? Since stopping his acne has gotten bad. I want to avoid accutane I am working on repairing his gut microbiome etc as well as addressing diet, sleep and stress management Is it ok to take histamine X long term? What else should he take to clear his skin long term, repair his gut he gets acid reflux and anxiety , I am sure he has MTFHR mutation since I do. He is 17 and committed to play lacrosse in college I want to get this boy healthy, happy and confident to transition to being independent and thriving away from home. | Great observation. Yes, absolutely. High histamine is associated with acne. Consider:
That is a thorough list of things. Use what he thinks he will use consistently. The top three:

Hi, I am looking for a histamine product to help with seasonal allergies in young kids who aren't able to swallow capsules. Thank you! | I recommend opening a capsule of HistaminX and mix it in a bite of organic applesauce. You can also open a capsule of ProBiota HistaminX and add it to the same bite of food. In health, |
I have histamine issues. Allergic to pets, seasonal, etc. I have microscopic colitis, and now urticaria vasculitis. I have tons of issues with proteins due to colitis. My safe foods are slim. I don’t do well with probiotics, cruciferous veggies, anything like that. I don’t like to take too many supplements. I take turmeric, magnesium, vit D3/K, digetseive enzymes, & iodine only. Any suggestions for me? Thanks, Linda | I highly recommend you consider:
If you don't want to use Gut Nutrients, then use Zinc Carnosine and take 1 capsule with breakfast and 1 capsule after dinner to support a healthy gut lining. I do think the Gut Nutrients capsules are a better option for you situation. In health, |
Is there a specific component of this product that makes it contraindicated for pregnancy? If so, which one(s)? Thanks!! | Yes - the herbs. There's not enough evidence in some of them. The Histamine Digest, Histamine Nutrients, ProBiota HistaminX are all safe for pregnancy. In health, |
Hello! Is this the best thing to take if highly allergic to ragweed? In the Cincinnati area and it’s horrible this time of year. Thank you! | Definitely a good supplement to take for ragweed allergies. Histamine Nutrients may be another option in addition to HistaminX as they will complement each other well. Reactions to ragweed would indicate that you may not be breaking down histamine that well in the bloodstream which could mean that you need more methylation support. Regards, |
Hello, I have severe allergies, mostly showing up as hives, stuffy nose, nasal drip, and shortness of breath (asthma as well.) I am on a constant antihistamine and rescue inhaler, but still have breakthrough symptoms. I would love to try the natural route before resorting to prescription antihistamines and daily corticosteroid inhalers (would like to avoid these if possible.) Would HistaminX be helpful? Should I try this in conjunction with other supplements? Thank you. | I highly recommend the Histamine Bundle in your situation. This provides a comprehensive approach and it also comes with a very thorough Histamine Workbook. The Workbook literally will help you identify possible causes of your high histamine (beyond what you think) so you can remove them one by one and feel better. The product page outlines the function of each supplement along with how to take it and when. In health, |
I am interested in a Histamine product to help how red I get during a workout. I was going to purchase the Histamine nutrients but I am vegan so I am unable to take that product. Can this product help with that? | I recommend the Pre-Workout Nutrients to support healthy blood flow and a healthy histamine response.* This is vegan. Mix 1/2 to 1 serving of Pre-Workout Nutrients 30 minutes prior to working out. While working out, I also recommend mixing 2 servings of Optimal Electrolyte in a water bottle and sipping throughout your workout. High histamine during a workout is associated with high homocysteine and low nitric oxide. By doing the above, you will be supporting healthy homocysteine and healthy nitric oxide levels and thus, should no longer experience redness.* In health, |
I am recovering from upper respiratory virus and have terrible thick post nasal drip causing coughing. I am taking histaminx. How much is too much in one 24hh period? Thanks Yvonne | HistaminX is a safe supplement and use as needed. Additionally, consider during this time period:

Hi, hope this finds you well. I have just ordered recently the histamine bundle after reading the dirty jeans book. I have just tried taking the HistaminX twice so far in the morning & im very itchy afterward for about 20 minutes then it goes away. I’m wondering if this is not a good sign or if it’s okay? I haven’t tried rest of the supplements yet. I’m also currently slowly weaning off a heart medication Coralan which was for the POTS. For some background, I developed a histamine intolerance/(possibly MCAS) & POTS 3 years ago after a perfect storm of events, namely a severe viral/bacterial infection, an allergic reaction to antibiotics & then had to take steroids. Combined with being on a strong hard on the liver medication at the time for over active thyroid. I have been on a very clean diet & healthy lifestyle since & POTS is mostly gone but still struggling with histamine symptoms. Itchy & stinging most evenings, highly sensitive to a lot of foods & supplements, sometimes on a bad week even react to foods that are low histamine. Histamine reactions can be intense anxiety, skin itchy & stinging, brain fog, tinnitus, chronic pain, vertigo, losing balance, low mood. Symptoms are worst after period so I suspect a link to estrogen. ( GI tests have shown not much good or bad bacteria in GI & I’ve had inattentive ADHD since a kid). Thanks so much. | I have not heard of people being itchy from HistaminX yet. At times, people can be itchy from taking Histamine Nutrients but that's more of a warm tingling sensation which has to do with the niacin flush. Not all feel this but some do and it's way less if taken with food. I'm wondering if you're experiencing a response from stinging nettle which is not ideal. I'd try the Histamine Nutrients next and pause the HistaminX for now. For POTS, I'd consider supporting with:
