| Hi Dr. Lynch, I am 1298C +/+, my B12 and folate levels have always been high (with and without supplementation). B6 levels are normal. Would this indicate that I have some sort of a B2 deficiency? I have tried low/high dosages of regular riboflavin (with co-factors) but it hasn’t really helped. My issues (insomnia, brain fog, tingling, gastroparesis, air hunger) seem related to low B12 but it seems like B12 is not getting into the cells. Would this type of B2 be more effective than regular riboflavin? Thank you. | Hi Robert - High B12 levels may be associated with a few things. Some common ones are:
The intersection of two genes, MTR and MTRR, is where B12 does its magic. These genes make enzymes and these enzymes are highly susceptible to infections, heavy metals, yeast overgrowth, nutrient deficiencies, low glutathione, low folate, low B12 to name a few. I'd like to see you ask your doctor to order Homocysteine. Read this article: In terms of supplementation, I have some suggestions for you to consider:

| Hi Dr. Lynch. I just finished reading, Dirty Genes. I ordered it for my dad and two of my coworkers ordered it today after me telling them about everything I’ve learned from reading it and following your IG and TikTok accounts. I have a homozygous C677T variant. In September 2024 I was diagnosed with stage 1 endometrial and c3 ovarian cancer. I had a hysterectomy and 6 rounds of chemo. 5 months out from chemo and I know it’s my responsibility to clean my genes to keep cancer from coming back. I believe that the 677T variant coupled with years of not supporting my MYHFR gene very well, could have been a driving force in developing cancer. I have struggled with my health all of my life. I am 51, I have type 2 diabetes. Currently, I eat a pretty clean diet not perfect, but I’m improving it all the time. I started having blood sugar problems after a gall stone blocked the duct to my pancreas resulting in pancreatitis and removal of my gall bladder. I am In the process of removing the mercury fillings I have though a biological dentist. My most recent lab work shows very high cortisol levels - I believe I in part from chemo and steroids used in chemo. My inflammation is high. Im trying so hard for create an environment that doesn’t make it possible for cancer to come back In addition to your clean genes protocol would riboflavin be a supplement that would not only support my mthfr variation, but also my blood sugar and removed gall bladder? Based upon the laundry list, I seem to have a dirty NOS3 at a 5 and a dirty GST/GPX and fast COMT - both at a 3. And of course MTHFR at a 5 looking for extra support with supplements. Thank you for your work and the education you provide. Thank you. All my best. Brandi | Hi Brandi - Glad you are on your healing journey - and it sounds like you're doing well. I recommend a few things to consider:

| I have been taking your Riboflavin for a few months and stopped needing a daily nap. For the first time, I have had steady energy throughout the day and didn't feel the necessity to lie down around 2:30PM or 3PM as I always have previously. Side effects however could be excessive and recurring sad thoughts. It also may have affected my sleep but that may be more hormonal. I am a 45 year old woman and I have had problems with waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to fall asleep, a few times a week, for some years now. I'm not sure if it got worse or stayed the same on Riboflavin. Last week I couldn't sleep through the night almost every night. I haven't taken Riboflavin for 3 days to see if my mood improved. It's 3PM now and I feel like I'm being pulled down by a heavy weight. It feels as if I must lay down. I took glutathione and methyl folate this morning. I've had 2 caffeinated beverages so I should hade plenty of energy. My brain feels like it wants to keep working but there is a feeling like something is fighting me to stop working and sleep. I don't want to sleep. This feels very much connected to Riboflavin. I'm homozygous MTHFR 677 and have had energy and focus problems; especially around this time of day, my whole life. I read that you suggest Serotonin nutrients with Riboflavin. I'm worried to start the Riboflavin again because of the sadness. I don't know how related that is to the Riboflavin and if taking it upped the feelings or not. I've kept my mind from thinking the sad thoughts the past few days and the only thing that changed in my routine is that I haven't taken the Riboflavin. What do you suggest? I really liked the steady energy the Riboflavin provided. I don't want to give it up and go back to loosing hours every day in trying to get the blood flow back to my brain by laying down. I don't want to heighten my proclivity to depression. Thank you Dr. Lynch and team! | Hi Somer - I suspect you're clearing your serotonin too fast by using so much riboflavin. Consider:
