Calcium D-Glucarate Dr. Lynch product Q&AUpdated 9 hours ago

It was written that calcium alone without K2 causes heart attacks and calcifications in the arteries. Why doesn't calcium have K2? | Hi Anat - The amount of calcium in each serving is very low - we're talking roughly 20 mg of calcium. Calcium supplements should have vitamin K2. This isn't a calcium supplement - it is a detoxification support supplement. In health, |
Hi Dr. Lynch- I'm getting ready to leave the United States and stocking up on supplements before our flight next week! I was curious to know (based on your previous suggestions) if Calcium D-Glucarate should only be taken (timing wise) along with your DIM product? I've only been taking that until day 15. Molybdenum I started taking a few months ago 150mcg but still get onion smelling armpits from time to time so was thinking of taking yours 500mcg. I eat a lot of animal based protein everyday. I would do the pulse method with that and stop when the smell subsides? I also forgot to mention that I have an absent GSTM1. Thank you so much! MTHFR C677T (+/-) COMT V158M (+/-) and VDR Taq (+/+) CBS C699T (+/-) MTRR A66G (+/+) and MTR A2756G (+/-) CYP1B1 and CYP3A4 SOD2 (+/+) | Hi Jennifer - Calcium D Glucarate may be taken nightly as it is very good at supporting overall healthy detoxification.* DIM+I3C is more specific to supporting healthy estrogens so that should be timed as needed.* I like your idea of increasing the Molybdenum. I'd do that. The Cal-D-Glucarate will also help with healthy detoxification and thus onion smell.* The high amount of animal protein may be contributing to the higher need for detoxification so I'd evaluate how much of that you are eating and perhaps drop it down 20%. Make sure you bring the Glutathione Plus Lozenges on you when you're flying so you can pop one in your mouth when you start smelling the in plane exhaust coming in as it supports healthy detoxification.* I'd also bring a few Optimal Electrolyte Sticks on the plane with you as flying is very dehydrating which contributes to jet lag. Have a great trip! In health, |
Would this be okay to take if my labs reported high blood calcium? | Hi Tina - Yes. This supports healthy detoxification and does not contain that much calcium at all. There is about 50 mg of calcium in one serving which is insignificant. High blood calcium may be caused by taking high doses of Vitamin D without vitamin K2. Make sure you are using Vitamin D3 with K2. In health, |
I did some reading and is this product a methyl product? I need a calcium that is not methyl. Please email me. I am going in circles with this Hashimotos disease. | Hi Tammy - This product is not a methylated product. Most calcium is not methylated and I actually don't know of one that is. This is not to be used as a calcium supplement either as it doesn't provide much calcium specifically. It provides more glutaric acid. In health, |
I recently was diagnosed with some Osteoporosis. I am MTHFR ++ and Comp++. Can you tell me a good calcium supplement that I would not be sensitive to? I have trouble with some magnesiums (I need that too but Oxide and Citrate version seems to cause discomfort) I saw at the store most calciums are a combo of things. Thank you, Tammy | Hi Tammy - This supplement would not be good for osteopenia or osteoporosis. This is mainly targeted to support healthy detoxification in the liver and may actually worsen osteoporosis. Consider:
I'd also look at your estrogen levels as estrogen is very important for bone density. In health, |
I have low estrogen and progesterone and high testosterone. Would this product help? I tried progesterone cream and I could not stop crying. I stopped it and the crying stopped. | I'm glad you found out that the progesterone was causing you grief - literally. You taught me something. I'll keep that in mind. Calcium-D-Glucarate will not help. It will affect your estrogen levels even more negatively. I'm curious how your cortisol levels and adrenals are doing. If you're high mental stress, you're burning up your cholesterol to make cortisol and thus hurting your estrogen and progesterone because of it. Myo-Inositol may help support healthy testosterone levels as it's recommended often for those with PCOS. We don't offer it but you can find it on Amazon. Vital Nutrients has a good one I believe. If you are experiencing high mental stress, consider supporting healthy stress response by using Stress Nutrients with breakfast.* In health, |
Does this just detox bad estrogens or will it lower all estrogen? I am in menopause and so I already have low estrogen but I also need some liver detox help as my cholesterol has been creeping up since post-menopause with an already good diet and exercise lifestyle my whole life. I have a sulfur sensitivity and so many other liver supplements are a no go but I can’t afford to lose what little estrogen my body is still making post-menopause. Thank you for any guidance. | I do not recommend this in your situation. Instead, consider:

Hello, My daughter is 7.5 and looks like she is already budding and I am wondering if excess environmental estrogen is playing a role and if there is a way to slow this down so she doesn’t develop so early. Would any of these healthy estrogen support supplements be helpful for her? Thank you! | It seems that environmental estrogen may play a role in your young daughter's early development. I would suggest DIM + I3C for her at 1 capsule per day. Make sure you reduce any potential xenoestrogen exposure to your daughter that could be coming from plastics, microplastics, or other sources. Microplastics are found in our food and water supply, and in much higher amounts than previously thought. She may also have gut bacterial overgrowth that could be interfering with healthy estrogen metabolism. Stool testing may be something to consider with a healthcare practitioner. Regards, |
Hi Dr Lynch, Unfortunately I can’t find the DIM + I3C product (I just bought somewhere else) on this website. So hopefully you don’t mind me asking here some questions about this product. 1. Can I open the capsule and take it that way? 2. I actually did this two days ago. For some reason it got into my nose and two hours later I was in the ER because of horrible pain, burning and throbbing in my nose, sinus and head. Thankfully I’m fine. But I do would like to know what’s in the pill that caused this. And also if I should worry about long-term consequences. It was a really scary experience. 3. There are black speckles in the capsules. Is this normal? I wouldn’t mind buying another one.. I just want to know if its safe to take. Thank you! | Ouch. That sounds scary. Many supplement ingredients can be very high in sulfur, contain enzymes or be very acidic. Any of those elements could contribute to mucosal burning which would definitely hurt. I suspect you opened the capsule and then rubbed your nose with your fingers which had some of the contents on them. Your mucosal layer will heal and may take a full week but it will heal up. Black specs in a capsule is likely from humidity. The bottle needs to be tightly sealed and stored in a cabinet that is not humid. It is ok to take a supplement with black specs caused by humidity. It's just unsightly. Keep your capsules in a tightly closed bottle with the dessicant. Here is the DIM+I3C as well: In health, |
Who should not take Calcium D-Glucarate? How would I fit in taking Calcium D-Glucarate with other Seeking Health supplements? I have low estrogen, progesterone, DHEA, and high testosterone. My cortisol is normal, but I'm pre-diabetic and struggle with constipation. I'm being treated for mold, Lyme, and hormonal imbalances. I'm taking the following from Seeking Health: Digestive Enzymes, Homocysteine Nutrients (2X weekly), Omega, Vitamin D3, Iron Chewable, Gallbladder Nutrients, Optimal Electrolytes, ProBiota HistaminX, Optimal PC, and Optimal Magnesium. I am 31 F. | I wouldn't add in the Calcium D Glucarate due to the low hormones. Instead, consider:

Hi - I have been taking your CDG and DIM. Twice a day in first half of period and once a day in second half. I had bad PMS due to estrogen dominance which then got better (with CDG, DIM etc). But now I’m fine before my period but have really low and flat moods for the first 3 days of my period. I’m just wondering if perhaps I’ve taken too much DIM and CDG? I’ve also always had dry skin but it’s been noticeably dryer this past month. Not sure if that’s linked and if I should be reducing my DIM and CDG. I’m concerned about stopping completely as I have estrogen dominance typically which caused a big fibroid. Thanks! | You're correct. It's a balancing act. You need sufficient estrogen for a healthy mood - too low and you're low mood and low libido and too high you're irritable and clots to name a few. I'd adjust how much you are taking and the duration and when. Consider shortening the window of when you're taking these supplements and possibly also reducing the amount you're taking. Perhaps do say Day 9 through Day 15 and then stop. If you're experiencing low mood, consider taking 1/2 a Brain Nutrients and 1 capsule of Dopamine Nutrients to support a healthy mood, healthy libido and healthy motivation.* Ideally you can balance how much DIM and Calcium D Glucarate you're taking but it's tricky. Having the Brain Nutrients and Dopamine Nutrients on board will help you in the event you drop too low as they support healthy dopamine levels.* Dry skin is associated with low estrogen - so yes, I think you're supporting your healthy estrogens too much. In health, |
Good afternoon Dr. Lynch, I just received my order for the Calcium D-Glucarate and was wondering if it is safe to take doctor prescribed D2 (ERGO) with it? I haven't take one as of yet, but wasn't sure if they could be combined. Respectfully, Mariza | It’s ok to take together. In health, |
Hi Dr Lynch is this product good for treating man boobs or DIM ? | Man boobs are associated with high estrogen and low testosterone. Consider:

Hi Dr Lynch my symptom is bloating in the hypogastric region, right iliac and left iliac region of the abdomen which causes a great deal of pressure in the bladder and rectum. What supplements could you recommend ? I tried probiotics and it didn’t work from inessa and nutriadvanced. Took some herbal Antimicrobials that didn’t work either. | I'd consider working with a health professional to work on discovering the underlying causes of this. Most often a comprehensive digestive stool test can be very useful. DoctorsData Lab has a good one. In health, |