High estrogen and low progesterone can definitely increase histamine issues. Consider a progesterone cream - Amazon provides many of them. My wife uses one from her doctor and has experienced positive results. In health, |
In December I moved from CO to FL. I went from never having histamine issues to chronically having them. I have tried all of Seeking Healths histamine supplements and while I feel relief from the histamine reactions, I have chronic constipation from taking them. I have tried calcium D-Glucarate and it's not helping. I am now reacting from high histamine foods with tingling in my face/arms, as well as severe red and itchy eyes. My ND has me only on supplements that will help get my bowels working...magnesium chelate, motilpro, zinc, gallbladder nutrients and niacin as well as on a low histamine diet. My question is, why would these histamine supplements help me with my histamine symptoms but create constipation? How can I solve this problem so I can take the histamine supplements and not have constipation? The tingling/itchy skin is driving me crazy! Thank you for information to help me sort this out!! | Mold. You're no doubt reacting to mold in the air, ground, house, walls, etc Histamine is needed for healthy bowel movements so it is a fine balance. Consider:

Hi Hope this msg find yous well, I have sun allergies since I was a kid. But it developed further into hives and rashes in my mid 20s while I was on vacation and since I get welts and hives and rashes if I’m exposed to the sun more than 30 min. Would the HistamineX help with the reaction? I’ve asked this questions a few times on IG with no response and I’d like to have a direction or recommendation If this supplement would help bc I don’t like taking Benadryl after every sun exposure and I like the sun! ☺️ thank you. | Here's some thoughts to consider:

Are there any drug interactions to be concerned about? I know the typical response would be to consult with a doctor but they aren't usually too keen on natural supplements & instead push pharmaceuticals on their patients. Any advice you can give is appreciated. | Great question. Nope. This is a safe one. In health, |
Is the broccoli extract similar to DIM or does it provide the same benefits? Or does it provide a different function? | In this case, the broccoli extract is more having to do with glutathione support than estrogen support. Healthy glutathione levels during high histamine is very supportive of healthy histamine levels.* In health, |
Is this safe for a 5 year old, 50 lbs? I hate to just throw supplements at him, but also don't want to give him an antihistamine every day. | Yes it is. I would give him 1 capsule of HistaminX in the morning. I'd also give him 1 capsule of ProBiota HistaminX after dinner. You can open the capsule and sprinkle it on a bite of food if needed. In the morning upon waking, consider giving him 1/4 to 1/2 a lozenge of Glutathione Plus Lozenge. Low glutathione is associated with high histamine. I'd get an air filter in his room as well. Look at what foods you think he may be eating excessively that may be contributing to high histamine. Typically dairy, wheat and orange juice or citrus juices are the culprit. In health, |
Hello, I purchased the Optimal GI as suggested by Dr. Lynch in the email to me on May 29. I started with 1 capsule away from food in the morning. After the first day, my bowels were much slower and no urge. After the 2nd day, there was no urge and almost no bowel movement. I did not take it on the 3rd day and my bowel movements were almost back to normal on the 4th day. It did not seem to affect my sleep which normally happens if something stimulates my mast cells or histamine. I also want to mention that I got a fever blister. So now I have 3 supplements that I have not been able to take. Optimal GI, HistaminX, and ProBiota HistaminX. Would you please provide guidance on how I should try to take the supplements? If not, I will need to return the Optimal GI. Thank you, Mallie | Are you making sure you are drinking and staying hydrated throughout the day? Have you supported your gallbladder and do you suspect you need to? Experiencing constipation from 1 capsule tells me that your gallbladder is likely sluggish along with your digestive enzymes and stomach acid levels may be too low. You may need to work with a health care professional directly. I am not getting sufficient information apparently to give you effective recommendations. In health, |
I have been using Seeking Healths various histamine supplements to lower high histamine. I have been taking Histaminx for itchy eyes and seasonal allergy symptoms but today when I took it within 10 minutes or so my face and extremities were very tingly and warm. My face was mildly itchy as well. Any idea why I reacted this way and should I avoid this product? Thank you! | I am wondering if you meant to ask the question about Histamine Nutrients? The symptoms you are talking about sound like a niacin flush. If you take products that have niacin with food, then the flushing is greatly reduced or doesn't occur. If you took HistaminX and you experienced this, then that's likely a reaction to one of the ingredients - but you have used it before with success so I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or not. To support healthy histamine levels, I highly recommend you consider Gallbladder Nutrients. Take 2 capsules before bed to support healthy bile production and bile flow.* This is key for a healthy microbiome and histamine levels are usually high coming from the gut. Then, after dinner, consider taking 1 capsule of ProBiota HistaminX. In health, |
