Adeno B12 Dr. Lynch product Q&AUpdated 5 days ago

QuestionAnswer
Hello. I have your Multivitamin without the B's & take the Adeno/ Folinic Acid, but was wanting to take my other B's, but don't want to take the B Complex because of the large amount of B6. I don't want B6 toxicity. Is there a product to take to get my B's without so much B6. I'm double MTHFR & slow COMT.

Hi Pam -

I recommend switching over to Prenatal Essentials MF.

This way you're getting all the B vitamins in good amounts, the folinic acid and adenosylcobalamin and not that much B6.

You can take 1 capsule with a protein-based breakfast so that way you're getting 1/2 of what the label amounts are.

I do recommend just 1 capsule for you vs 2.

This way you'll save money and have it a lot easier in the morning ;)

I am a nutritionist and I have a patient with pernicious anemia who ordered the Adeno B-12 3,000mcg lozenge and wants to take it but it doesn’t not appear to be sublingual. Can this be taken as sublingual for the full absorption given her medical diagnosis or would I need to go wi try a different product. Thank you

Hi Julie -

Sublingual is a drug claim.

These are lozenges.

One may allow the lozenge to dissolve fully in the mouth, then swallow.

Many patients do well with our lozenges.

Hi I have MTHFR Compbound,BHMT-08,CBS C699T,MTRR among others. I wonder if you could recomend helpfull products for me. I am 52 years old woman. I have SIBO and candida. I am dizzy and stiff in joints, hair is thinning. Deficient in all B’s and more. Been sick for 2 years now but have been dizzy on and off for decades. I take b12 injections prescribed by my dr. every third week. It feels like my muscle in face, neck, ears can’t relax… I have my genetic reports and blood labs if you want to see it. My 6 kids are the same… I need help! // Nillan

Hi Nillan -

I hear you.

When symptoms are so diverse like this, it's typically a number of environmental exposures that are contributing to them.

  • mold
  • infections
  • chemicals
  • food intolerances

This is especially the case if all 6 kids are experiencing similar health problems.

I highly recommend working with ElizmaLambert.com

In terms of supplements, I don't think adding any is a good idea right now.

What I recommend is getting the Audible version of Dirty Genes and listening to it.

What's needed is identifying causative triggers in your life and removing them one by one.

I am confident you know of some triggers - remove those first and now.

Going gluten-free and cow-dairy free for all of you is a great start.

Thanks for your previous response. Can you help me understand the difference between the Hydroxo and Adeno B12?

Hi Rachel -

Yep.

  • Hydroxocobalamin is a form of vitamin B12 that supports healthy levels of nitric oxide and hydrogen sulfide.* So if those are high, this is a good one to take. People don't usually know if they are high in these or not so symptoms would be sulfur smelling breath, armpits, urine, gas, sore joints, brain fog.

  • Adenosylcobalamin is a form of B12 which supports the metabolism of methylmalonic acid (MMA) so if high MMA, this is supportive of healthy levels.* Symptoms here are low energy, sore muscles, post workout soreness and poor athletic performance.

Hi, I am 54 and have been on HRT for the last 2 years to support my perimenopause journey. I have always been sensitive to B vitamins amping me up and causing anxiety. My functional medicine doc said to search for a non-methylated version as my normal B12 numbers have recently started to dip as did my MCHC. I am also very petite and have a sensitive system and often take children's doses of things. Which B12 of yours would you recommend?

You're not alone. B vitamins are quite powerful.

Consider:

  • Adeno B12: 1/4 lozenge upon waking
  • Histamine Nutrients: if cannot fall asleep, experiencing high histamine symptoms and sensitive to environmental allergens, consider 1 to 2 capsules before bed or any time of day as this supports healthy histamine levels.*

Thanks for your previous response. Can you help me understand the difference between the Hydroxo and Adeno B12?

I’m debating between getting the adeno b12 or the hydroxo b12 with folinic acid. I’m sensitive to methylated vitamins (anxiety/insomnia) but having major energy problems from my digestive issues. My b12 level was 412 last I had blood drawn last year. What would you recommend?

I would not get either of these.