Is this okay to take if you’re on estrogen patch? | It is yes. Continue monitoring your estrogen. Calcium-D-Glucarate supports the glucoronidation detoxification pathway which is the largest detoxification system in your liver - so it does way more than just supporting healthy estrogen levels. In health, |
Does this type of calcium not cause blood clots? | Calcium D-Glucarate supports healthy detoxification via the Glucoronidation detoxification system in your liver.* Healthy detoxification is needed by us all in this toxic world. I cannot say it does not cause blood clots but I can say it is not associated with blood clotting. If experiencing blood clots, please talk with your doctor about monitoring. Thick blood is an issue with blood clotting and dehydration and high oxidative stress are big risk factors for blood clotting - as is low vitamin D. Consider:

Hi Dr. Ben, I am wondering whether I should take Calcium D-Glucarate or DIM (or maybe both?) I have slow COMT and a slightly slower MTHFR. I suffer from breathing problems (checked by a doctor), lots of mucus in my throat and dizziness, leading to severe anxiety. This happens especially during my period and around ovulation. Additionally I also experience motion sickness and dizziness at heights at all times. I notice that Histamine Nutrients help, but one day it helps more than the other and that my stress levels are high, because I am always afraid that I get trouble breathing. These problems started after taking loads of painkillers during a vacation due to severe back pain. Would you suggest supporting my liver as well? I just started Histaminx probiotics as well. | Great question. Very detailed and helpful for me to give you better suggestions. You nailed it - definitely need to start with your liver. Here's my recommendation:
Mental stress leads to higher histamine levels, higher estrogen levels and various other issues. I highly recommend considering Stress Nutrients to support a healthy response to stress.* Take 3 capsules of Stress Nutrients in the morning to support a healthy calm day.* This is very important during this time to get out of this cycle. In time, say a month, I do believe you can try stopping the Calcium D Glucarate and replacing it with Gallbladder Nutrients. You would take 2 capsules of this before dinner to support healthy bile production and bile flow.* This is important for healthy estrogen levels and overall digestion and well-being. Women over 40 really need gallbladder support - especially when combined with a slow COMT and slow MTHFR and slow MTHFD1 (check this on your StrateGene report). On another note, look into Prolotherapy for your back pain. If you somehow stretched your ligaments in your back, prolotherapy is the only thing that will restore the health of your back. If it's just muscular, look into an Epsom Salt Float Tank session or two or three. Very helpful. In health, |
What could be a reason that taking CDG would create 'bladder pain' ..??.. ie; feels like you have a UTI / bladder infection ☼ CDG is needed to reduce high beta-glucuronidase but it's happened twice ... [not fun]. Cannot find any article explaining the correlation. Ideas ? Suggestions appreciated | First time I've heard this. I am not sure. Perhaps it is moving something out that is very aggravating to your tissues. I'd consider Optimal GI and take 3 capsules before bed and 3 capsules upon waking to support a healthy bladder lining.* In health, |
Hi Dr Lynch in regards to DIM I cannot find this product on your website is it possible for you to create DIM with calcium D Glucarate so a 2 in 1 product ? | I've thought about it - and considering it. Here is DIM: In health, |
I have had chronic constipation my entire life. Unfortunately I was on birth control pills from age 18-40. I am 61 now. I believe the pill destroyed my gut. At age 46 I got breast implants, talk about toxic. Breast implants have more than 40 toxic chemicals and an array of heavy metals, further destroying my gut. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (on 3 grains of NDT daily) and osteoporosis (on 10,000 IU's of D3K2 daily) 2 years later. I'm also on bio-identical hormones but estrogen, progesterone, testosterone levels are low, SHBG high. I my I had my breast implants removed 11 months ago. I recently found out I'm compound heterozygous. My homocysteine level is 7.9, surprisingly. I do not have diabetes, high cholesterol, high CRP or any autoimmune diseases. My triglyceride level is 81, yay! I've tried Stress Nutrients, Gallbladder Nutrients, Ox Bile 125, Molybdenum, Magnesium Plus, Liver Nutrients, Optimal PC, Saccharomyces Boulardii, ProBiota Bifidobacterium, Optimal Glutathione Plus Lozenges, Methly B12 with L-Methylfolate in an attempt to detox and improve constipation but nothing seems to be helping. I purchased Calcium D-Glucarate today in hopes of some relief. I am a little concerned about taking Calcium D-Glucarate due to low estrogen levels, please advise. