Side Effects

Side effects for hydroxocobalamin and folinic acid are generally mild and rare. High doses of folinic acid can cause:

  • Abdominal cramping
  • Diarrhea
  • Rash
  • Sleep disorders
  • Irritability
  • Confusion
  • Nausea
  • Stomach upset
  • Behavior changes
  • Skin reactions
  • Seizures
  • Gas
  • Excitability.

If you believe that you are experiencing any adverse reactions, please see your healthcare professional immediately. Each individual may react differently to any product or supplement. We always recommend that you consult with your healthcare professional prior to considering the use of Hydroxo B12 with Folinic Acid or any supplement.

These side-effects are more likely if the recommended dosage is exceeded, if you are taking too high of a dose when first starting,  or if taken on an empty stomach. Always take this product with food and in divided doses throughout the day. Dr. Ben Lynch recommends starting with a small dose and only working your way up if needed.