I noticed this has Luteolin, Is it safe to take if I have a slow COMT? | Yes. Flavonoids like this are fine for those with a Slow COMT. There is too much misinformation about these compounds slowing COMT. While it is indeed true that catechols have the potential to slow COMT, it takes a lot to do it. A Slow COMT is greatly supported by Stress Nutrients which supports a healthy stress response.* Consider taking 3 capsules in the morning. In health, |
I would like to know if it is okay to take HistaminX with food. It seems to upset my stomach and cause loose bowels when I take it by itself, even at 1 capsule per day. Or perhaps you have other suggestions on how I might take it. | You may take it with food, yes. The bromelain won't work as well. I am thinking you may benefit from either ProBiota HistaminX and/or Optimal GI capsules. I suspect your digestive system is quite sensitive and needs some support. In health, |
Dear colleague Dr. Lynch, i am a colleague from germany and we recommend products to our patients in our practice store via the wholesale program seeking health. I have very good experience with HistaminX as a mast cell stabilizer for histamine elevations and I am very satisfied with it. But many patients ask me why stinging nettle is included in the formula. They have read that stinging nettle leads to histamine release and that stinging nettle should not be used for histamine intolerance and they are afraid to take it. Can you please explain to me exactly how stinging nettle works in this product and why it is includet? kind regards, Cornelia | Stinging nettle is often used in histamine supportive formulations. When one gets stung by stinging nettle, yes, you get a histamine reaction. When you ingest the herbal extract, you are supporting healthy histamine levels. A quick scan of research demonstrates that urtica diocia 'inactivates and inhibits the H1 receptors'. Here's another: The reviews and effectiveness of HistaminX, as you know, are quite solid. The amount of incorrect information on the internet is a difficult battle we always have to balance. I appreciate you reaching out. In health, |
I was at the meeting at UW a while ago when Dr. Ben Lynch came to speak at the UW Food Club. I brought up a question about my seasonal allergies to what I assume is pollen, and he suggested I try the HistamineX. I tried a whole bottle of this and although it helped a bit for a short period of time, I was still sneezing super often and could not breathe properly through my nose. I also get stung by mosquitos super often compared to others and they always swell. believe I have what is referred to as “Skeeter Syndrome”, some kind of allergic reaction to mosquitos too. Could aggressive seasonal allergies and a mosquito allergy point to a gene mutation? Is there something else I could try that could help me more than the HistamineX based off this info? Thank you very much in advance. I look forward to hearing back. | The most comprehensive histamine support we have is Histamine Nutrients. I'd take this any time of day or night when needed. I'd also add in Glutathione Plus Lozenge and take a full lozenge immediately upon waking up in the morning. I'd also add in ProBiota HistaminX. Take one capsule of this after dinner - every night. When the new Optimal Electrolytes come in - in a couple months, I highly recommend drinking a serving or two of that each day. You will know it's the new formulation when you see the new logo and branding on the label. Don't use the current Optimal Electrolyte as it is now unless you use the Optimal Electrolyte Unflavored. I don't want you getting the glycine from the current flavored formulations. The new electrolyte won't have the glycine in it. In health, |
Would this product be good for post nasal drip that is causing vomiting? If not, what do you recommend? | I would consider looking for underlying causes such as mold, pet dander, dust mite allergens, food intolerances, old carpets, old pillows, mildew. For supplementation, Id consider:
I would throw away your pillows and buy new - not foam as they are high in formaldehyde. Look into bamboo. I would rip out carpets and use wood, tile or cork. Then put in a throw rug if wanting some warmth on the ground. An air purifier is recommended as well. I like the Alen Air Purifier: If persists, need to visit your doctor and an allergist. I recommend looking into Sublingual Immunotherapy. In health, |
I this safe while pregnant? | Herbs are always a question and so are systemic based enzymes. I'd say no it's not safe during pregnancy. During breastfeeding, yes. I would use Histamine Nutrients, ProBiota HistaminX and/or Histamine Digest during pregnancy. Histamine Nutrients supports full body healthy histamine break down. This is my top recommendation for you. Take it any time of day or night and may use as needed as well. Next, I'd take 1 capsule of ProBiota HistaminX after dinner. This supports healthy histamine levels in the gut via healthy probiotics. Then, if experiencing intermittent nausea and vomiting of pregnancy, consider Histamine Digest. Take as needed with or without food day or night. In health, |
I have MCAS, so I am interested in this product. Do you recommend this for people who also have a slow COMT? I know I have to be careful with some supplements because of it. Thanks! | Great question. The amount of quercetin in HistaminX is fine for those with a slow COMT. One would need over a gram of quercetin to have any impact. A few other recommendations to support a healthy histamine response:
In health, |
Can this product cause dizziness? | Not that I'm aware of but it's possible. I have not heard of this. Please stop using it and seeing if the dizziness goes away. Low histamine levels - and high histamine - can both contribute to dizziness but more so low histamine especially if your blood pressure is low. If you have low blood pressure, consider taking Adrenal Cortex with breakfast to support healthy cortisol levels and sympathetic response. Use HistaminX only when you are struggling with wanting to support healthy histamine levels. Stop using it when you are feeling fine. In health, |