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! | I'm so happy you had your implants removed - well done! I hear you on the Calcium D Glucarate concern with low estrogen. I, too, find that potentially problematic. I'd stop all the probiotics for now. Increase the Gallbladder Nutrients from what you are currently taking. If take 2 before dinner, take 4 before dinner. Be sure to chew your food very very well. Stop the Magnesium Plus. Switch to Magnesium Glycinate Powder and take a full scoop or so in an ounce or so of filtered warm water before bed. In the morning, upon waking, prepare 1/2 cup of filtered warm water and add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar mixed with juice from a lemon wedge. Sip slowly. Once you feel your stomach 'warm up', stop drinking it. Put the rest in the fridge and use before your next meal or toss it. Make sure when you feel the 'urge' to go to the bathroom, that you listen to that urge. It's incredibly important. Do NOT hold it. Also buy a 'Squatty Potty' Start here. If needing more support, you may need Optimal Focus to support healthy acetylcholine levels OR Serotonin Nutrients to support healthy serotonin levels.* Both of these support healthy bowel movements. Please read the product pages of both Serotonin Nutrients AND Optimal Focus. See which one sounds more like what you need. You'll know after you read the 'Who Needs It' section. If one has low acetylcholine or low serotonin - or both, constipation is going to be an issue. However, let's do the above first - as they are more fundamental. In health, |
Can CDG reduce cholesterol? We started dosing w/ 1 cap for a few months as our son was starting to develop man breasts. We didn't see a change so increased to 2 caps which has helped but when when we checked cholesterol it had drop 33 points so just trying to figure out what caused the drop. | Yes, calcium D glucarate can support healthy cholesterol levels. Why? Supporting a healthy liver supports healthy cholesterol. I'd add DIM+I3C for your son as it directly supports healthy estrogen metabolism. Take 1 with dinner. I'd also consider Optimal Man for him as well as it supports healthy testosterone and men's health. Take 1-2 capsules with breakfast. In health, |
Why is the dosage amount so much lower than all other brands of this supplement. Is this a more bioavailable form? | It's not good to take too much calcium-D-glucarate as it can contribute to loose stools. 250 mg per serving is plenty strong. I am not sure about other brands. I only focus on Seeking Health. We use third-party testing and source quality raw materials. I cannot use more than 1 capsule of this per day. Everyone is different but too strong isn't ideal. In health, |
Which supplement would you recommend for a teen boy that has high lipoprotein A (250), MHTFR with methyl sensitivity, and slow COMT to support detox? I am wondering whether this supplement or your Glutathione Plus lozenges would be a better option. He also struggles with sleep, focus, and depressive mood. | I'd consider 1/2 to 1 lozenge of Brain Nutrients upon waking along with a serving of Optimal Electrolyte. Then, I'd add in 1 capsule of Optimal Man with a protein based breakfast like eggs, meat, fruit and honey. At night before bed, if he struggles with healthy sleep duration, I'd consider Serotonin Nutrients. If he struggles with healthy sleep onset, meaning he stares at the ceiling, I'd consider Histamine Nutrients before bed. Start there. I'd also add in Gallbladder Nutrients - 2 capsules before dinner. I'd do this over Calcium D Glucarate. That said, the Calcium D Glucarate is on sale now and the benefits are quite good. So - take 1 capsule of Calcium D Glucarate with dinner most nights. Then, if he feels he wants to switch it up, stop the Calcium D Glucarate and replace it with the Gallbladder Nutrients. He really should take 1 capsule of ProBiota HistaminX after dinner as well. A healthy microbiome is foundational. In health, |
My Dr has prescribed Alendronate Sodium for a recent diagnosis of Osteoporosis. Are there natural alternatives? My DexaScan numbers were “terrible”, but the noted side effects of this medication sound scary. TIA | Calcium D Glucarate is designed to support healthy detoxification. It is not a calcium supplement for bone health. That said, I highly recommend our Vitamin D3+K2 supplement and take 1-2 capsules daily with a meal any time of day. Then retest in a two months to check your D levels. D3 and K2 are absolutely essential in getting calcium from your blood into your bones. Typically people with bone health issues struggle because of low vitamin D and K2. I also recommend looking into a 'Rebounder' and start doing gentle jumping on it. Watch videos on youtube about rebounding and bone health. In health, |
I would like to order the BEST supplement for calcium support as I was recently diagnosed with pre-osteperosis | Bone health is directly tied to vitamin D and K levels. Consider our Vitamin D3 + K2 capsules. This is a pretty potent combination for supporting healthy vitamin D and K levels. These two nutrients are essential for healthy calcium absorption and utilization into your bone matrix. In health, |