Checking your hormones would be smart to do as well. Consider the DUTCH Test and have a health professional guide you through the results. Ask them for a referral. You may be low progesterone which definitely affects sleep and energy levels, too. In health, |
| Why is the product formulated with a mix of Riboflavin and R5P while other brands offer either/or? Additionally, the dose seems high compared to competing brands. Would you recommend that an individual with MTHFR and strong sulfur intolerance start with a dose that high? | Hi Yaakov - We use a blend as R5P is very effective and so is a high amount of B2 as they both support many enzymes in the body. I do not recommend supplements simply based on someone having a MTHFR variant. I need symptoms. Having a MTHFR variant itself dictate needing to do anything unless symptoms or labs are presently needing support. I know this is contrary to all other countless 'MTHFR experts' on the internet but they are all wrong. A strong sulfur intolerance should be supported. Consider:

| My stool is brown but has yellow liquid with it. Can riboflsvin cause this? I know it turns urine yellowish. | Hi Josh - I've never heard of riboflavin causing this in stool. Perhaps it's your urine mixing with your stool? In health, |
| Can the Riboflavin pills be opened and poured on a spoonful of applesauce for a person who can't swallow pills? | Hi Linda - Yes they may but it won't taste good. This is a lot of riboflavin. Have another spoonful of applesauce ready to go that's clean. You may want to do it in 2 bites with a clean bite in between. Use organic applesauce as non organic apples are high in pesticides. In health, |
| How much of this is R5P and how much regular riboflavin? | Hi Alice - It is proprietary information but I can tell you it is in there in a healthy amount. The product is predominantly riboflavin as excessive use of R5P is not needed. In health, |
| Hi Dr Lynch, I am considering taking the riboflavin 400mg to reduce my homocysteine level. I have some questions hoping that you can help. I have 2 copies of C677t, and ocd too. My most recent blood work showed my homocysteine is very high which is 14.6 and Riboflavin showed 75 µg/L (200 nmol/L). I would like to know will Riboflavin help to reduce homocysteine. And is riboflavin 400mg too high in strength? I react badly to methylfolate. I am taking your Hydroxo B12 with Folinic Acid and will it be beneficial to take it with Riboflavin together? I have also bought the Optimal liposomal Glutathione and glutathione lozenges. Currently taking the Liposomal glutathione for just over 1 week now. Haven't yet noticed any difference. Thank you for your time. Best regards, Esther | Hi Esther - The best option to support a healthy homocysteine level without using methylfolate is:

| Are there certain genetics or symptom presentations that would warrant more than 400 mg of Riboflavin per day? | Hi Jillian - More than 400 mg a day of riboflavin based on SNPs? No. 400 mg a day is a significant amount. SNPs that do warrant higher amounts of riboflavin are those that reduce the binding ability of riboflavin to the enzyme. These enzymes are very important in the human body. One is especially famous:
Another one that is really important to support is the one the recycles used up and damaged glutathione
Monoamine oxidase (MAOA) is also incredibly important - as it supports the breakdown of dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin, histamine. Many enzymes in the energy cycles use riboflavin. Common signs and symptoms of riboflavin deficiency are:
Support healthy riboflavin levels with Riboflavin supplement - and best to take in the morning with breakfast.* Note: When taking riboflavin, it's common to experience very bright orange/yellow pee. Riboflavin colors the urine this way. In health, |