Instead, I'd work on your digestion a bit while supporting healthy energy.

Consider:

  • Brain Nutrients: 1/2 to 1 lozenge in the morning upon waking to support healthy B12 and healthy energy levels.*
  • Optimal Electrolyte: 1/2 to 1 serving in the morning to support healthy energy and likely another midday.*
  • Adrenal Cortex: 1 capsule with breakfast to support healthy energy.*
  • Histamine Digest: 1 capsule with meals to support healthy histamine levels in the gut IF you're eating and drinking things with high histamine as histamine can be an issue for digestion.
  • Digestive Enzymes: 1-2 capsules with meals
  • Gallbladder Nutrients: 2 to 4 capsules before dinner
  • ProBiota HistaminX: 1 capsule after dinner

Hi, if hydroxocobalamin requires a prescription how can it be dispensed through supplements. I was looking to purchase the hydrox b12. I currently have b12 deficiency and was told I needed injections I'm out of town and not able to start them. I also have reservations about the injections so I was instructed to take supplements 2,,500 mcg every day. In the past B complex gave me alot of anxiety so I stopped talking them. I am currently taking methylcobalamin b12. I thought they would be good because I read about absorption issues. I know have more information about the different forms and learning the difference. I am sensitive to methyl.but know I need some of that form. I have to take them at night because they make me very tired. I now have anxiety again. I also have hot flashes and sweating ,headaches, and now today nausea. I am not able to take this form at this level and have tried cutting back. During my research I ran across a post that suggested the hydroxocobalamin. So I am trying to find out how there is a hydroxocobalamin supplement when a prescription is needed and the form of delivery is through injections. Thank you so much

You may purchase the Hydroxo B12 lozenges from us over the counter.

I'd also start with 1/2 a lozenge upon waking in the morning.

Talk with your doctor about checking your estrogen and progesterone levels. I suspect you may have high estrogen and lower progesterone.

If one doesn't need to take B12 daily, how does he know when he needs to take it? What are some of the early signs of deficiency? For a vegan, is 1000 mcg daily too much ?

You want to feel good every day.

So if you wake up feeling tired, brain fog and low mood, then consider taking 1/2 a lozenge of Adeno B12 at that moment as healthy B12 levels support healthy energy, healthy mood and healthy clarity.*

You may also benefit from taking Glutathione Plus Lozenges in the morning upon rising. Consider 1/2 a lozenge on the days you feel like that as well - skip on days you feel good.

I'd also consider Optimal Electrolyte. Sip 1 serving a day or take it when you are exercising.

Greatly appreciate this informative answer. Two follow up questions please. (1) could I save the leftover half lozenge if I could put it in the refrigerator? It seems such a waste to throw it away. (2) you said this supplement is not meant to be taken everyday. Is it because of its 3000 mcg size or B12 in general at any dose should not be taken everyday?

I recommend doing what my wife does. She takes a new bottle, dumps out all the lozenges and cuts them in half on a very dry cutting board using a very dry knife and very dry hands. Then she puts them all back.

That way you're set to go ;)

Vitamin B12 is stored in your gallbladder via bile reabsorption. So it's not needed to take daily after you restore your B12 stores.

Is the 3000 mcg dose for regular supplementation or for someone who has severe deficiency? What is the normal dose of supplementation?

Everyone is different.

I'd start with 1/2 a lozenge in the morning and let it dissolve slowly in your mouth. See how you feel as it dissolves. You should feel something within a few minutes at the most of taking it.

You want to feel healthy energy and healthy mood.

You do not want to feel agitation or headache.

When taking a lozenge with B12 or methylfolate, I like to 'tune in' to how I am feeling as it is dissolving. Since it acts fast, I can literally feel my mood change and energy levels change.

Once I hit that feeling I am looking for, I take the rest of the lozenge out of my mouth, look at how much I used and then toss the rest. Then I make a mental note of how much to take next time.

I also make a mental note of how I am feeling now that I took it. Then, when I am not feeling that healthy feeling, I know I need to take that particular supplement at that particular moment.

I do not recommend taking this supplement every day. It's best used periodically - as needed.

You will know what that feeling is for you once you start taking it.