| Hi Dr Lynch, I react badly to L - methylfolate. I have ocd since childhood, have 2 copies of c677t, struggling with insomnia. I am not on any ssri medication. Should I go with Riboflavin or folic acid for methylation issue? What is the difference between them? Also, from the information I gathered from listening to your sharing on YouTube, I am guessing liposomal glutathione, Serotonin nutrients and Optimal focus would help my condition. Could you please advise if otherwise? Thank you for your time! | Hi Esther - I like how you're thinking. Let's tweak things a little bit. I'd do Histamine Nutrients before bed to support healthy onset of sleep.* If you're staring at the ceiling, it's because you are too stimulated and have too many neurotransmitters in your brain or too much histamine or both. Take 2 capsules of Histamine Nutrients 20 minutes before bed. If you are having difficulties staying asleep but not falling asleep, then consider using Serotonin Nutrients before bed.* If you are struggling with both, then I'd start first with Histamine Nutrients before bed. Then I'd use Serotonin Nutrients with your protein based breakfast. In the morning, upon waking, I'd consider using 1/2 lozenge of Glutathione Plus Lozenges. Keep this on your bedstand. Let's start here and see how you do. In health, |
| I show need for Riboflavin from organic acids test, high glutaric acid and high homovanillic acid. I also have slow MAOA gene variation. How do I know how much Riboflavin I should be taking? 400mg seems like a lot? | Hi Pam - Riboflavin is a much needed ingredient and if low, definitely need some. I'd use a capsule any time of day with a meal. You will take it when you feel you need it. Given that labs demonstrate a need, consider taking 1 capsule daily for a couple weeks. Then you may likely be fine to take 1 capsule as needed - say 1-3 times a week. In health, |
| 200mg Riboflavin 2x/day has been recommended for menstrual migraine support. Concerned SH 400mg 1x/day may be too potent. Do you think it would be possible to split the capsules? Or have any other recommendations to hit 200mg 2x/day? Thanks in advance! (Also, I've seen other brands offer Riboflavin OR Riboflavin 5' Phosphate, not as a combo. Is there a reason for the combo in your version?) Thanks again! | Hi Sam - We mix them because they are better together. Some people need the riboflavin-5-phosphate and they don't know it - so we include it. You'll just pee out the extra. There's no issue taking more than 200 mg at all. The only thing you'll experience is brighter yellow or orange pee and that's the riboflavin. Your body absorbs what it needs and pees out the rest. Menstrual migraines are also associated with the fast drop in estrogen which then drops serotonin. Consider supporting with a capsule of Serotonin Nutrients taken any time of day or night to support prevention and healthy feeling of her head.* Do not take Serotonin Nutrients during an active migraine as it will make it worse. Only take it before to support healthy maintenance of a healthy head.* Taking 1/2 a lozenge of Brain Nutrients in the morning or any time of day is also supportive of a healthy head and blood flow.* You may take this at the first inkling of discomfort to support a comfortable head.* Riboflavin is actually useful to use to support a healthy head after the headache has already started. So if you're late in using Brain Nutrients or Serotonin Nutrients, then you'd use Riboflavin. You can use Brain Nutrients with Serotonin Nutrients together if needed - or just try one or the other - depending on the day. Try them separately at first to see how you feel. Definitely start with just 1/4 to 1/2 lozenge of Brain Nutrients to start - upon waking in the morning - and again any time during the day if needing more - with or without food. Same with Serotonin Nutrients - but a bite of food with this one is recommended. In health, |
I have recently (in the last week) started taking Seeking Health Riboflavin. Without changing anything else in my diet or supplement routine, I have noticed a slight bit of constipation, more fatigue, and vivid dreams. Would this be caused by the Riboflavin and if so, is there something I need to do differently? I have researched online to try to find info on riboflavin but don't see anything that indicates these symptoms. | Hi Jessica - Riboflavin is a vitamin that supports the MAOA enzyme and others. The MAOA enzyme reduces serotonin levels by design. You may have lowered your serotonin levels too much by taking the Riboflavin too consistently. Use the Riboflavin only as needed. I believe if you take 1 capsule of Serotonin Nutrients, all your side effects from the Riboflavin may be supported. Why? Serotonin Nutrients supports healthy serotonin levels. For now, discontinue use of Riboflavin. Use as needed. You may also need a lower potency of Riboflavin. Ours is 400 mg. Possibly our B Complex Plus may be more in line with what you're looking for, or B Minus or our Multivitamin One MF. You would pick ONE of these. You would take with breakfast - consisting of healthy protein. Consider using them only on days where you feel more energy is needed - and skip on days you feel good. In health, |
